What is the average wait for the AbD photos to be available online?

I must admit, I am disappointed we won't be getting the CD with the Finale Dinner Slide Show included. But, at least we still will be getting the great photos! I just wondered how long it will roughly take to have them after the trip!

Just went through our own 1000 plus shots and ordered copies - trimmed it down to about 600. lol Great to have them on the computer and iPad, but I still like an old fashioned photo album to thumb through! :thumbsup2

Well, I was told it depends on a few different factors. How far away the locale is from Florida, and whether or not the Guide is staying where they are, or returning to the States, and if they are returning to Florida or elsewhere. The photos are shipped to ABD in Florida on some sort of physical media, to be processed and then uploaded. The shipping alone can take 10 days. My guess would be 7 to 10 business days. My trip was one of the first, and I think it was actually a hair over 10 business days.

We are back a week and two days, but our guides are still touring, so I guess it will be a bit longer. ;-)

For our New York trip it took almost two weeks to get ours uploaded and then some were missing. We've been home three weeks and I am hoping they get the rest loaded this week. I was told they were uploaded before the guides left New York but someone from ABD goes through them before they are released to the participants.

I guess my group lucked out. Our pictures from the NYC trip were up in about 5-7 days. One of our guides was going to Ireland for the ABD trip the day our tour ended and the other one was going home. I'm actually surprised, but happy, ours were up that fast.

It was about 2 weeks for ours. I love the pictures online and having the ability to download them. The slide show was great, but there was so many pictures online that were not in the slide show. Now I have them all :) You could make your own slide show if you want with all the pictures.

The old cd had all the photos AND the slide show. ;-). I like the slide show put together through the guide's eye.

I agree with this. There's something about the slideshows the Guides do. I still don't understand why we cant have both...

Really? Were you guys busy up until the farewell dinner? Maybe since the trip was short, they didn't have time? That's sad... :guilty:

Sayhello

There was a short break that afternoon where photos could have been included at the last minute. Not sure if the first trip had the slide show or not - but considering the fact that a lot of our online photos are blurry I have a feeling it was cut because of photo quality. Plus, I'm not 100% positive where our final activity was they could have technically done the slide show. It was missed!

The Aug. 4 Scotland ABD ended on Aug. 12, and I know the pictures were up by at least Aug. 14 because I looked at them Wed. night. They might have been up sooner, but I can't verify. I think this is another testament to how fabulous our guides were for this trip. They knew folks were concerned about making sure that ALL of the photos got uploaded, and they made an extra effort to make sure all of the photos were made available and in record time, it seems. We selected something like 382 photos to download! This is in addition to the probably 2,000+ photos we took ourselves with two cameras and two iphones, LOL. I usually make photo books for our trips. This is definitely going to be a multi-volume set!

I have to admit, I'm pretty disappointed in the new change of downloading from the site. For some reason it was giving us problems, and we don't have any photos from the farewell dinner. I like the past of the ease of receiving the CD and the prepared slideshow. If they were possibly available right on the PhotoPass website, to make the photobooks, that might be a little easier.

Doesn't take away from the WONDERFUL trip, but the old CD perk was one of the many touches of magic!

Was one of your Guides heading back to Florida? That's the only way it could have happened that quickly, because the Guides have to physically get or ship the photos to Florida; they can't upload them themselves. But that's great that they got it done so quickly! Always good news after the iffy start to this service!

Honestly, I hated when they were on PhotoPass. So expensive, and you can just as easily do a photobook on Snapfish. The CD is my favorite, but I much prefer "The Cloud" to PhotoPass. I just don't understand why they couldn't go back to shipping the slideshow on CD, and having the photos available separate (since apparently they physically can't get the slideshow on "the cloud").

We like the photobook on Photopass because of the "Disney" themes. honestly, I don't know WHAT the problem was, but it took FOREVER to download the pictures. I don't have a Mac. Dell is looking less attractive as the years go by. Lol

No, I believe both guides are staying in Scotland for the next trip. However, that one doesn't start until 8/18, so they had some time. I believe they might have gotten special permission to upload the photos themselves given some of the complaints folks on our trip had heard about the changes to the photo system and resulting concerns that were communicated to ABD.

So the guide have to physically mail the photos for upload to their website? I had the impression when they handed out the small cards with the code on it and telling us that they will be available for viewing for 90 days (don't know if the 90 days is after the trip ended or when it is uploaded) that the photos will be available sooner. Our ABD ended last Friday and I guess it's too soon to expect the photos up on the website. One of our guides live in Costa Rica and the other one is spending another two weeks in CR to do her own stuff. I saw the window the guide was using to upload the photos and it looked like it is something the home base in the US can view as well and upload on their site. Lucy, our other guide, was working on her laptop during the long bus drive and she was seated across our seat, that's why I saw a glimpse.

Does that mean we can expect ours much longer than a week?

Well, maybe they.have changed how they do it, but that's what my contact at ABD told me a few weeks ago. Up to 10 business days. And I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the 90 days is from when they are uploaded.

Surprise! Surprise! Our photos are up and so far I don't see missing ones. I'm only a third of the whole collection. Some are just super blurry and that's just the camera which is very unforgiving with the slightest hand shake, plus some photos are zoomed in (animals) which increases the chance of blurry shots.
