Can I change my room reservation to a AAA discount if I actually have not joined AAA yet? TIA

Yes, you can reserve with a AAA discount. You will need to have your AAA card at check-in date.

When I booked my AAA room only discount with Disney, they asked for my AAA number and the expiration date. So through the Disney phone line, I'm not sure you can book it before you join.

I just booked a AAA rate yesterday and they had to have the number. It was my SIL's card (she's traveling with us) so I ended up putting the rooms on hold. Then I e-mailed SIL, got her number, called CRO back and then they could apply the discount. The CM told me that even though they were holding the rooms that if a bunch of people called and requested AAA discounted rooms before I called them back with the info that the discounted rooms may be gone since there is a limited number available. She also said they had to have the card at check-in.

But it did save us 15 percent which is good since there aren't any room-only GP codes right now.
