AAA 09' rate / Watch thread

Anyone know: If I book a room for Feb 2009 using the AAA rate, but then a code comes out that is a better rate than AAA - can I simply apply the code to the existing reservation or would I have to make an entirely new reservation, cancelling the AAA one.

Trying to get my ducks in a row here . . . :-)

You can just apply the new code to your old reservation and they will adjust the price.

I am new to AAA

Can anyone tell me what types of discounts come out (or point me in the right direction)

Also what type of perks do you get for booking with AAA?

Thanks a bundle!

You can get between a 10 and 20 percent discount on a room at disney with AAA. If you want a package with this discount you need to use a AAA travel agent to book the reservation. If want a room only reservation you can do this directly with disney. I prefer to do it on my own and then get the tickets separately.

does it matter what type of AAA you have? We just got an offer for platinum AAA, will that help with discounts or don't bother?

I do not believe that it matters, the discount is simply for AAA members. The fancier membership probably gets you more services from AAA itself, but not disney.

I think I remember hearing something about getting better parking spaces as well as preferred viewing for the nighttime events.

Do you still get these?

To obtain the perks do you have to book through AAA or can you go directly through Disney?

Well, I just stopped in this morning at our local AAA office here in the 'Burgh and put down a deposit ($299) for a week in a ASMu family suite for June of next year. My TA there said they've been told AAA package prices will be out next weekend, the 9th or 10th. You should have seen the stack of worksheets she had for folks just waiting for those prices! Must have been at least 15 or 20. Wow.

Can someone refresh my memory? I haven't used my AAA at Disney in 3 years. Is it 20% off deluxe in Value season (August)?

I filled out the quote form on the AAA website (we are AAA members). TA called me yesterday afternoon to verify everything.

I asked about the new rates that would be coming out soon and she stated that the reason she was calling was since the new rates would be out Sunday (Aug 3), that most of the agents would be working from home to ensure they book their clients as soon as the new rates were out and she wanted to make sure she had everything so she can work from home and not have to call me Sunday.

She said she'd call us Monday with our information. :cool1:

She didn't give any indication as to what the rates would be, but they'd definately be out Sunday. popcorn::

their website still says they're only booking til Dec 31st 2008 still. hmm maybe I should clear my cookies.

I got a little further - I got to the list of hotels, but when I hit the "Check Availability" button, I get a "Sorry we are unable to update your ticket selection at this time..." message. :confused3 I guess I'll brave the phone lines!!
