Our local news station has just reported that an accident on the Superman Rollercoaster has killed a 55 year old man. Early reports seem to indicate a malfunction in the safety harness. How very tragic.

What a tragic and terrible story. I hate to say it, but when I go on these rides, I often have a fleeting feeling about a "what if" scenario. I know it's one in a million, but this poor man.

my heart goes out to his family.

I can't believe it!! :(

I rode this ride a couple of years ago with DS16, (and now I LOVE roller coasters, I always have). But when I rode this ride, I was petrified because I felt like I was going to fall OUT of the stupid thing!!! It only has a lap bar to hold you in, and when you're going down those steep inclines and you feel weightless, it's the creepiest thing because you feel like you're going to fall out!!!

During this ride I held onto DS for dear life!! He had ridden the ride many times before and LOVES it, but it really scared me, and like I said, I love roller coasters and have never been scared on one like I was on that ride.

They need to install shoulder harnesses on this ride, but I know it'd defeat the purpose of the feeling of weightlessness and "flying like Superman". I feel so horrible that this man died by falling out of the ride :( :( :(

Prayers for his family and friends.
