I will be joining my friend and her three boys at Universal Orlando on New Year's Eve and she was asking me if she would have difficulties in getting an GAP or not. I have no idea as I have never had to use one before, so I thought that I would ask here and hopefully, find someone who would have the answers.

Anyway, her three boys all have mito disease (Complex I and IV), two have G-tubes, seizures, ADD, ADHD, among other things that would create a super long list. One of them has to use a wheelchair for long distances due to fatigue relating to his Mito. All three of them have also been granted wishes through MAW at some point. One in 2002 and the other two within the last year. But I'm wondering if we qualify for a GAP or not. Don't want to waste time standing in the line at Guest Services, if we don't have a chance at receiving one. Any help would be appreciated.

Since it’s late, I will just point you toward the disABILITIES FAQs thread. You can find it near the top of this board or follow my signature to get there. One of the posts in that thread is information about Guest Assistance at Universal Studios.

Just as at WDW, Guest Assistance Cards are not given because of the diagnosis, but are based on the needs of the person with a disability. So, your friend should be prepared to explain what her children need rather than listing their different conditions. Different people with the same diagnosis can have very different needs, so listing the diagnosis doesn’t explain what the needs are.
