A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

I think a birthday cruise would be perfect, think of all the fun we could have!

Yeah, think of the fun!
Do it! Do it! Do it!
It would be a public service mission. Since June is pretty much out for me because of summer school, I'll need good pictures and stories for my mental health. :)

what no update or are you waiting for me to do an update first :lmao:

You people are too polite, waiting for each other to go first. Heck, just post all over the top of each other. We don't care!

Okay, I just have to tell this one: DS and DDIL went to Texas for interviews for teaching jobs, which they got and are moving July 4th. Anyway, the school district is in a small farming town. So during the interview, the principal said to DS, "We work bale to bale around here."

He just nodded, but was thinking, "stacking hay bales?"

The vice principal knew they were a little puzzled, so he said, "did we give you a copy of the bell schedule?" So you see, we are a little challenged out here! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yep, that's how a lot of people talk around here. (Tawk arou-yund hee-yer, that is.) Now with a growing Hispanic population, our school is 1/3 Hispanic, 1/3 African-American, and 1/3 Caucasian Country. You can only imagine some of the accents and conversations I hear daily. Very interesting.

Tag! It's your turn! :rolleyes1

Again with the polite stuff. :goodvibes
I'm hunting down all of you tonight for pictures and stories! Last one to post is a rotten egg!

Well, it works with little kids. :upsidedow

Tonight or tomorrow, for sure!

A great treat for the end of a work week! :cheer2:

Ok my update is done too! I will try and get another done tonight or tom. Of course I need to go grocery shopping. We havent been since before vacation and my fridge is so bare. Though I dont have a lot of room in my freezer and I have a stand up huge freezer. I am starting that new diet and need stuff for it.

Okay THIS was HIGH-larious.

OH my my my.... :rotfl2:
I thought so too.....
:lmao: Soon you will be bilingual!
Boy, won't that be the day!

Hey good luck on the diet, I really battle with mine as well. See, I have these twenty pounds that I get rid of........(last summer) then they find their way back.....(this summer) Ugh! I need better metabolism.
I'll need to head over to your trippie and see what's up!

CP and Happydog, sorry I didn't reply to you sooner, I keep missing posts.

MeMom, our end of May, first of June trip will be cutting it very close next summer. Our school calendar doesn't have us getting out until right before Memorial Day and it's a late holiday next year. Soooo, if we have bunches of snow days we will be really nervous. Never the less we are going ahead with our plans.....
So far we have never had to make up a snow day and I'm hoping we have a mild winter because nothing should get in the way of a Disney vacation.......

I do enjoy the politeness of this group of Disney loving gals, but I guess it could all change if I don't do my part and post soon!:rotfl:

Okay, so on the "other" forum (TGM) they're giving me heck for going concierge & DxDP. But I just love staying concierge for the service and we always pick up breakfast in the lounge because we're not big breakfast eaters. Am I crazy?? I'm so confused about what to do.

Anyway, what I was going to post about was a speakin' Southern story. I moved to Tennessee from South Carolina. While my native speech is about as much of a drawl as y'all can imagine, the Tennessee twang (think Dolly Parton and Hee Haw) is a whole different animal. So, one day I stopped at a store because I was looking for oil (think 2 syllables there now) for some project or another. I asked the man and he said that they didn't have any. But he told me to try the "Tar" store up the road. I nodded and listened the directions, the whole time thinking, "They have a whole store for tar??" You probably guessed it -- when I arrived I realized it was a TIRE store that he was sending me to!

Hahaha! That was a funny story, I wish I was from the south, so I could have that accent too, but sometimes I wish I was from the UK so I could have that accent........hmmmmm, I guess I'm fickle!

I think you need to stick with your dining plan and type of resort stay if you are comfortable with it, it's your vacation after all!

No problem! You can make it up to me by updating tonight...:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

So, what are you thinking for your dates down at Disney?

Normally we order groceries from the Garden Grocer but this trip we were going to the grocery store. Flchick was scheduled to pick us up after our Boma breakfast and then we were going to spend the day with her getting a different look at Orlando.
We didn't make to our breakfast ADR, and she was waiting for us at AKL, I thought I had her number programmed into my phone but didn't. We waited at SSR hoping that she would call, and she waited at AKL wondering what was taking us sooooo long to eat.
Finally she called and was on her way to pick us up.
Our first stop was Publix.

Here's Shocker with the cart.

053-7.jpg

Loading the car, there's Charlotte! Notice that she was nice enough to have picked up two cases of water for us already.:goodvibes

055-5.jpg

As we were driving to Publix I had spotted a very beautiful building and had asked Charlotte what is was. It happened to be her church and she wanted to know if we wanted a closer look, and we said yes!
So we stopped to walk around and take a few pictures, it was really pretty there!

Something was terribly wrong with my dress in this picture....

064-4.jpg

We dropped off the groceries and it was time to go eat.

Next we headed to the World's Largest McDonalds for lunch.......
We saw this on the way.

065-4.jpg

It's all upside down!:upsidedow

066-4.jpg

Here's McDonalds!

067-4.jpg

068-4.jpg

It was like a giant arcade and even had an upstairs!

069-4.jpg

Up next, so many choices....

I so totally agree. We like the dxddp, but we dont always eat 3 meals each day. But where you are not we are huge breakfast fans. I am thinking of doing a few dinners that take 2 ts credits for dinners. My husband wasnt crazy about the crt for dinner so im think maybe I can talk him in to tring breakfast since the kids did like it. I really dont think it is worth the money, but it is more the experience you are paying for and I loved that. I think my kids enjoyed the idea of just eating in the castle.
We are staying at akv a 1 bd for 7 nights of our next trip and for what it is costing me we could stay for a lot longer at a value resort, but we about the same as a mod. I know we will love the experience and part of the reason for us chosing there is to get my hubby to fall in love with dvc. :rolleyes1

I'm waiting paitenly for the update. I'll be on later.

Lol, I just did, and I sent you a PM too....
I'm sure we will be hoping to get back the end of May.

Good plan Jennifer!
well I guess you were updating while I was posting lol :lmao:

We were!

Well let me tell you this McDonalds was very cool. Not your typical burgers and fries..........

085-4.jpg

084-4.jpg

080-4.jpg

081-4.jpg

The food was really good, the pictures above are of the "fake food" but it really looked like this! There was much more than I have pictured...
Marc had burger at the top, I had pasta alfredo with shrimp, Charlotte, what did you have? Baylor had pizza, which he promptly dropped on the floor and then picked it up..........

074-4.jpg

We ordered him another pizza and I had a piece of the Strawberry Festival cake, it was really good!

Then it was time for the games, or should I say basketball, which seemed to be a this young man's addiction for the rest of the trip.....

087-4.jpg

Another picture in this big McDonalds then it was time to go.......

088-4.jpg

We were heading off to a big surprise, and we were guessing, and guessing...
Then we arrived, it was the Cast Member's warehouse, and we were excited!

089-4.jpg

It was dollar day on strollers, these had all been left behind by guests!
What a great surprise but it was not to be we didn't get there in time, they were closing.........

090-4.jpg

Oh well it was a really great idea!

Plan B, hit the outlets!

094-4.jpg

093-4.jpg

and ride a bull........

092-4.jpg

We had an awesome day! Charlotte delivered us back to the resort and we said our goodbyes until our dinner date later in our trip.......

Then the phone rang.........

What great updates!!! I had no idea about the McDonald's! So many non-typical McDonald's choices! How were the prices?

It would have been so cool to check out the Cast Member warehouse -- what treasures must await in there!

How were the character outlets? Did you find any good deals?

Baylor riding the bull :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:!

McDonalds had very reasonable prices, I think mine might have been $6.95.

I was chomping at the bit to get in that warehouse........oh well, maybe next time.

The outlet had some good stuff, I got some goodies for Harper and the girls that were babysitting our tortoise..

I would expect the same pose from Connor on that bull.:rotfl2:

ok I think we went to the wrong outlet. Which one did you got to? I think that is the one we really wanted to go to. I'll make sure we go to that one in jan.

Welcome back Laura! I think I might have missed putting in a couple of links, did you get to see our meet up with LL?

I'm waiting for a few minutes to gather my thoughts........today or tomorrow, and I do need to check on LL, I believe she is next..:rolleyes1

I think I have you to thank for this whole episode.......

Oh that was really funny, :rotfl2: I would have thought the same thing here because we are in a small community with lots of bales out in the fields!

You can thank me later! :rotfl2:

Okay, it's YOUR vacation. I myself would take every chance to be pampered like that. We stayed concierge at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress once - (as guests of DH's uncle) It was fabulous. DxDP does sound like alot of food, but you can go for signature meals at night and choose lighter meals for lunch, so it's all good!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:"tar" store. That reminds me that my Minnesota grandpa visited my aunt in Tennessee and went to the eye doctor. The receptionist asked him if he wanted his a** checked! :rotfl2: He was quite shocked.

Great update...when you guys come in December I will be more than happy to bring you to the cast connections shop!! :D
