Access 2 parks in a day with single day tickets - not park hopper

This may seem weird but give me a second....so it's much cheaper for us to add another single park day to our tickets than to add park hoppers for the entire trip (would be 8 or 9 day ticket). There is only one day that we need to do this with.

Are we able to use an additional ticket day at another park? I know you have to, currently, have a reservation for the park for the day.

What you describe in the header and what you describe in the text of your post are two different things.

You CAN access a second park with a second single day ticket (but you would never want to because it's more expensive).

You CANNOT deduct two days from a multi-day ticket in a single day.

OK I worded it wrong. I meant using 2 days of a multi-day ticket in a single day. Thanks for your reply. I'll try to rework our plans.

If you've thought of a way to save money, you can bet Disney has already beat you to it.

The hopper is your only option to visit 2 parks with a single multiple day ticket.

The issue might be the parks reservation system? Don’t think you can hold one reservation at two different parks on the same day (even using two different tickets since both tickets would be under your name and you can’t be two places at once). But maybe you can show up at second park with the second ticket for that day and enter if it’s not full with no reservation? Not sure logistically if that would work. Might have to go to ticket booth or guest services and add on another live (not online) ticket for that day to make sure it’s not linked to your account. Really not sure?

Another thought. They used fingerprint scanners when we entered this month. If someone uses two seperate park tickets to enter different parks on same day without a park hopper I wonder if the second fingerprint scan would trip them up? Not sure what they use those scans for.

On the other hand if someone were to want to go to one park in the morning and another park prior to the 2 pm park hopper time I would think they’d be allowed to use two seperate tickets to accomplish that. But I really don’t know.

No, the issue is that you can't use 2 days of a multi day ticket on the same day. This predates park reservations.

Sorry, both of these answers are incorrect.

As advised by @mom2rtk above, the only way to enter a second park on the same day is to pay for the park hopper option and that must be added to the entire length of the ticket. It cannot be added to only one day of the ticket.

Ok good to know. To be clear, I wasn’t providing an answer just brainstorming the possibilities without knowing whether it’s allowed or not. But it sounds like Disney has a rule against it and that’s that! Thanks for all the clarification.

Another way to think of this - Disney sells multi day theme park tickets not X number of theme park admissions.

Well - you can enter two parks on the same day if you had two totally separate tickets connected to different MDE accounts and had reservations on each for the relevant park. I cannot think of any realistic situation where this would ever remotely make sense to do, however.

This what I was thinking would work, but still too expensive. Wasn't sure if you could link 2 tickets in MDE for the same day, or if they would have to be in separate MDE accounts to get park reservations in 2 different parks. However, this most likely would still be more expensive then adding park hopper.

Something to consider.

The least expensive single day ticket for WDW is $109 (Aug/Sep 2022). Most days are more than that.
Cost to add PH to a single day ticket is $65
Cost to add PH to entire length of stay to a multi-day ticket is $85

If a guest wishes to visit more than one park on the same day it is always most cost effective to add the PH option.
