Just back yesterday from 7 nights on the FTP at ASMo. I faxed a request for any two connecting rooms in the Toy Story buildings (I had specific rooms in mind but didn't want to be too picky). By coincidence, the room controller gave me what I thought (even before we got there) were the perfect rooms: building 10 (Buzz Lightyear side), 3rd floor, parking lot view. I specifically didn't want a room on the "Andy's Room" side of the building because my kids do occasionally take afternoon naps and I didn't want kids playing in Andy's Room to wake them.
So here we are at check-in thinking these rooms are exactly what I would have asked for if I had faxed in ALL my preferences.
HOWEVER . . . . . Be aware that this side of this building also faces the loading dock area of the main building as ASMo (the one with the front desk, food court, gift shop). Every night, we listened to truck after truck backing into the loading dock, and they all had those annoying beeping sounds when the truck is in reverse. It usually started around 2am and we heard it constantly until about 6am. It woke us up all seven nights of our stay.
By contrast, I never heard a peep from my neighbors and rarely (perhaps twice the entire time we were there) heard a toilet flush.
I realize they have to get deliveries, but dang it, if they're going to deliver at 2:00 in the morning, they ought to disable those bleeping beepers. I didn't complain because what can they do? They gotta get the food and merchandise in the door. And of course we had already unpacked 7 bags worth of stuff and the thought of repacking all that and schlepping it to another room (even if other rooms had been available) was more than I could swallow.
The hotel was great in every other way. We loved the theming, loved the pool, everything was clean, food was good. Bus service was OK (mostly short waits, except Monday when we waited 45 minutes in 90 degree weather with cranky children at AK to get back to ASMo).
Hope this is helpful to those of you contemplating room locations at ASMo. By the way, our rooms were 0948 and 0949.
