ABD Insider pick up service

I've read several forums mentioning this perk for insiders, returning ABD folks, whereby ABD arranges to pick up from home and take you to the origin airport, and after the trip return you from the airport home.

Can anyone enlighten me on more of the details?

This was not something we ever saw with our insider materials from ABD, but I may have overlooked it. Thanks.

I don't know when you booked, but when I switched from the Philly/DC trip to Greece in Feb, they told me the offer was not active any more. They may re-instate it at some point, but they didn't say when.

It's really too bad, because I could seriously use it for this trip. I'm leaving at a really bad time to be able to get a ride.

Well, that stinks! We received that service on our recent ABD and it was great. That is the one perk offered to Adventure Insiders that is actually of some value to me. The gifts are nice, but are really just more stuff to clutter up my house. I really hope they re-instate the transfers. Pretty soon, I'll be deciding whether I'll be traveling with ABD or Tauck in 2014 and the return guest incentives are something I definitely consider. ABD's home/airport transfer was almost as good as the free hotel night offered by Tauck.

I know. I was pretty bummed out. But they were very flexible about things like transferring the deposit, and working out the Trip Insurance, and I guess getting the "expired" Insiders transfers switched over was just one too many things. I'm leaving at 11am on a Tuesday, so finding someone who can get me to the airport at that time is proving to be a challenge. Taking a taxi or parking in the long-term lot are both going to be way expensive. Oh, well. Hopefully someone can fit it in!

I never saw a mention of in any the material either and when I booked it wasn't mentioned to me. But since I knew about it from the forum, I asked and they added it to my reservation. Not that it matters anymore if ABD has dropped this service, but maybe some day they'll do it again.

I have gotten this perk for the past two years. When I booked this year's trip back in August ABD told me that they offered it again but like the first year I had to book prior to a certain date. I think that was sometime around the end of September.

They gave that extra to us but we live 5 miles from the airport. It usually costs us $12.00 for the ride.

We got this perk last year and we are getting it again this summer. We didn't get transportation when we took a second ABD last year. We were told it is only once a year. I don't know the specifics of how they apply this perk, but you must have already been on 2 ABD's to be offered the extra transportation. the paperwork we received in the mail shows the transportation. I guess to be sure you should call ABD

I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you for this thread. Because of you all, I contacted Kevin at Dreams Unlimited and got this perk added to our Ireland trip this summer. We booked it last Summer and it is our 5th ABD Trip and the second in 2013, so we met the criteria....yeah!

There were some issues at first with this site that the info did not get to the folks who actually administer the program. If you sign up, then hear of people getting Insider gifts, and you don't get them, call ABD and let them know. Hopefully, though, they've worked that all out.
