Accessible rooms as the Swan

Can anyone tell me if there are accessible rooms on the 12th floor club level? Also, anyone know if grab bars are standard in all of the rooms? My mom is in a wheel chair for the trip but can walk around the room. She doesn't need a wheel in shower, but grab bars would be great to stabilize her. Anyone out there have any experience with the Swan?

Thanks.

I can't provide full answers, but I see that no one else has posted back to you so here goes. I have stayed in a number of regular hc rooms at the Swan (my dh has an annual conference at WDW and they put him at the Swan so I pretty much stay there every year). I have always had a roll-in shower, raised toilet, and grab bars. That seems to be what the hc rooms are. I specify that I need grab bars and always get the same type of room. Re the location of the hc rooms... I would call and ask.

Also, I believe that they are totally done with the renovation. I would call and ask to be sure. We were there last year and got an "old" room. The a/c was miserable, it turned on & off with a motion detector. Thus, when you went to sleep, it turned off. It took days for handwashables to dry. We hear that the renovation is now done, but you can bet we will triple check before we go back at the end of October!

Have a fun trip. Sorry I could not be of more help.

I don't know the answer to your question but thought I would at least post some info that I pulled off the Resorts Board:

- - - - - - -
Handicap Information

The Dolphin has 52 handicap accessible and equipped rooms, based on availability. Rooms are equipped with roll-in showers, bars on bathtub walls, push button door bell, wider bathroom doors, along with other requests. The Swan has handicap accessible rooms based on availability. Both resorts will also waive the valet fee for parking your car if you have a wheel chair bound person in your car and have a plate or placard that says HC. Also, wheelchairs are available for use from the hotel.

You should contact the Swan directly and ask your question, and then put in a request for one of those rooms so that your mom will have an easier time. Enjoy your vacation. I have stayed at the Swan once and really had a lovely time.
