We have 1 night booked at PB and then the next day we check into HRH for 4 nights.

I know we will get our FOTL cards when we arrive at the PB and they are good for that day and the next day.

But when we check into HRH the next morning we will also get them for that hotel for that day.

So technically we will have 10 FOTL cards for the one day right ? Will one set be taken from us or will we have 5 extra ?

(5 of us in the room).

If we have extra are we allow to give them to someone to use for the day or is that a no no ? We wouldn't have room charging on the cards so that isn't an issue.

You con't have to give your room keys back when you check out, so I guess you would have ten keys. Your names will be on them and they should not be given to anyone else.

you will have keys to both hotels on that switch over day. (10)

they are non transferable hotel keys for fotl purposes.
therefore, it is illegal to give them away for the intent of others to use for the park.
it would be fraud as they are registered to hotel guests only.
why would you jeopardize yourself with anything illegal?

if the keys are scanned, it reflects your name and personal info for the hotel.

if the scanner is not working correctly and you have to show personal id, the hotel keys you gave away, would not reflect who the people are.

some guests do a lot of things that are not right but it doesn't matter to them. i'm not saying that is the case with you and your family. just a general statement. i know you could feel you could be spreading some mummy dust to another family by giving your hotel keys away.
for me, i would not risk it at all.

i can't tell anyone what to do or not to do.
all i can point out is the legality to the situation.

if someone in this situation says to themselves, it won't hurt to give them away.
think about the consequences if that hotel key is scanned and an unknown person is trying to use it.
what if the first hotel blocks the validity of that hotel key since they are aware you are transferring to another onsite hotel.

what if you get hurt on a ride and all the tm or paramedics can find is the hotel key in your pocket for id purposes. your name is on that key.

chances are nothing like above will happen.
or we always hope they don't happen.

if you have kids, you never know when one of them will ask you is it ok to do this. just a thought.

Well written macraven. I do understand that many of us would love to be kind and generous and do such things for others. But as you point out the legality and other problems that could arise. Sometimes we don't think of those. Thank you. (no sarcasm, just pure honesty)

I think the greatest concern about giving away a room key is if a restaurant or shop's system is down, they might still allow charging on a room key. Do you really want to take a chance of paying for meals or gifts for strangers.
