Hi everyone.

I was thinking of joining aaa to get a room discount. Does anyone know what the discount will be for Sept. 2006 yet. Also how much of a Discount is their on say 8 day park hopper tickets and Airline tickets. i tried to look around on their sight the other night. It looks like the airfare is about $15 cheaper then Expedia, am I right?

One more Question. Did the county Pop Century is in raise their sales tax? Mosuesavers said it was 11.5% sales tax and resort tax but when I try to price a room thru WDW it shows it as a little over 13%.

based upon the season. September is Value season so you could expect about 20% off a Value resort during that time of year.

As for the tax, I really don't know. As far as I know, only AS is in the 13% bracket but I don't know for sure.

As for tickets, I have found their prices are close to what you would have paid at the Disney store if you bought the tickets there. There are also several reputable ticket brokers from whom you might do better. You can find them through Mousesavers as well.

For airfare, I never book a package; do it myself. Find better airfares by checking airline sites directly and reading these boards...many people post info about special deals or low prices and if you're quick you might snag something. Remember this year, Continental and JetBlue offered really low fares to Orlando so I probably would want to do it myself.

HTH.

I just called into disney to book our vacation and am a aaa member. They said that through aaa you receive a discount on your hotel room only of 15% delux resort and 20% moderate. If you book through AAA this room discount cam be applied to your package but through Disney you can only book a room with the discount. Last year I saved quite a bit of money using AAA.

was planning to book sepeartely. even if I go thru aaa. I receive the mousesavers newsletter so I know about thier price. jsut wondering if aaa offered better. proablly not as I can get 8 day park hopper expiry for $230 a piece adult.

I am a AAA member and am contemplating using my discount for my trip next year. I will do all the booking myself - I don't want other people making arrangements for me, just my personal preference.

But, I have a question as well - If I book everything separately (room, tickets, etc) can I still get dining or is that only applicable if you book the vacation as a "MYW package"? I'm teetering on the dining anyway but the more info I have the better prepared I am to make a decision.

In order to get the dining plan, you have to book a package...room and tickets + the dining option. Of course, you don't have to purchase tickets for length of stay; you could purchase as little as a 1 day but you have to buy the same for every member of your party.

So if you're undecided, book the room alone, don't buy tickets yet and think about it. If you decide to add dining, you can also add tickets to the ressie.

If you want the AAA discount, you have 2 options...book through Disney or book through AAA. If you want to add dining, you will lose the AAA discount if you booked through Disney. Only a AAA agent can offer you the room discount AND book the dining package. With the free dining offer out now, you could not combine it with the room discount.

Is anyone hearing that aaa might continue the free dinning plan into December? I know they say it ends 10/4. Or if we buy our package now( for Dec.) and then they come out will the free dinning plan, will we get some $ back? Hope this makes sense! :confused3
