someone on another thread said the AAA discounts are out! They said to ask ask the cm to check again if they say no! Guess it will depend on who you get (as usual). I'm ready to pick up the phone now!

If you get Calhoun, hang up. He said the contract wasn't finalized with AAA. I called right back and got him again! Then I called back and got Cameron. Cameron got me a AAA rate! I got a fort wilderness cabin in August for $238.50 per night.

Edit - I just did some math with my rate - I believe it works out like this - the value season rate for the cabins went up $10 to $265 per night. Since they changed the Cabins to moderates, they get a 20% AAA discount, making my per-night rate $212. Then, when you add the 12.5% tax, it becomes $238.50.

The CM told me no the AAA rates were not out yet. Then I asked him if he was sure because I thought they were coming out today. He punched buttons (alot) and kept checking for me. He found them and asked for my AAA number. Hopefully all is correct!!!

I just made my sept 2009 AAA ressie. CM first said 'not out' but checked right away anyway and lo and behold; she got me the rate. $301,75 excl. tax for Poly GV.

Was a great CM by the way, she told me lots of info (most I knew allready ) about all kinds of options and even gave me the date for my 180-day ADR window. Talk about service!

Whoo Hoo! I just got the AAA rate applied to my split stay for next June and it dropped my total more than $800! Of course on my original ressie I was paying peak rate for this year, so I got the adjustment to 2009 rates and then the AAA on top of that.

I just got off the phone and got my room only rates with AAA discount. $340.00 a night for club level at Wilderness Lodge, I saved almost $1000.00 off of the original peak season rate I was given before 09 rates were out.

I am in an ALL CAPS kinda mood!

I was just able to get the 2009 AAA rate applied to my existing room only reservation at the GF for next July!

We will be adjusting our stay by 1 day as the daily rates I was given have value season starting on July 19th. I asked for the date range of the seasons and she told me that it was't loaded yet.

I think DH will rest easier now that the 'place holder' deposit amount is not our actual room rate

Yes, I'm another rate getter! Don't give up. Not all agents have the word that the AAA rates are available but they are.

I can't wait to call ..... I have to get ready to go to church and then after I am on the phone. When I called Friday just to see what the rack rate was they still hadn't updated my reservations but I can't wait to see what the rates will be for POFQ for Easter week. I just got my AAA discount for my Pop Century Oct. 2009 trip. I am paying $1,032 for a nine night preferred room. That's 200.00 off the original rate.

Just got our AAA discount applied for ASMu family suites for May 2009 (reg season, 15% discount applied). The new rate is $195 wk nights and $212 for wkends and rack rates are $230 and $240 per night respectively. we saved $400. Woo-hoo! No problem applying the discount at all.

Yes, the discounts are out! I just booked POP Century Jan 2 until Jan 16. I got a 15% discount on the room-only rates. I am so excited that finally the rooms are booked . The CM told me, that I could get 2 discounted rooms (on one single reservation) with 1 AAA membership card. Is this correct?

It should be mentioned (for those who don't understand the rates or the discounts) that when you say you saved $550 off the rack rate, you really mean off the rate they quoted you before the 2009 rates were released, not the actual rack rate for 2009. For the value season the AAA discount is 20% off rack rate at the moderates.

I don't mean to diminish your discount, but somebody who doesn't understand the rates will see your post and will want to know how they can save 35% like you imply you saved.

This page explains it pretty well, but that is the 2008 info so of course it is subject to change (although based on the rates coming out today, it doesn't appear to have changed). Basically, you'll get 10%, 15% or 20% off, depending on where and when you stay.
