ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

For the sake of brevity tonight, I will simply post the photo clue to the final round of Pt. 2 of Where in the World? This quaint little scene can be found where?

Additionally, for that 2nd point, name one thing nearby that also starts with Letter L. And for the (likely) winning point, a 3rd bonus point, make your answer unique among guesses. If your answer is the only one of its kind, I will award you 3 points for the round.

A few rules: Although, it does not have to be a “Proper Noun” (you’re good with that now, Magdalene¸ right?)¸ it does need to be a legitimate person, place, or thing that can be found within a 2 minute walk (I have short legs, keep that mind). Let’s keep away from adjectives and adverbs this time around. Anyone can say "lovely", right?

Questions? PM me. I’d also like your guesses PM'd, since this is the last, and quite an important round.

Good luck, and may the most creative, or hard-working, win!!

That sure didn't hurt! I didn't think that my answer was very unique and I was a little worried that someone else would submit it also.

and here I thought mine was going to be unique. :lmao:

:headache:

And here I thought King Kamehameha Suite would be a good answer. I guess I need to study the bar menus a little more closely next time!

Aha Great minds think alike. :rotfl:

Which thread might that be? I went back to read a thread before the thread I first read when you were still on mission and planning the trip for the current TR. Clear as mud? :surfweb:

Oh, no worries about the resort for our birthdays - planning and more planning, changing and more changing is half the fun for me! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the next update and more Poly pics!! TY!

p.s. The champagne quote is still true for me too. Oh, well, could be worse vices! ;)

I had a TR report from 2008, that was stuck in a remote corner of the DIS that was hard to find. That was before I even knew about the TR forums. I can dig it up for you if you really want to read an archaic, dusty TR from the Fort.

First there'll be a day of fun at the MK, but then our dinner, wherever that ended up being....:rolleyes1

did you see the pictures on FB? I think I was tagged in at least a few of them?

I did see them! You all looked great and it looked like a great time!

:headache:

Me too!!!!

Congrats to the new drivers in your family! I hope they don't give you too many gray hairs!

So I knew the answer to L right away but I need to ponder something no one else will guess to get me that bonus point!!!

Nothing a bottle of red can't handle!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Mikki almost hit the same driver twice this morning going over the bridge!! Granted she was trying to make a lane change on a curve, which is a pretty tough thing to do, even for a driver of 25 years, but I'm sure I"m a few gray hairs richer this morning. :scared1:

:scared1: You are teaching THREE of them? You are going to have to visit the hairdresser once a week!!!:rotfl2:

Yeah, probably the first time in the history of SAHMhood. I feel like the state should be paying me the salary of a drivers ed. teacher. :rotfl2:

 Time to buy L'oreal buy the crate!!:rotfl:

Bless YOU!!!

HAHAHA~ Yes, I"m thinking of doing it myself for $2.95 next time rather than $60 at the salon. Then, being the conniver that I am, I'll ask if I can put that money in the bank for my Disney 2012 quest. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Soooo, I just gotta share... I am feeling I just got the MomSchmuck of the Year Award.

Zach has been saying for months that he can't see- far away OR near. We thought he was blowing off his homework and jsut being a toot, but yesterday I took him to the eye doctor, and sure enough, he has MULTIPLE sight issues and CAN'T SEE worth a hill of beans!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I feel HORRIBLE that we waited so long, but to be fair, he had a vision screening a few months ago at school and checked out fine- Ummmm.... how did THAT happen?? AND we needed to wait until our vision insurance kicked in for the appt.

UGH!! I know I shouldn't beat myself up, but what an awful feeling to know that he could have had help a long time ago! Sheesh, being a parent is so hard sometimes!

Aw, don't be too hard on yourself Liesa! When you become a parent, I believe there is an unwritten rule that states you will make many mistakes along the way. I know I have. My worst one is actually no laughing matter. My oldest DD is dramatic, she could win an academy award for some of her performances actually. Anyhow, she's said numerous times that certain foods bother her but I thought she just didn't want to eat them. Fast forward to last September and she had an anaphylactic reaction! I took her to an allergist afteward and turns out she has multiple food allergies. I must have cried for hours that night, I felt truly like the worst parent alive. What made it worse was that she actually said "I told you so" in front of the doctor! Not my finest parenting moment.

I read this homeschooling blog and one of her sayings is "disappointing kids on a daily basis"! It just makes me laugh. Sometimes that's how I feel too!

:hug: Oh honey! I feel for you! Jordan is a drama queen and I never know how much stock to put in her complaints. I tell my friends that Jordan can just add whatever new thing I screwed up on to the list of complaints she tells her therapist some day. You are a great mom but I know I would feel bad too!:hug:

DD was seeing another doctor and that doctor did an informal vision screening. When she was checking her near vision, she gave her a card with either numbers or letters to read and her response was "dot, dot, dot dot, dot" Even the Dr thought she was messing around. I took her to the Pediatric opthalmologist to check her out and she was 20/200.:scared1:
Got her glasses and she remarked how the tree had individual leaves. :headache:
Yeah we felt horrible. Good news was that was middle school. By high school her vision was 20/20 again and even the eye doctor could not explain it. Go figure.

Oh yeah I also waited more than 24 hours to take my son to the DR after he fell and hurt his arm. I sent him to school and he fell on it again. If it wasn't broken the first time it sure was the second. All the kid needed to do was complain a little, he didn't.
Mother of the year I tell you!!!

So I was way behind once again. It has taken me quite a while to get caught back up but I'm proud to say I am. I missed lots of great updates, lots of great chatters and few sad updates too. The one good thing about getting behind is that there are so many new updates to read :thumbsup2.

I'm sorry I've missed so much of the game too. I just sent my PM and hopefully now that summer is here I can stay caught up.

3 :scared1:

Taylor's had his for a while now and it still gives us grey hairs. I won't even go into the drama recently. I swear, the law should be 21.

But then again there is the matter of them getting where they need to go.

:rotfl:

PM sent

When I was a kid, I was having a harder and harder time reading the blackboard in class. But I didn't want to have to wear glasses, so I never said anything to my parents. Until I went to the doctor and royally failed the eye test. Then my parents were annoyed that I never said anything to them. So I know how you feel, from the other side of the story! :sad2:

Aaaaaaaaaaaah, the Poly.

My all-time favorite. Seeing your update made me drool (metaphorically, that is)...I want to stay there again so badly!

I totally agree with you about Pop. I was only there for one night, and it was fine, and I was happy to have had the experience, but had I been there longer I really would've missed the relaxing-ness of a Mod or a Deluxe.

Speaking of permits...soon I have to take my DH to get his! He (stupidly) allowed his license to expire years ago (we so rarely have to drive here in NYC), and now it's been long enough that he actually has to once again get his learner's permit, take 6 hours of driving lessons, and re-take the test. :headache:

I'm not looking forward to it, because I HATE driving in the city, and I'm going to have to be the one renting the car! But at least it means I won't be the only designated vacation driver for the rest of our lives!
