Hello, all! We're about to take our first Disney cruise and I am new to Disboards as well. I am on a Western Caribbean Merrytime cruise later this month and I have been looking for accessible excursions but am not having much luck. My travel companion uses a collapsible wheelchair 100% of the time. We do have a handicap room with a verandah booked and a reservation at Palo. Does anyone have any suggestions for an accessible "must-do" activity on the Magic or any experience with fully accessible adventures on port days? We will be at Cozumel and CC. Thank you!

These are NOT DCL excursions, but they might give you some ideas...

I also found this from a post on Castaway Cay accessibility:
"On CC they have wheelchairs made for the beach so don't rule out the beach because he has a wheelchair. I believe they hold one cabana for someone needing an accessible room. If it's in the budget that would make for a nice relaxing "home base" to spend the day. Note that it's not guaranteed to be available though."

Calling DCL might be your next step.

We just sailed on the Fantasy over Halloween. DH uses an ECV and there were no tours that
permitted an ECV. There were some that accepted a fold up wheelchair. We stayed on the ship
in Cozumel, in Grand Cayman we took the tender to the port area and just walked around. You
could take the WC on the tender but we didn't know that. In Jamaica we took the ECV to the port
area shopping. We had been to all ports before so it was ok..

Unfortunately, many Caribbean ports do not have the same accessibility laws we appreciate here in the U.S.

CC does have beach wheelchairs, available on a first-come/first-served basis.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you everyone! I did talk to a DCL TA and she told me that there are plenty of beach wheelchairs available at CC and that the paths are hard packed sand so I think we will have a good day there. We may end up just enjoying the ship on Cozumel day. I imagine that will be a good day for the adults only pool. :) Thank you so much for your help and suggestions. I can already tell we're about to be addicted to Disney cruising!
