A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

Love the update! Too bad DH didn't know about the World's Largest Mickey D's. We would have had to go there for sure!:goodvibes What was the upside down building? I got to go to the CM warehouse in Anaheim. It was smaller than the Orlando one, I think. It was really fun though with great bargains. I got a watch that was $90 in the parks for $35.:thumbsup2

I very much enjoy seeing outside Disney World. We don't venture out beyond Disney boundaries too often. Drew does the most, and Trent next, but Jill and I pretty much stay in the Disney bubble. That's another reason for us to add more days onto our future trips. We want to go to SeaWorld, over to Cocoa Beach and Kennedy, and we need to take a day just for Orlando and other fun on I-Drive. So now we're up to thirteen days! :)

How nice to have your own personal tour guide to show you around! Too bad you didn't get to go into the CM Warehouse. That would have been so cool!

I can so relate to Baylor finding a basketball wherever he went. That was Trent. If there was a ball and a hoop, he found it. If he could make something become a ball and a hoop, he did it. From paper wads in trashcans all the way up to college courts at summer camps, if it resembled basketball, he did it! It led to good things, though - lots of exciting high school ball and many pictures, newspaper articles, trophies etc. to remember it all by.

ok I think we went to the wrong outlet. Which one did you got to? I think that is the one we really wanted to go to. I'll make sure we go to that one in jan.
I honestly can't remember which one it was although it was close to property. If you ask Chickie in chat she will remember or if you are reading Charlotte, could you please let us know?
You can thank me later! :rotfl2:

It has made for some really fun conversations.........Thank you!:goodvibes

I can only imagine those accents!:goodvibes

Plus trying to understand them........

Okay, it's YOUR vacation. I myself would take every chance to be pampered like that. We stayed concierge at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress once - (as guests of DH's uncle) It was fabulous. DxDP does sound like alot of food, but you can go for signature meals at night and choose lighter meals for lunch, so it's all good!
Just what I was thinking :thumbsup2
:rotfl2::rotfl2:"tar" store. That reminds me that my Minnesota grandpa visited my aunt in Tennessee and went to the eye doctor. The receptionist asked him if he wanted his a** checked! :rotfl2: He was quite shocked.
I'll bet he wanted no part of that exam.........:lmao:
Great update...when you guys come in December I will be more than happy to bring you to the cast connections shop!! :D
You have a date!

Micky D's was quite an experience, in fact I need to post a couple more pics of that place...
The CM warehouse would have been fun and I'm sure I would have spent bunches, we had a time getting everything we bought packed up for the trip home as it was. Great snag on that watch.:goodvibes

At first we were reluctant to go, had never left property, but Charlotte insisted, so we said, sure. I'm glad we did, the earth didn't shake when we left property or anything like Marc expected. The CM warehouse would have been great, hopefully next time.
You will need to extend your stay to take it all in, no park days should be sacrificed....:sad2:
At the moment it's the child's rocker in our living room and a stuffed bird that he's playing basketball with. We had to remove the hoop on his door because of the slam dunking going on and we were afraid the aquarium would be a basketball tragedy.
The boy loves his basketball, baseball, and he might start tackle football in August...
I hope he can take one of his sports as far as Trent did, it's not easy to make the high school teams here. I'll bet Trent was really good to make it there. Baylor has his sights set on playing for the University of Kansas then going on to the NBA, we've told him that he needs a back-up plan (we're not tall people) so he says teaching PE and coaching
.

I could have sworn I responded to your update last night. :headache: That is a seriously cool McDonalds! It was very nice I bet to see other sides of Orlando!

I guess since CP updated this morning, it's my turn again. Wow that round of tag went by VERY quickly!

Just because you are it, doesn't mean that you have to hurry it along, we are patient people........;)

Besides, if I get a chance I will finish up on our night today.

I really want to do my next day so I will probably do an update tonight or tomorrow. ;)

Loved the updates. Did you say outlets. :rolleyes1 Maybe I should rent a car one of these days.

Okay, on the McDonalds. Now if we could get with a menu like that around here I would be more willing to go to it.

Who would of thought there was life OUTSIDE the MK and WDW in FL!!!!

That Mickey D's looks so neat! That mall looks fun! Outlets?! :yay: I will have to get all the details from you! :thumbsup2

I am one of those who are picked up by ME and taken to the resort never to leave property until the dreaded "last day." Therefore, I was very intrigued by your venture out on the town! That building was crazy! I would have jumped the curb if I had been driving! McDonald's looked yummy. I never thought I would use yummy and McDonald's together in a sentence but there you go.
Sorry you didn't get to check out the CM Warehouse (but like you said, always next time---great thing about DVC---you always know you will be going back!) Is that where unclaimed stuff is sold? I have never heard about it!
Baylor riding the bull! :rotfl::rotfl:

What was the upside down building?

The upside down building is called WonderWorks. We have one here. Well, not in Knoxville, but in Gatlinburg. It's a lot of fun - filled with all kinds of games and cool hands-on activities for kids. My kids love it! (not that we'd leave the Disney grounds for it....we're some of those who take that ME bus and never leave too :))

My Dad's sise of the family was southern to the core. I understood everything and hve one to add!! My grandparents came to visit once and my grandma said "I'm going to make you an african for your birthday.:scared1: I was young and Guess Who's Coming to dinner" had just come out at the movies. My grandma kept talking about the cast and asking me if I thought any of them were african....so needless to say I was VERY curious and just a little bit scared.
Well, along comes my birthday and my grandma comes to visit. She takes a box out of the back of the truck and says "Here's your african!"
I opened the box and there was a beautiful hand crocheted afghan inside!!;)
I must admit I've laughed about that more than once or twice!!
Looking forward to more!!

The oulets are at least a day in themselves, they are huge and there are more than one outlet mall....

Oh my gosh, when Charlotte told us she was taking us to McDonalds, I have to admit I thought what the heck, but she assured us it was no ordinary McDonalds and she was right! Thanks Charlotte!

Marc was very reluctant to leave the property but he had a blast too! Yep, life outside WDW, who would've known?!?

We are usually just like you ME to the resort and ME back to the airport. Never considered leaving, well, not until Harry Potter opens over at "U". The warehouse has unclaimed stuff and much more!
Baylor on the bull was a hoot.:lmao:

Shannon, thanks, I thought that's what it was. Baylor really wanted to go in there and to Ripley's as well. We just didn't have the time for it all. He was a bit disappointed passing all of that cool stuff and not stopping. (That will come into play in my next post).

Oh my! That's another funny one! I hope my southern friends aren't taking offense to these cute stories. You know I wish I was from the south....or at least British, or Irish, or Scottish......

Although once when Marc and I were in Boston, a cashier asked us to say the word "penny" again. She said that we said like "pinny", I guess we do....

Here are a couple more pictures from that giant McDonalds!:goodvibes

Bowling at McDonalds!

They even have gator shows here in the morning, we didn't come close to making that but it would have been fun!

Have you already booked your cruise? Joe keeps mentioning it-almost everyday! He's getting me pretty excited about the possibility.

That McDonald's looks really cool! And nice variety of food! Did it have all the normal stuff too? An arcade, bowling, the "moon guy", and GATOR SHOWS?!?!?

We went off property in November (went to Kennedy), and it was so weird being in the 'real world'. It's so easy to forget there is a whole city beyond WDW. Next time we go off property, we gotta check out that McDonalds and the outlets! :thumbsup2

Last year we did a couple days of SeaWorld and stayed at a hotel in that part of town. There was a McDonalds Bistro nearby that had a menu like that. One evening we stopped for dinner, went to SeaWorld then stopped again for dessert. On our last day we had to stop again for breakfast before heading to the airport.

Gosh I wish we had one of them around here! Pretty good food at decent prices, definitely not typical fast food!

That McDonalds was so neat! There is a lot more to Orlando than Disney, it's like a totally different vacation...
The cruise is looking good, I sent you a pm.:goodvibes

We saw that Bistro when we passed by Sea World. I wish we had one around here too! It was very good for such a reasonable price.:goodvibes
I didn't look at the breakfast menu, how was it?
