If you're purchasing an add-on from a resale broker the contract may or may not still have 2007 UY points available.
Not 100% sure how this would play out buying your add-on directly from Disney.
I think if you purchased the add-on now you would get 2007 UY points because October 2008 would be when your NEXT allotment of points becomes available;
so if you did purchse the add-on now and didn't get 2007 UY points that would be purchasing a contract with current UY points stripped. As I said I am not 100% certain but I don't think Disney sells stripped add-on contracts.
Best best would be to call your guide and ask.
Also, if purchasing an add-on now from Disney does in fact give you 2007 UY points they would need to be used by September 30th - I don't think you'd be able to bank them into 2008 UY because the banking deadline for October is May 31st.
I did this add-on two years ago. I have a Dec. UY. I bought through Disney and was able to bank the points from the recent add on even thought the banking deadline had passed. If I recall the cast member at Member Services did tell me that this was a special case. Check with Member Services and see what they say.
Yes you get current Use Year points when you add on at a sold-out resort through Disney, provided they have them available. Since you are still in your 2007 UY, your add-on would begin with your 2007 UY points. They have been waiving the banking deadline for those points as well. Your 2008 dues would be pro-rated from your purchase date and would be billed after closing.
I tried to do a 50 point BWV add on to my contract. I have a June UY. I was told that A- I'd have to waitlist and B- I wouldn't get 07 points. This was in March.
I ended up buying a resale instead that had 50 banked 07 points.
I also added on HHI this year. Did that add on in May. got my 120 points from 07 that I could bank. ( I'm using them for spring break at HHI ) It depends on the resort and how many points they have hanging around.
