Hello, Disers! Welcome to my very first PTR! I’m a newbie at DIS this year and learning as I go, so please bear with me. We are going on our third Disney trip and this year’s will be in December and is a surprise for our girls. Hopefully we can keep it a secret as long as I’m hoping to, which is all the way up to the airport. I have planned for them to have their small travel backpacks with us, and in them I’ll have a “going to WDW tee, princess water bottle (maybe I’m debating on this one because we do get a resort bottle so this may get scratch), A Mickey rice crispy treat (I have family that live in Lakeland that has volunteered to buy and ship them to me, a custom made Disney necklace, Mickey Earrings and their autograph books. And for another special treat, their granny and favorite aunt (my mom and sis) will also be joining us for part of our trip. This will be my mother’s and sister’s first trip to the most magically place on Earth! I can’t wait to share the experience with them! We actually just had a vacation back in June to Destin and I have to say it was the worst vacation in my life. So we desperately need the magic that Disney offers to make up for our Summer vacation sucking.
We will be staying on Disney property for the first time and for this trip we have decided to stay at AoA in the Little Mermaid room my girls and I adore Ariel so it was a no brainer especially after the hubby said no to the LK suite (he thought it was hideous
) I have enjoyed seeing all the great pictures people have posted of the resort and that has only make me feel even better at staying at this resort over the others.
First off I guess I’ll start with introductions. I’m Kasey, I’m 26 years old and mom of two beautiful girls and wife to the most incredible man I’ve ever known. I’m a stay at home mommy, plus I run a small daycare from my home. I have three kids that I watch, a boy (5) his sister (3) and another baby (1 yr). My house is always hoping and full of kids. I'm also in the middle of writing my first novel (paranormal romance, I love the supernatural) I love Disney and am very excited about this trip, while we were on our Summer Vacation I spent a lot of down time planning and going over things for this vacation!
My husband Marshall is 31 years old and is one hard working man. This wonderful man not only works 40+ hours at his state job but he also gives up his weekends and works at Amazon.com just so I can be a stay at home mommy. And for the past year and a half he has also become a full time student, earning his second bachelor’s degree, this time in computer programming. He graduates next week! I'm one proud wifey! And fingers crossed it pays off and he can get a better job with great benefits so he can leave his part time weekend job!
We met 7 years ago at a place called EDS (now HP) we became the best of friends and fell in love. He took in my beautiful daughter who was only 5 months old when we met and treated her like his. She has never once been referred to as my daughter or his step daughter, in his eyes she is his daughter no matter what DNA says. He says he’s not that into the whole Disney scene but I honestly think he has opened up to it a lot more. He says us “girls” have soften him to the Mouse! He loves going and seeing our girls light up when they see all that wonderfully magic that you can only experience with a Disney Trip!
The hubby and I at our friend's wedding March 2012. Yes we are complete goofballs!
Our oldest daughter is Ms. Amanda Shea age 7! Amanda is my mini me, she is 100% mommy in every way (except she’s blonde and I’m redheaded) My mother says it’s déjà vu looking at her. She is a social bug and my little cheerleader, she’s a big sweetie and loves everyone, she’s mommy’s helper. Amanda has an incredible wit to her, the things that come out of her mouth constantly surprises me, in a good way. She’s a great big sister to Mackenzie and to her other sister Ellie by her biological dad. She is now in the 2nd grade and I just can’t believe how fast she has grown up. Her favorite Disney character is Ariel, which was my favorite princess growing up too. The look on her face the first time we went to Disney and she got to meet Ariel was priceless. It's exactly what this place is all about!
Our youngest is Ms. Mackenzie Leigh age 3. Now she is a split between both daddy and mommy, it’s actually kinda of amazing how she’s so much like me but so much like her daddy. Mackenzie loves and adores all things Disney just like big sis does, but she’s daddy’s girl too so she loves her comic book characters (Her favs are Spider-Man, Iron Man, Superman, Batman and Green Lantern)! Mackenzie has a 3 way tie going between Ariel, Rapunzel and Belle being her favorite Princess. She is our child without fear, and a bit of a loner. She likes having friends to play with but she’ll eventually go off and do her own thing (she gets it from her daddy). Mackenzie has long hair (like mommy’s just except mine isn’t quite as long) it almost touches her bottom. And it’s a huge debate in our household to cut it, the hubby says it needs it, I say it’s too beautiful to cut, so far I’m winning!
Our girls at the same wedding!
Like I said earlier this will be our 3rd trip to WDW. Our first trip was back in 2008, we stayed offsite and did Disney (Magic Kingdom twice and Animal Kingdom once and Seaworld) Our second trip we stayed "on property" but at Bonnett Creek, it’s actually not Disney but still considered to be on their property(at least according to them). That trip we spent part of it with my inlaws and took them to Animal Kingdom. That trip had some very interesting things happened that I wished I had known about DISboards back then to post a TR about it. Anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble on and hopefully I can get the hang of this PTR so I can post our actual TR! Since this is our first Christmas trip, I'm always looking for any advice on how to make it more magical so suggestions are welcome! Only 121 more days to go!!
