~A XMAS STORY~decorations, crowds, pixies..AND A BLOODY NOSE~ACTUAL UPDATE 11/9 p190

i will be back later to do some replies. in the meantime i wanted you all to know i'm feeling better. the cut itself looks WAY better. it was just a very shallow surface cut. the way my arm hit the metal, it just sort of sliced it, but not very deep - just enough to let that gunk out! it didn't hardly bleed at all. it's a clean cut and doesn't look red at all except for where the actual cut is. the skin around the cut is perfectly normal-looking.

i put hydrogen peroxide on it this afternoon and that STUNG but i know i need to do it to keep it clean. and i loaded it up with more neosporin and put another band aid on it.

the bone that runs up the back of my arm (the one that's between your wrist and elbow and close the skin) is VERY SORE, so sore that when eli rubbed up against it while walking by me on the couch i yelled in pain and sat there for at least 5 minutes trying to not to scream obscenities! but other than that i'm okay.

in other news we woke up this morning with no heat! i got up around 8:30 (we're both off work today) freezing and i went to check the thermostat and it was blank. so ray got up to look at it and it wasn't working at all. we called a heating/air company and the guy that came out around lunchtime checked and said that our wiring was done incorrectly and we're lucky that our house hasn't burned down before now. :faint: he let us keep the wires and they're both very black and look as if they're burned. i'm going to write a letter to our builder telling him about this. it's no longer under warranty because we've been here since 2004, but that's ridiculous and he needs to know about it. we're very lucky. he also said that our electric bill should improve now. and he only charged us $80! :thumbsup2

hope you all have had a nice holiday!

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: That would have freaked me out.

I'm glad he got everything fixed and it's ok now. My brother does heating/ac and $80 is a GREAT deal especially on a holiday!

Wow-how fun to plan a trip to NYC--I cant wait to see the picturers from your trip!
Poor arm!! Hope it feels better soon. I gotta say the comment about "arm fat" cracked me up!:rotfl:

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad you're ok!
I freak out over seeing things like that too!:crazy2:

I hope your arm is feeling better!:flower3:

OMG when do you go to NYC??? We go this saturday!! Were seeing the Little Mermaid YAY can't wait.

Can I ask you what Sardis is? We are looking for a place to eat before the show.

What a fall, you must have been so scared of broken bones. I am so glad you feel better and Ray was there to help with the first aid. He is a keeper. :thumbsup2

I'm so glad I've never seen that gloopy stuff, I think it may be too much for me. (I was glad you didn't take a photo) Luckily, my kids havn't hurt themselves like that. :scared:

 to you from me. I hope you aren't that sore tonight. :flower3:

NY is super fun... the subway system makes sense too! A girls trip to NY-awesome Dawn! That is a fun World of Disney store too! Have you seen Wicked before?

nope, haven't seen wicked. the only broadway shows i've seen are chicago and the lion king. but those weren't "real" broadway shows because i saw them in atlanta. i'm really looking forward to it!

Hellllllllllllllllllllo Justin Timberlake! :thumbsup2

::yes:: he's my other husband.

Dawn, I'm so excited for you. Going to NY is a dream of mine. When my oldest daughter graduates from nursing school next year this may be our
celebration trip. I want to hear all about it.

oh, don't worry! i will share. i'll start a pre-trip on the community board when i'm done with this one so i won't lose you guys!

Congrats on the booking! You'll totally have a blast there. You'll get your character fix at the World of Disney! Ds has been wanting to go to NYC for a while now. Hopefully we can take him sometime soon. The rooms might be small but they're really cute! The art headboard is a great idea.

oh, i'm definitely gonna check out what characters are gonna be there when we go. i know there's a number you can call to see what characters are there. i hope we get some cool art on our headboards!

Awesome that you are going to NYC!!!! That's going to be such a blast!

I saw "Wicked" in NYC a couple of years ago, because my friend and I REALLY wanted to see it, but it wasn't coming back to Boston anytime soon. It was an awesome show. I want to go back and be able to do more. I'm so excited for you!

thanks! i'm excited about everything, but especially the show.

Oh, how exciting!!!!:hyper: My husband and I LOVED NYC! We stayed at the Quality Hotel on 47th Street. I believe it has been bought out, and has a new name now. :confused3 I still have all my stuff from that trip, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me. ;) We did the Empire State Bldg., and I would say it was a let down based on how long we had to wait. It is still really COOL to see the views, but the wait was ridiculous.

We have talked about a "girls trip" with all of the ladies that work at my preschool. It would be so much fun.

You can go see the princesses on the top floor in the Disney store too. When we were there, there was NO ONE in there. The princesses were standing around waiting for someone to come see them. :confused3

thanks! i'll let you know if i have any questions. i hear the views from top of the rock are just as good if not better. it's just that everybody goes to the empire state building because it's so well known. a girls trip would be so much fun for you! oh, wow....cool about the princesses! i know there's a number you can call to see which characters are going to be there and when. i'm gonna wait until a few days before we go and call.

How exciting you are coming to nyc! Let me know if I can help you with planning..I live in tribeca.

If you are looking for restaurants suggestions here are a few of my faves in nyc:

Buddakan
Morimoto
STK
Bar Americain
Nobu
Uncle Jack's Steakhouse
Tao
Ago
Del Posto
Revel
Ono
Macelleria

thanks so much for the suggestions! i've written them down. we're gonna start looking at that kind of stuff closer to to the trip. i will let you know if i have any questions!

Dawn you will have such an amazinggggg time in NYC! We try and get out there every couple of months to do one thing or another (its only like an hour train ride on the LIRR for us.) Funny thing is, I've never been to some of the places you just said and I live so close :confused3

Two places I could suggest going, if you're into these types of things:

1- Ripley's Believe It or Not: such a cool place to take a visit to and not very expensive.
2- Comedy clubs: there are a few really good ones but I would suggest Dangerfield's or Caroline's. Some of the comedians are HILARIOUS

That hotel looks so nice! I like how they tell you the weather at the elevator. You could ask Melissa (troobabiee7) for more suggestions as she lives in Brooklyn, I'm just from Long Island so she'd know better :goodvibes

thanks for the suggestions! i will definitely look into them. and melissa actually responded and gave me LOTS of suggestions, but i will keep you both in mind if i have questions.

This should definitely help take the sting out of your non-Disney year! You'll have a great time, I'm sure, and there will be a little Disney touch mixed in with all of the other stuff. You might be able to even plan a meet with a bunch of NY Disers. That would be fun!

I've always said I'd like to go to NY at Christmas time to see the big tree and the skaters and the window displays and just be a part of the hustle and bustle that is NY at Christmas. Maybe someday I will.

It'll be fun to read a trip report and see pictures of somewhere I have never been. I'm sure we'll get to see New York in an entirely different way than we ever have!

That room did look very small. When you're taking pictures of the room, can you try to get at an angle to make it look bigger for my sake, please?
Just seeing the picture, I'm already worrying about you guys suffocating in there! :crazy2:

Maybe if those windows could be wide open, that would help?!?!? Or the door to the outside hallway or something.

On second thought, maybe I won't ever be able to go to New York. Or if I do, maybe I can just sleep outside in the park. :rotfl:

yeah, i'm thinking i'll need a disney fix by may and the disney store there will be great! i don't think i'm gonna plan any definite meets though because i don't want to take up brooke and anna's time doing that. i really want to spend a lot of time with my sister and i'll feel like i'm snubbing her, ya know?

i'm sure i'll do a non-disney TR when i get back and post it over on the community boards. if i get done with this one before i leave then i'll start a pre-trip over there so i won't lose you guys!

good think i'm not claustrophobic like you, huh? i don't know how i'll handle the pigeons in new york though. i'm sure there are bigger rooms in NYC for you, memom. we just decided to go with this hotel because we got a decent deal, anna had stayed there before and liked it and none of us have small spaces issues!

Dawn it looks like you're going to have a great time, my sister moved to NYC about 3 weeks ago so I hopefully will get to visit at some point :thumbsup2

cool! i'm sure you'll be able to visit her before you know it. does she like it there?

You are going to have such a great time in NYC!!! How long are you staying for? Looks like you are hitting a lot of the highlights while you are there!

we are staying for 4 nights. we're flying in early though on our first day so we'll have almost 4 1/2 days.

Dawn you have some cool pictures of NYC and all the fun sites. Last May I visited with my DH. We loved the boat ride to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Try to book a ticket for the boat prior to getting to NYC. The lines are HUGE to get on the boat if you don't have a timed ticket.:crowded: I did not plan ahead as well as I should have so we waited a long time, we arrived very early in the morning too! You can also take the ferry to Staten Island ferry and have the same view of the Statue. Our tour bus driver suggested this, my DH and son did this when they were there in July for the All Star Game. I know that did not take all morning. You do not get off the ferry on either Liberty Island or Ellis Island. So buy the timed ticket on line if you want to go in the base or stop on the Island. It will be fun to read about your plans.

BTW I loved being right in the Heart of Times Square, we stayed at Millenium Broadway. And I loved the Disney Store too. They have very cool NYC Disney gifts.princess:

yeah, we're gonna try to get tickets to most of the stuff we want to do before we leave. that way we avoid some of the lines! thanks for the tips about the statue of liberty. i can't wait to see all the NYC stuffs at the world of disney!

NYC is great! You should try to get to Stage Deli (I think that's what it's called). Sandwiches are GREAT...it's been on all the food shows. All sorts of stars have been there. I want to go back!!

i've added it to my list! we're gonna research where we wanna go closer to the trip.

Congrats on booking your trip to NYC! I bet you girls will have a blast! NYC is on my list to visit "some day."

thanks! i'm hoping it will be fun. i'm sure it will!

Congrats on booking a girls' trip to NYC....It's such a fun city to visit!!! :goodvibes You're going to LOVE Wicked....it's such a great musical!

thanks! i'm so looking forward to it! i'm sure we'll love the show.

Wicked is the best! You will love it........totally changed what I think about the Wizard of Oz!

cool! i can't wait.

You will have an awesome time in NYC!!! Greatest city in the world. We live about an hour north. We try to go in as much as possible. DH and I LOVE to stay overnight too, even though we are so close! Last year we took the girls to see the Christmas Spectacular and a snow storm was expected, so we made a weekend out of it, with the girls. They love it as much as we do!!

Feel free to ask away if you have any questions, or PM me.

Our favorite restaurants in the area you will be staying:
Virgil's BBQ
John's Pizzeria
Ellen's Starlight Diner

Oooohhhhhh......I am excited for you!!!!

thanks! i've added those to my list. i think we're definitely doing ellen's. i'll keep you in mind if i have any questions.

did u get the tickets to the show?

if you need any help I am but an email away.

If you would like company at Serendipity let me know, I will make a sacrifice and go. :rotfl2:

yep, we got tickets for the saturday night show. we're in the orchestra section so i think they're decent seats. thanks for your brilliant suggestion of ticketmaster! :rotfl: i'll keep that in mind about serendipity. ;)

Hey Dawn,

I've been following along. Your trip reports make me laugh. You guys are so cuteeee.

I just wanted to say you HAVE to hit Juniors while in NYC. That is if you are a fan of cheesecake. Its yummy. And they have the most giant cupcakes ever!!! There is another place I can't think of right now but they have something called "train wreck" french fries I think?. I HAVE to find it. It's so good.:faint: And its not too far from everything else. I will let you know when I find it!!!

thanks so much for reading! i've added juniors to my list of stuff to look at! i love me some cheesecake. i think there's one on times square, right?

Oh wow!!! I am so excited for you!! I have always wanted to go to NYC!!! It will be so cool to see all your pictures from there!! Once you get back, you will have to give me the name of your hotel! Me and my mother have talked about taking a trip up there and I would love to get a hotel near everything!!

if you want the name of the hotel before we leave i'll be happy to give it to you. i know you're not a stalker. ;)

I'm so excited you are going to NYC :yay: .....and a little jealous . Do you need another sister to make the #'s even :rotfl:

I'm hoping to go one day. But I will also prob have to do a girls trip b/c Matt has NO interest in going there. And he could give a crap less about seeing a broadway show. Which of course is a MUST for me :upsidedow

I know you will have a wonderful time and already can't wait to see your pics!

i would definitely say yes except that brooke already invited john's sister and we would only have room for 4 maximum in that little room. i'm already freaking memom out by having 3 in there! :rotfl: ray doesn't have any interest in going, either. hey, maybe you and i can go together someday!

I'm so excited for you Dawn! You'll absolutely love it here, it's the best! Just make sure you make a list of what you want to do most, because it'll be hard to fit it all in during one weekend. You usually need at least half-a-day each for both Central Park and the MET, both are gorgeous and HUGE! And by the time you get down to Ground Zero, check out the sites, and take a boat out to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, that's almost a full-day outing.

And just be prepared for MOMA. While the MET's full of gorgeous works of art from around the world, Egyptian tombs you can walk through, and period houses, MOMA's a lot more offbeat. It's definitely an experience! We went again this past summer and there were a few installation exhibits that were cool, but then there were rooms full of completely blank canvases that people stood there staring it. It was hilarious! There was also video of a naked woman hula-hooping with barbed wire and it was beyond disturbing. It's a unique place but just be prepared!

Have you gotten your Wicked tickets yet? It's one of the few shows that are still doing really well despite the economic downfall, and it usually sells out months in advance. If you want good seats, make sure you get tickets ASAP!

You're definitely doing the right thing by going to the Top of the Rock instead of the Empire State Building. The ESB's nice, but Top of the Rock is much better! My friends and I go a lot since my dad works in the building and gets us the NBC employee discount, and it's SO much fun! The elevator ride to the top of the building is an experience in and of itself. I have some video I may upload to show you later! Plus the views are unparalleled.... you get a great view of the city, the Empire State Building across the way, and all of Central Park. It's beautiful!

And don't forget about Toys'R'Us Times Square! I know a lot of people don't think about visiting Toys R Us on their vacations, but it's officially the biggest toy store in the world and it's so much fun! You can go on a huge ferris wheel, walk through a life-sized Barbie Dream House, and see animatronic dinosaurs and superheroes. It's really cute in there!

Sardis is great but I'd honestly skip Serendipity III. They have good chocolate, but when we went two summers ago we were greeted by some rat friends :scared: The place has been shut down twice already, after repeatedly failing inspections by the Board of Health for being filthy. I know people love it, but it completely skeeves me out. Plus the customer service SUCKS. They cram as many people as they can into a tiny dump of a room, and they don't offer to-go boxes. If you don't finish your food they don't want you taking it with you. The manager is a piece of work, too, who chargers over-the-top prices and then doesn't care about your experience or food once they have your money. I'd stay away, it's way overrated and there are so many better restaurants to try! If you're looking for a fun experience, Ellen's Stardust Diner is so much fun! It's right there on Broadway and set up to look like an old 50's diner. 50's musicals play on a big screen in the center of the restaurant, and all the waiters and waitresses either were or are on Broadway, and they sing as they bring you your food. The food's delicious too, and you get so much of it! It's not the most authentic experience if you're looking for fine dining, but it's definitely authentically New York!

I'd also put Madame Tussaud's last on your list. Between the sightseeing, museums, attractions, shopping and ethnic neighborhoods (don't miss the West Village either, they have the BEST stores!), you won't have time to do everything and the place is a ripoff. It's fun if you have extra time, but they charge an insane amount of money to take pictures by statues that you can see at any other Madame Tussauds. If you have extra time, I'd do the NBC Studio Tour to see some actual celebrities rehearsing for SNL!

OK, I just wrote you a book  I'm so excited that you're finally getting to see the city! Keep us updated on your plans!

wow, melissa! thanks so much for all the tips. i know who to ask if i need info! :rotfl: we've already started our lists and we're going to narrow it down and prioritize it closer to the trip.

yep, we got our tickets for wicked the day after we booked the trip. we got orchestra seats, row M. :thumbsup2

glad to know top of the rock is so cool. my sister is the one that suggested that. and thanks for the toys R us suggestion! i've added that to our list. good to know about serendipity! i will keep that in mind. we will also keep the stuff you said about madame tussauds and the NBC tour in mind. i think we're definitely going to ellen's stardust diner. it sounds right up our alley! thanks again!

Your NYC weekend sounds fabulous! :goodvibes

thanks! i'm really excited about it.

Enjoy NYC Dawn!! It's also on my to again list!!DD would love to go for the Tanxgiving Day Parade !!

thanks! i will let you guys know how it goes. if i finish this TR before we leave then i'll start a pre-TR for that trip over on the community board and link you guys to it!

serendipity's.....frozen hot chocolate....mmmmm...
and junior's cheesecake...mmmmmm....can you tell i'm hungry???
and magnolia's bakery...cupcakes.....

ok, add these to my list from earlier and now i must go wipe the drool from my table!!!

lol....

:rotfl: sorry to make you hungry!

It looks like you'll have a lot of fun in NYC. DH always said that was one place he'd never go (we're not fans of big cities and crowds), but after seeing Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid at DHS, he's convinced that we need to go see a musical. I have a friend here who's obssessed with Wicked. I bet you'll love it!

ray doesn't have any interest, either. but it's one place i knew i had to see before i leave this world. now i just have to make it to maui, venice, tuscany and australia! :lmao:

I am so jealous! I've always wanted to go to NYC.:goodvibes

i'm sure you can make it there one day! ;)

You don't need to respond to me, I just wanted to wish you a happy trip to NYC. It's one place that DH and I always talk about going to. I really want to go there at Christmas time and see Rockefeller center.

thanks so much!

OMG that's horrible! :scared1: Thankfully you were more in shock than hurt! You're probably going to be really sore tomorrow so just relax and take it easy. I'm glad you're OK!

thanks. :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you are feeling better. I've mostly been a lurker of late, but always enjoy your trip reports.

Your NYC trip sounds great. I was there for a day trip over the holidays. It is beautiful at Christmas time. You have so many great things planned. Wicked is WONDERFUL! And the NYC things at the Disney Store are really nice. Just a personal preference, but I recommend the Museum of Natural History. There are just so many great things to do in NYC. Don't forget to check out Toys R Us. Was Ray ever into Legos? They have unbelievable displays there!

Here's a link to a restaurant we really like there. http://www.johnspizzerianyc.com/index2.htm. I think another poster mentioned John's Pizzeria as well. It used to be a church. It's very good and quite reasonable. Happy planning! Looking forward to reading more...:)

thanks so much for reading! and thanks for your suggestions. i've added them to our list (to be narrowed down sometime in april). yes, ray was into legos but anna's hubby chris was REALLY into legos - still is! i'll have to tell her that.

Yikes! about your arm. I hope you are ok. That's ok....it grossed me out a little too, and I wasn't even there!

Hope you are ok!

thanks! sorry for grossing you out.

Years ago when my son was three (he's now 26), he fell getting out of the bath tub and split open his chin. I too saw that gloppy stuff coming out of his cut, but I was home alone with him and had to stay calm in order to keep him calm. I called the doctor and brought him in right away. The doctor said the stuff was fat and he just put it back in, but my son did need one stitch to close the cut.

Stairs are so dangerous. I have taken some bad falls over the years too. I was coming down the stairs once carrying the same son mentioned above when he was just a few months old and fell all the way down from the top. I don't know how I managed to hold onto him, but I did. I went all the way down on the back of my body. I had a huge gigantic bruise on the back of my thigh. It was so gross.

Hopefully you won't be too sore tomorrow.

nice to know that ray did what a doctor probably would've done. i can't believe you fell with the baby! that's like my worst fear with those steps.

OH MY WORD!!!!!
What was it? Sorry if I am being a dumdum, but what in the heck was it that was coming out of your arm????? Well, I hope your arm feels better!!!! Hopefully you didn't do nothing superbad except for the cut!

i've already responded to you but i thought you may not have seen it. it was ARM FAT. yes, arm fat. and i have relatively thin arms. that's one part of my body that i've never had to worry about as far as fat goes. but i saw what little i have squirting out! :scared:

That's practice for dealing with your future kids. Oh, the war stories I could tell with my kids - the boys especially. But even Jill managed to get her 'grossness' in when she spilled a 400+ degree pot pie on her leg (straight out of the oven) and it gave her third degree burns and the most god-awful big blisters you have ever laid eyes on. She had to go to the doctor daily for about two weeks for him to peel off yucky skin and smear it with new gunk and rewrap it. I won't even go into some the things the boys have managed to do! Suffice it to say, I've seen my share of fat globules, bones, blood, etc.

Be sure it stays nice and clean. You'll be sore in the morning. Any time we have any kind of fall, it hurts in places you don't even realize you hit. You'll probably feel bruised inside and out. I'm glad nothing was broken, though.

I would like to have seen a video of Ray's big leap down to rescue you! What a guy! He vaccums and rescues damsels in distress!!!

oh, brett was awful with having accidents but luckily i never saw anything more than blood. one time brooke hit him with a bat and knocked him out and he fell in dog poop! another time he dropped a big block of wood on a shovel and the shovel came up and hit him right between the eyes - cut to the bone. that was scary because it was way too close to his eyes!

this same arm is the one i broke when i was 4. that was a huge ordeal too. i broke it, then the hospital in gallatin set it backwards and they had to take me to vanderbilt children's hospital and re-break it, put pins in it and put me in a cast.....at 4 years old. not fun! but they did an awesome job with it because i'm right-handed and it's pretty sturdy because it didn't break when i fell last night!

i've realized that the older i get, the harder i fall and the longer it takes me to recover! :upsidedow

so true about ray! i wish i could've seen his leap down the stairs. i read what you wrote to him and he was laughing about it. i have a good guy. ::yes::

Oh, no, Dawn!!! That is so horrible about your arm -- I would be screaming, too! Gelatinous mounds should never come out of one's arm!

Hope your arm feels better soon.

i agree that gelatinous mounds should stay on the inside. :lmao:

Oh Dawn!! Keep an eye on that so it doesn't get infected !! My DD doesn't handle the kids getting injured well either . I arrive at the ER and the staff send her out , cuz they don't want to deal to with 2 casualities !:rotfl2:
Anyway hope you are OK:grouphug:

i will! i put some hydrogen peroxide on it today and it burned but i know i need to keep doing that, washing it and putting neosporin and a new bandage on it every day.

See? Us grandmas think alike. Just keep it nice and clean and you should be just fine. You'll probably keep a little mark there for the rest of your life. It'll be subtle, but you'll probably always be able to see it faintly.

it will be right next to the one i have where i fell on a trashcan in the ladies room at the courthouse last year. i'm such a klutz.

NYC is the best city! The energy is indescribable. pixiedust: The pizza is amazing but you've also got to try a dirty water dog. :cloud9:

As far as your arm goes, check out pics of my leg from Sept in my trippie on pg 183. Cut straight to the bone with gobs of gooey fatty tissue. :crazy2: Feel better.

what exactly is a dirty water dog? oh, and don't worry - pizza is definitely on the agenda!

i went and looked at pictures of your leg and you got me beat by a LONG SHOT!!!!! that looked HORRIBLE. i would have probably fainted - no question. how does it look now? ouch!

wow, melissa! thanks so much for all the tips. i know who to ask if i need info!

Anytime! I know I wrote you a book  I'm always psyched when people come here for the first time, it really is a fun experience! You're going to love Wicked, and I'm glad you got such good seats :cool1: Definitely go to Ellen's, it's such a fun place! Here's a video I found from the restaurant, we always have such a great time and the food's so good!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDZHnd5TCgQ

If you have any questions, definitely be sure to ask. There are a bunch of NY Dis'ers on here who I'm sure have a lot of fun tips. Keep us updated! And I'm glad your arm's already getting better!

Ellen's Starlight Cafe was fun, cheaper than we expected based on location (prices were about fair) food was not the best, but definately fine! and the performances were so much fun. the waiters and waitresses break out into song. I will see if I can find a pic to include from when we were there...

Jeez I hope your arm is ok!!!

As far as NYC...ya know I am just a train ride away as well....and Serendipity (despite the closing and what not) is still GREAT. We were there for my birthday and it was fabulous as always.

We really should work on a DIS meet if you aren't too busy! If you need any help with anything let me know!

thanks! i will definitely let you know if i need help with the planning. i'm not sure about the DIS meets yet. because i'm going with two other people that aren't DISers and don't "get" it, i'm not sure we'll have time, especially since we're just gonna be there for a long weekend. but i will keep you guys updated!

Aw Dawn! Feel better!

thanks!

OH MY!!!! That sounds painful. Definitely keep it clean. You DO NOT want a big ole infection in your arm! Ray's secretly superman.;)

i put hydrogen peroxide on it today to get it even cleaner than it was. it stung but not too horrible. i was telling my dad what happened and that ray made a flying leap down the stairwell and he started singing the spider man song. i was like, "dad, that's spider man. not superman!" :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear of your fall and I hope it heals up quickly.

thanks!

Ahh Dawn, so sorry to hear about your arm!! :scared: I would have definitely been freaking out too! Thank God you had Ray to the rescue :thumbsup2

Hope you're not too sore in the morning but if you are, just a good reason to lay around and rest all day  Feel better!!

yeah, i'm not too good with gore and blood! i didn't do much today but i did clean the house. i'm sore but it's just my arm, not my whole body. i'll be okay!

Oh, Dawn, sorry to hear about your fall! I hope your arm is doing better!

On the bright side, congrats on your upcoming trip! Sounds like so much fun! You'll love Wicked! It's a great show!

thanks! i can't wait for the trip. i will let you guys know how it goes!

I posted on Winkers thread too but i hope you are ok!!! i hope your cut heals nicely and your arm stops hurting. :flower3: YIKES that is scary!! Awesome how fast your DH got there to help you.

thanks! it's the bone that's hurting more than the cut, i guess where i landed on it. i'm so glad ray was there - i probably wouldn't fainted seeing that stuff coming out of my arm if i was by myself!

If it's red around the edges where it was cut, you'd better get it checked out. You should know after reporting so many depos what can happen if it's infected. :crazy2: Heal fast!

definitely! i've seen pictures that are really disgusting. i'll keep a close eye on it but right now the skin around the cut is as normal-looking as can be.

I hope your arm is feeling better! Like previous people have said, you realy should get it checked out if it continues to bother you. After my first c-section, I watch my incision rupture in front of my eyes, so I know all about the gross stuff. I thought I was going to pass out when that happened :faint: .

ouch! yikes - that had to be horrible. i'm keeping a close eye on it but i think it'll be fine.

Dawn......hope your arm heals quickly! Glad that Ray was right there to help you out!

thanks! i'm glad he was there too. i would've freaked out had i seen that stuff and not had anyone around to calm me down.

I'm glad he got everything fixed and it's ok now. My brother does heating/ac and $80 is a GREAT deal especially on a holiday!

i thought so too! he seemed like a really nice guy. i think he was here for less than an hour though. he just popped in those two wires and was done!

Wow-how fun to plan a trip to NYC--I cant wait to see the picturers from your trip!
Poor arm!! Hope it feels better soon. I gotta say the comment about "arm fat" cracked me up!:rotfl:

thanks! i will definitely post the pictures and post a link to a new TR if i start one.

i didn't know what else to call that "stuff" that came out of my arm! :lmao:

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad you're ok!
I freak out over seeing things like that too!:crazy2:

I hope your arm is feeling better!:flower3:

thanks! sorry i thought of you when i fell. i guess we can bond over our klutziness! :rotfl:

Just getting caught up here, so sorry about your arm.

thanks! it feels better today.

OMG when do you go to NYC??? We go this saturday!! Were seeing the Little Mermaid YAY can't wait.

Can I ask you what Sardis is? We are looking for a place to eat before the show.

we go in may. i'd love to hear about your trip when you get back! sardi's is a restaurant near (or in) the broadway district. they have caricatures of all kinds of famous people all over the walls and it's a good place to spot a celebrity. anna saw morgan freeman there last year. here's the website:

What a fall, you must have been so scared of broken bones. I am so glad you feel better and Ray was there to help with the first aid. He is a keeper. :thumbsup2

I'm so glad I've never seen that gloopy stuff, I think it may be too much for me. (I was glad you didn't take a photo) Luckily, my kids havn't hurt themselves like that. :scared:

 to you from me. I hope you aren't that sore tonight. :flower3:

i agree that ray is a keeper! :rotfl: i'm glad he was here too. the gloopy stuff was really gross - i'm so bad with things like that!

Glad your arm is feeling better. I bet it will be sore tomorrow! Glad you didn't break anything!

Holy Crap Girl!!!! I can't believe that I missed your arm being hurt! I'm SO sorry. I hope that you heal quickly and without complications.

THAT arm situation is PRETTY NASTY Dawn!! I have had some nasty cuts/falls but NEVER have i seen ARM FAT come out of one of them...eeeeww! You poor thing! :(

On a lighter note..YAY for NYC!!! We were just there and had the BEST time! We are hoping to go back in the spring as well..lucky for us we have friends that live right on Wall street and they don't mind us crashing there :)

what exactly is a dirty water dog? oh, and don't worry - pizza is definitely on the agenda!

i went and looked at pictures of your leg and you got me beat by a LONG SHOT!!!!! that looked HORRIBLE. i would have probably fainted - no question. how does it look now? ouch!

A dirty water dog is the most delicious hot dog that the street vendors sell. My guess is the water they are cooked in is not the cleanest as the day goes on ;)

I have a gnarly 7 inch scar on my leg. :crazy2: It healed really well and did not get infected by some miracle. :thumbsup2 Just keep yours really clean.

Oh no...that sucks about your arm. I'm glad you're all better. It's good that you found out about the wiring. Better this way than through a house fire. That would be bad! You'll have to do a Dismeet in NYC. So many of us live there!
