A Wigdout Spring Break Adventure very short pre-trip report

Just checked the calendar and we will be in Disney in just 26 short days I've spent the last couple of days trying to unclutter and pack up my classroom. Anything that I won't use between now and the 22nd of May needs to come home. So much of what I have just won't work for 2nd grade but that's OK! It will be so nice to step away from the stress of State Testing.

I can't wait to be teaching at our neighborhood school just 3 minutes from home and right next door to Baylor's classroom. Gee, hope he doesn't get sent over to visit with his mother........

I've started packing stuff up, too. I've been giving my students all kinds of junk that they consider treasures - old worksheets, notepads, etc.

Three minutes from home is nice, too. I'm twelve minutes from my house, and it's a breeze early in the morning before traffic gets crazy.

Baylor doesn't look like the troublesome type. I think you're safe!

Oh the craziness that goes on over here! The manpris are so funny - didn't really think of 'em that way. I love your pic with the Mouse and Pluto sitting on the ground - so fun! Le Cellier looks so good - I have to put that one on my list!

Carter was excited to see his picture on your trippie! He said "Hey there is that boy we drank the yucky soda with" No Decemebr trip for us, but I have managed to get in a quick five day one in July!! It was so nice to meet your family, also gave me validation with my husand, that all the time I spend, lurking actually means something! Thanks for including us in your report.

Oh, I know you are so going to enjoy being closer to home and closer to Baylor. To be honest, I was dreading having Chelsea at my school this year and in my class, but it has really worked out so well -- like the day she spilled soup all over herself, she was able to come down to my room instead of calling me, and in the afternoon, she just has to walk down to my room. It really is so nice.

I can't wait for our DIS meet either -- I had one of those horrible Disney nightmares last night where we had to take Nala with us to WDW, I forgot about our Tusker House ressie and ended up eating at Jiko (where I found a piece of metal in my hamburger -- who would order a burger at Jiko???), and then we could not get to Epcot in time to meet you for our champagne and Illuminations! I woke up in a such a sweat!

The Character meets with the disney visa are the best! You need to try Le Cellier if you haven't yet, it's my current favorite!

Shocker did not and will not get any suit of that type! It will be great fun hunting for manpris this summer!

Seems there are several May travelers on this thread. Attached is the May Fort Wilderness movie under the stars schedule. This one is posted at about the first of each month. In the past I've found you have to contact the Beach Club directly to get their schedule as it is published weekly, I think on Sundays.

Daddy the Earth is a ……….



I just love Epcot flower and garden! The topiaries are wonderful!

The flowers are beautiful!

We headed back to World Showcase and had to get this picture in Mexico, Marc and Baylor do this every trip!

We stopped in China for a photo op.....

Baylor also wanted to make sure we went to Germany for his favorite chocolate bars! The cast member suggested that he try one of the Milka Crème Bars, so we did, easy sale!

Then we began the search for a place to watch Illuminations. We staked out a spot on a pavilion not too far from Germany. Marc and Baylor stayed behind to save our spot and I headed off to France to purchase a Grand Marnier Slushie. It wasn’t long until I was back and sharing my drink with Marc. Baylor decided that he needed another chocolate bar so he ran back over to the candy shop and purchased his fourth of the evening….
The crowds were starting to gather and Baylor was running around passing out glow necklaces and flashing rings to the kids around us, it was such fun!

UNTIL………………

A KNOW IT ALL CROWDED IN

Oh my gosh, they just scootched in next to me like I should scoot over and make room for them that wasn’t even there.
It was a dad and his son, mom and daughter were standing back…….
It could have been a Saturday Night Live skit……………
He was narrating Illuminations for his son, he was sooooo emotional, sounded like he was going to cry………..
It was like he was making things up as he spoke to his child………..
“Look son, it’s the Earth………”Daddy, the Earth is a light”
“Look son, it’s the creatures of Earth” ……” Daddy, the Earth is a light”
“Look son, it’s the people of the Earth”………”Daddy, the Earth is a light”
I was laughing so hard that I was shaking…………
His little boy had no clue what he was talking about………….

Gosh, you gotta love a know it all, especially at Disney when they really don't know it all.........

I wish I had recorded them because Marc missed the whole thing!
I will try to relive it for him in a few short weeks…………

You know, I find that behavior very typical of people at Disney. We all know it's expensive and I guess they think they need to get the most of their trip and they just don't think of others..... I always tell Marc to forgive their stupidity!
