ABC likely to get fined

I don't think the OP mean't "rhyme" with......just change the "p" to a "t"...I am assuming...cause I missed it here.

That makes a bit more sense--you should see me sitting here in my kitchen, talking to myself outloud, trying to come up with cuss words that rhyme with ship! :rotfl2: I was starting to wonder if I was on Candid Camera and was getting ready to go brush my hair! :rotfl:

don't know about the fine thing ..it seems to all have been worked out ahead of time. I am watching a re-broadcast of one of the E shows and they just mentioned that the group agreed to tone down the rest of the language and, in return, the network allowed the use of "the word that rhymes with witch". I don't know how true - this only what E is saying - I also don't know how well they stuck to that promise, as I know nothing of the original version and did not pay close enough attention last night. What little I saw did seem to have plenty of edits...and I know where the "word that rhymes with ship" comes into play given the whole agreement....

I, personally, felt that the song picked was the one that added the most to and represented most fully the movie it was nominated from. If its not your thing, its not your thing, but I think that something being 'distasteful' to some people has nothing to do with its overall merit as a representation of the film it appeared in.

As for things that weren't family friendly? I coulda lived without the interpretive dance version of the sexual assault from Crash (during In the Deep). Eek.

Well, if others can find wit, wisdom and insight in the deep, sensitive "Academy Award winning" lyrics of the below supposed piece of art, more power to them! Hard as I try, all I see is generic gansta rap, with same-old, same-old fatigued sexist/ghetto role model theme (and the RIAA wonders why music sales are down...)

I think its not so much the "wit, wisdom, and insight" that trips my trigger. It's the rampant disjointed absurdity of it. That's one wonderful thing about entertainment -not all of it has to be highbrow :confused3

MAriposa: I noticed that as well(acting out that scene from Crash) - felt it was totally unnecessary...couldn't believe it!!! Poor taste! I didn't care for the whole thing really, but when they kept showing that part....not cool.
