ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Drama here - and not from my teenager! (this week she likes me - Mother's Day , she "hate"d me!) So I've not been guessing, but enjoying all the same!

just a head's ( :rotfl:) up on the hair - do you have a Sally's Beauty Supply? I'm telling you the first visit you have to buy the equipment (bottles, gloves, large developer, good conditioner) plus the hair color -

from then on out - its only $5! (I use 2 ounces of developer, + the hair color - you can ask at the store for recommendations!) its cheaper than WalMart or Target buying the box of hair color!

I really need to update my pre trip report -but seeings how I've not been training... :rolleyes1

Aw, don't be too hard on yourself Liesa! When you become a parent, I believe there is an unwritten rule that states you will make many mistakes along the way. I know I have. My worst one is actually no laughing matter. My oldest DD is dramatic, she could win an academy award for some of her performances actually. Anyhow, she's said numerous times that certain foods bother her but I thought she just didn't want to eat them. Fast forward to last September and she had an anaphylactic reaction! I took her to an allergist afteward and turns out she has multiple food allergies. I must have cried for hours that night, I felt truly like the worst parent alive. What made it worse was that she actually said "I told you so" in front of the doctor! Not my finest parenting moment.

I read this homeschooling blog and one of her sayings is "disappointing kids on a daily basis"! It just makes me laugh. Sometimes that's how I feel too!

:scared1: THat is SCARY!! I'm glad you figured it out, and she can avoid what she can't eat now. I so get this whole thing about making mistakes. But, today he gets glasses and is pretty excited!

Mine gave me the "told you so" spiel too! :lmao::sad2:

My saying is close- it's "Embarrassing my kids on a daily basis; it's part of my job description".

LOL! Oh my goodness - poor Mikki and you!

:hug: Oh honey! I feel for you! Jordan is a drama queen and I never know how much stock to put in her complaints. I tell my friends that Jordan can just add whatever new thing I screwed up on to the list of complaints she tells her therapist some day. You are a great mom but I know I would feel bad too!:hug:

Clearly she needs a few more weeks practice. If only I could get away with never having to sleep. I could get so much more done!

Well, at least we're getting him the glasses he needs now. But now, I understand how frustrated he must have been all along!

Just sent 2 PMs - one for Letter L and re-sent my list of guesses from back in August

THANKS!!! I hope I can have some time to work on this games VERY soon! But opening night is tonight, and I'm working backstage.

DD was seeing another doctor and that doctor did an informal vision screening. When she was checking her near vision, she gave her a card with either numbers or letters to read and her response was "dot, dot, dot dot, dot" Even the Dr thought she was messing around. I took her to the Pediatric opthalmologist to check her out and she was 20/200.:scared1:
Got her glasses and she remarked how the tree had individual leaves. :headache:
Yeah we felt horrible. Good news was that was middle school. By high school her vision was 20/20 again and even the eye doctor could not explain it. Go figure.

Oh yeah I also waited more than 24 hours to take my son to the DR after he fell and hurt his arm. I sent him to school and he fell on it again. If it wasn't broken the first time it sure was the second. All the kid needed to do was complain a little, he didn't.
Mother of the year I tell you!!!

WOW! It all just healed up on its own? That's phenomenal! What a blessing! It's amazing that she wasn't slamming into walls at 20/200!! Strange, indeed.

Sometimes it's so hard to gauge all the different persoanlities of our kids. Always a fun (?) challenge, isn't it? And it doesn't get easier when they turn 18. Now we're gearing up for the courtship years.

So I was way behind once again. It has taken me quite a while to get caught back up but I'm proud to say I am. I missed lots of great updates, lots of great chatters and few sad updates too. The one good thing about getting behind is that there are so many new updates to read :thumbsup2.

I'm sorry I've missed so much of the game too. I just sent my PM and hopefully now that summer is here I can stay caught up.

Yup, lots there for sure!! This thread would NOT be what it is though save for the witty banter of the readers- It's the quintessential e-playground. :lmao: Glad you are enjoying what you're reading.

End of the year stuff always slams everyone. No worries, and it'll be great to have you around as often as you can make it!

3 :scared1:

Taylor's had his for a while now and it still gives us grey hairs. I won't even go into the drama recently. I swear, the law should be 21.

But then again there is the matter of them getting where they need to go.

:rotfl:

PM sent

yeah, 3 at a time! Each one is so different. Not that's it's so scary, but finding hte time to tailor each "lesson" to their levels is so tough! I'd say Mikki at 15 was more ready for driving than Bek is at 18.

When I was a kid, I was having a harder and harder time reading the blackboard in class. But I didn't want to have to wear glasses, so I never said anything to my parents. Until I went to the doctor and royally failed the eye test. Then my parents were annoyed that I never said anything to them. So I know how you feel, from the other side of the story! :sad2:

so, you wanted to be cool? some things never change, do they? :lmao:

The sad part is that he really did want them, but we didn't have the money, and frankly didn't believe him.

Aaaaaaaaaaaah, the Poly.

My all-time favorite. Seeing your update made me drool (metaphorically, that is)...I want to stay there again so badly!

I totally agree with you about Pop. I was only there for one night, and it was fine, and I was happy to have had the experience, but had I been there longer I really would've missed the relaxing-ness of a Mod or a Deluxe.

Speaking of permits...soon I have to take my DH to get his! He (stupidly) allowed his license to expire years ago (we so rarely have to drive here in NYC), and now it's been long enough that he actually has to once again get his learner's permit, take 6 hours of driving lessons, and re-take the test. :headache:

I'm not looking forward to it, because I HATE driving in the city, and I'm going to have to be the one renting the car! But at least it means I won't be the only designated vacation driver for the rest of our lives!

I'd stay at the Poly again in a minute. Everything about it was just so wonderful!

I want to stay at all the resorts someday, just to say I have and can speak with some intelligence on them. I think the ones I don't think I'll like may really surprise me, and likewise, those I thoguht I'd like (the POP) may be dissappointing.

he let it EXPIRE??!! :scared1: OH NO! What a painful process to have to go through again; I hope I NEVER have to do that again! Then again, I can't imagine not having the privelege of driving either!

I'm so sorry, Sandy you've had too much drama lately! That can sure drag ya down fast. I've had a fair bit too with a daughter who may have a budding relationship happening- lots of drama, and FB conversations with the young gentleman, etc.... It never ends. Hang in there, my friend.

Training my take a bit of the stress off... :confused3

Frankly doing my own hair scares the crap out of me. I have a hard enough time getting up the courage to go in. Every stylist has an opinion on what will look good, and I've never really come out with waht I've asked for- that's with 3 different stylists. Soooo.... who knows.

Speaking of drama and daughters.....how is Mikki doing with her transition stateside? It was Mikki, wasn't it, that was having the most trouble adusting? It sounds like she is getting involved in her new life, so I am thinking maybe she is coping better now? :goodvibes

Thanks to your handy dandy chapter links I am officially all caught up!!! :cool1::woohoo::yay:

Can't wait to see the answers for L and the official scores and really want to know how Anne of Green Gables went! Happy weekend to you all!

Morning young, and breezes fresh,
Skies so blue and a heart turned light,
Park wide open, plans so big,
Onto Main Street, colors bright.

Up the street, near the end,
Piano player tinkles a tune,
“7” watches the entire set, requests some Sousa
And plays the last note at noon.

Very nice poem Liesa! I like it :thumbsup2 And I spotted a badge for the O.P.P (which is our police here) which I don't think I've seen before in that glass case. Very cool!

Liesa, I have said it before and I'll say it again, I just love the way you tell your TR. I do love the Halloween decorations and colors at the MK. And you are just so photogentic with your shots.

There once was a woman from Oregon,

.....well, so much for that limerick, I'm stuck already.

Very impressive chapter!

I like the fire company's jack-o-lantern.
