AAA ? Help, please.

(Starting to get nervous. Going cold turkey with no Ressies awaiting august ap rates. )

Wondering if I where to book AAA ressie is there a limit to the number of days you can stay? [Room only.] We are going down for 18 nites and ap rates are limiting it to break it up.

Don't even have an AAA card but have considered it for a long time. Have called about rates a few times, but not gotten serious with this question yet. Know they sometimes ask for # and sometimes don't, they have not asked me yet for a number.

Just getting very nervous thought we would "brave" it out and not make safe ressies, to see if we might get a postcard or pin rate. Seems we always have a ressie, and never get one.

You would have to break it up, that much is true. Every time you place a AAA res, you should be asked to provide your number and exp date, so that when you check in and give your card ,this information can be verified.

any discounted rate is maximum of 10 nights stay, so you would have to break it up to get your 18 nights. and do what is called a continuing reservation , the room only requires one night stay plus tax deposit for each segment of trip and remaining paid at check in ( or before if you wish , not online though it will only take one night and thats it)

Yes they can but from what friends have told me they can't change it to AP rate. You can use dreams and book rack rate than change to AP but not one discount code to another.

That's not true. Our DU agent switched us from AAA to AP and from AAA to GP codes. They can switch you just like anyone else.

ETA: Our reservations were for room only. Maybe what your friends were referring to were packages? I do know that DU cannot add MYW Dining to the AAA rate. Only a AAA agency can do that. But DU can switch the rates for Room Only.

Ok sorry for misinformation. Maybe it was just his dreams agent or something. All I know is they were AP holders and had booked rm only and wanted to switch it to Ap and were told they couldn't. This was a few yrs ago.

It probably has just changed since then?? You know how the Travel industry switches stuff constantly!!!

I just emailed my DU agent to double check. It's been a while since we used them, so I'm hoping it hasn't changed. Thanks for the heads up to the possibility. I'll let you know what my agent emails back!!!

ETA: here's the reply from my DU agent this afternoon.

"Question to DU: I know we are booked at the AAA rate for Room Only now. If an AP rate or GP rate (or I am REALLY lucky and get a code/pin) come out, are you able to switch the AAA rate to one of the others? Or am I stuck with the AAA?
Reply: We always monitor your rate so if an AP rate is released that is any better or if you receive a PIN code via e-mail, please let me know and we will be happy to try to make the change for you. It is always based on availability so it is not a guarantee that I will be able to make the change but we certainly give it our best shot. "

I am using Jo at Dreams Unlimited and she is terrific. She has booked us for 7 nights at WL with an AAA rate (been members for 10 years, so that was an easy decision) and she told me to hold off on buying an AP card until the rates come out and then she will switch us if we want.

Wondering if you have AAA if they give a discount on tickets at all? Would it be available on the annual pass? Anyone remember what it was?

Just keeping all aspects of joining AAA in mind.
