Hello, Disers! Welcome to my very first PTR! I’m a newbie at DIS this year and learning as I go, so please bear with me. We are going on our third Disney trip and this year’s will be in December and is a surprise for our girls. Hopefully we can keep it a secret as long as I’m hoping to, which is all the way up to the airport. I have planned for them to have their small travel backpacks with us, and in them I’ll have a “going to WDW tee, princess water bottle (maybe I’m debating on this one because we do get a resort bottle so this may get scratch), A Mickey rice crispy treat (I have family that live in Lakeland that has volunteered to buy and ship them to me, a custom made Disney necklace, Mickey Earrings and their autograph books. And for another special treat, their granny and favorite aunt (my mom and sis) will also be joining us for part of our trip. This will be my mother’s and sister’s first trip to the most magically place on Earth! I can’t wait to share the experience with them! We actually just had a vacation back in June to Destin and I have to say it was the worst vacation in my life. So we desperately need the magic that Disney offers to make up for our Summer vacation sucking.

We will be staying on Disney property for the first time and for this trip we have decided to stay at AoA in the Little Mermaid room my girls and I adore Ariel so it was a no brainer especially after the hubby said no to the LK suite (he thought it was hideous :sad2: ) I have enjoyed seeing all the great pictures people have posted of the resort and that has only make me feel even better at staying at this resort over the others.

First off I guess I’ll start with introductions. I’m Kasey, I’m 26 years old and mom of two beautiful girls and wife to the most incredible man I’ve ever known. I’m a stay at home mommy, plus I run a small daycare from my home. I have three kids that I watch, a boy (5) his sister (3) and another baby (1 yr). My house is always hoping and full of kids. I'm also in the middle of writing my first novel (paranormal romance, I love the supernatural) I love Disney and am very excited about this trip, while we were on our Summer Vacation I spent a lot of down time planning and going over things for this vacation!

My husband Marshall is 31 years old and is one hard working man. This wonderful man not only works 40+ hours at his state job but he also gives up his weekends and works at Amazon.com just so I can be a stay at home mommy. And for the past year and a half he has also become a full time student, earning his second bachelor’s degree, this time in computer programming. He graduates next week! I'm one proud wifey! And fingers crossed it pays off and he can get a better job with great benefits so he can leave his part time weekend job!

We met 7 years ago at a place called EDS (now HP) we became the best of friends and fell in love. He took in my beautiful daughter who was only 5 months old when we met and treated her like his. She has never once been referred to as my daughter or his step daughter, in his eyes she is his daughter no matter what DNA says. He says he’s not that into the whole Disney scene but I honestly think he has opened up to it a lot more. He says us “girls” have soften him to the Mouse! He loves going and seeing our girls light up when they see all that wonderfully magic that you can only experience with a Disney Trip!

The hubby and I at our friend's wedding March 2012. Yes we are complete goofballs!

Our oldest daughter is Ms. Amanda Shea age 7! Amanda is my mini me, she is 100% mommy in every way (except she’s blonde and I’m redheaded) My mother says it’s déjà vu looking at her. She is a social bug and my little cheerleader, she’s a big sweetie and loves everyone, she’s mommy’s helper. Amanda has an incredible wit to her, the things that come out of her mouth constantly surprises me, in a good way. She’s a great big sister to Mackenzie and to her other sister Ellie by her biological dad. She is now in the 2nd grade and I just can’t believe how fast she has grown up. Her favorite Disney character is Ariel, which was my favorite princess growing up too. The look on her face the first time we went to Disney and she got to meet Ariel was priceless. It's exactly what this place is all about!

Our youngest is Ms. Mackenzie Leigh age 3. Now she is a split between both daddy and mommy, it’s actually kinda of amazing how she’s so much like me but so much like her daddy. Mackenzie loves and adores all things Disney just like big sis does, but she’s daddy’s girl too so she loves her comic book characters (Her favs are Spider-Man, Iron Man, Superman, Batman and Green Lantern)! Mackenzie has a 3 way tie going between Ariel, Rapunzel and Belle being her favorite Princess. She is our child without fear, and a bit of a loner. She likes having friends to play with but she’ll eventually go off and do her own thing (she gets it from her daddy). Mackenzie has long hair (like mommy’s just except mine isn’t quite as long) it almost touches her bottom. And it’s a huge debate in our household to cut it, the hubby says it needs it, I say it’s too beautiful to cut, so far I’m winning!

Our girls at the same wedding!

Like I said earlier this will be our 3rd trip to WDW. Our first trip was back in 2008, we stayed offsite and did Disney (Magic Kingdom twice and Animal Kingdom once and Seaworld) Our second trip we stayed "on property" but at Bonnett Creek, it’s actually not Disney but still considered to be on their property(at least according to them). That trip we spent part of it with my inlaws and took them to Animal Kingdom. That trip had some very interesting things happened that I wished I had known about DISboards back then to post a TR about it. Anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble on and hopefully I can get the hang of this PTR so I can post our actual TR! Since this is our first Christmas trip, I'm always looking for any advice on how to make it more magical so suggestions are welcome! Only 121 more days to go!! :thumbsup2

Wow! What a day yesterday was! The battle for ADR's got a bit brutal on some of our boards yesterday. It was very sad that some people were upset at other's for getting reservations. Although I was one of the lucky ones that secured a time and almost the exact time and date I wanted. I got an ADR for December 20th at 4:55 when I was aiming at 5. And we plan to eat lunch there either that day or the next day, we haven't made up our minds on that one just yet.

Now that all my ADR's and BBB have been secured and next week I'll make our final payment on our trip.:cheer2: I feel that I can finally feel relaxed. I'm starting to plan out other things for the trip. Such as organizing and gathering what I want to put into the travel backpacks. I have decided my next project will be ribbon flip flops and have found a great site that has Disney Christmas Ribbon on it. I figured the flip flops can be in their bags as well, as we'll be flying from cold weather to likely warmer weather (hopefully) and their boots will probably be too hot for them when we get to Florida. :beach:

To be honest I'm not great with the crafts, but I have a good friend who's great at making bows and other things and has volunteered to help me out. She lives several hours away but plans on coming up to visit next month and we'll work on them together. Well, actually she'll work on them and I'll observe and making snacks and crack jokes because that's what I do! I bring the fun into it and she makes them all prettiful!

So that's my next plan is to make the flip flops and keep them hidden from two very sneaky girls. I bought Mackenzie one of the limited edition Rapunzel wedding dress (desperately wanted Amanda one too but they were sold out of her size everywhere I looked). Anyway I had it in my closest hidden behind some clothes, until the girls played hide and seek one rainy day and it was discovered. It's hanging in my closest now and she's had it on a few times but I'm saving it for her BBB dress up clothes. So I'm not as slick as I want to be when it comes to hiding things, even this vacation is killing me not to be able to tell them. But I know in the end it'll all be worth it when I see their reaction to the surprise. So wish me luck!

Well I guess that's it for now, I hoping to get some other things done for the vacation this week and I'll update when I do! And since this is my first PTR and will be doing my first TR after we return, can someone please tell me how to add chapters to the TRs? Thanks!

Thanks for joining in and your kind words for my girls!

I'm sorry you didn't get reservations for BOG, you can till do lunch there without a reservation. Know it's not the same but it's a start. I'll be taking lots of pics f it for the trip report so stay tuned!

Despite waking up to a very sick 3 year old today, however something good has actually came from this morning. I was able to make our final payment for our trip!! WhooHoo!! :cool1: Despite having until November to pay off the vacation I decided to get it done now so we could save everything we can for extra goodies down there.

Now that the vacation is paid for I'm so much more relaxed (well as relax as I can be with a sick baby). The ribbon has been ordered to make their Christmas Flip Flops (being from KY that just feels so strange to say) and I'm going to go get the actually shoes today! We'll be working on those in two weeks when my bestie comes in! Now I've just got to decide on which family Disney shirts to get us on Etsy! There are so many great choices on there! I could spend all day on there!

I guess that's all for this update, sorry it's so short but I've gotta take care of my sick DD!

9 months down and just under 3 to go. :cool1: I never thought that when I booked this vacation last year that I would be so excited for anything. And if possible this year has went by both slow and fast. It's amazing how time can move so fast for something until you realize you're counting down to a vacation. Our summer vacation came and went very quickly because we weren't really excited for it. It was nice not to have to work and spend time with family, but we were dreading spending the week with certain controlling people! :offtopic: Anywho back to this vacation, it's nice to get to be excited about it and I'm hoping that the girls will be even more excited about it than I am now. I can't believe that I've kept this secret for so long now, we tried to keep it a secret last year and it only lasted a month and I just couldn't keep it in anymore. Although it's getting harder as we are getting closer I'm still maintaining my stance in not telling them!

Sadly I have to report that we did not get the flip flops done when my friend Tiff visited. We got so wrapped up in catching up and our other best friend had just had a baby and she was seeing him for the first time., so time just slip away from us. She did take them back home with her to work on them, but ran out of ribbon before finishing them so I had to order more ribbon and ship it to her. So hopefully they'll be done this week and send them to me or at least send me pictures. I'm excited to see how they turned out!!

I did manage to book our flight since my last post, we'll be driving up to Columbus Sunday to spend the night with the inlaws (and the girls will think that's where were staying all week so luggage will not be suspicious) and we'll fly out Monday morning at 8. Which will have us landing after 10 in Orlando where my mom and sister will be meeting us to surprise the girls even more. My mom rarely goes on vacations like this, she hasn't been to Orlando at all (neither has my sister) she usually takes long weekends to Gatlinburg so I'm excited to get to share with her some Disney magic. pixiedust:

We'll leave Orlando early evening so after our breakfast at Cafe May Cape at 9 we'll head out to DTD to do some last minute Christmas shopping and bringing things back for our family/friends! :santa: We may have to squeeze in another T-Rex or RFC visit. I love RFC a lot it's one of my favorite places to eat, the girls love it too so it'll be a toss between the two. Although T-Rex probably will win because there's not many of them and there's a RFC in Nashville which is close to our friend Tiffany's! But who knows we may just try something completely different since we'll be having dinner at both places through the week. This is one part of the vacation that I'm not going to plan out, I'll just go with the flow!

I guess that's really it for this update, we've got a trip to the Disney store to make today! Princess Mackenzie princess: was the flower girl in a wedding this weekend and got a gift card and she's dying to use it! So we're off to spend some money! :cloud9: But don't tell my husband!

Yay to being able to keep the surprise so far!!! Hope you are able to keep it til the day!!

That is awesome about your mom and sister!!!

Also yay for a paid off trip and for flights booked!

We love RFC!!

Have fun shopping!!!

After much hard work and buying one sticker machine. The girl's flip flops are finished. Tiffany has sent me pictures, I do not currently have them in hand so more pictures will come once I do. I wanna say a big thank you to the bestie for all her hard work. I had an image of what I wanted and she brought it to life! :worship: They're absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to see them on the girls! Another thing that's going to be hard to keep from them.

But we are nearing the two month mark! With only 68 days left, exciting is definitely building in me! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: we still have bows to make and shirts to design. And this year I'll be asking a Disney Christmas wreath! It obviously won't be going with us but I found a design I love and it fits with our Christmas theming! I'll be all alone on this adventure so wish me luck as craft I am not. I can think it but executing it is another thing. I'll keep you guys updated on my progress.

Here's the girls shoes! Are they not the coolest ever?!

Wow! It's been a while since I did an update. Things around my house have been very hectic, we are ending our cheerleading for the season this Saturday. My husband was offered and has accepted a new job where he'll finally be able to quit his weekend job!:thumbsup2 And being a Twihard, my friends and I had to throw a party for the last movie and we are well aware of how nerdy that makes us. But honestly it was a very sophisticated party. We have also been remodeling :artist: our downstairs which has been a job in itself!

We are almost down to the one month mark! The excitement building within me is about to make me combust!:hyper: The girls still have no idea and that's getting harder. Mackenzie has watched the Netflixs Disney park documentary so many times she probably knows it by heart. She now wakes up most morning begging to go to Disney World. To satisfy my Disney craving and her's as well we did make a trip in the Disney Store yesterday. We got our Disney Chase Debit cards in the mail on Monday and got to use them! For those who have Chase this card is a must, it gives you all the rewards of the credit card with your debit card and it's free to get. They've got four designs, Classic Mickey, Mickey and Friend, Dalmatians and the Castle at night. I got the Castle and the hubby got classic Mickey.

I still haven't got the girl's flip flops from Tiffany, she's currently working on their hairbows and will send them all together. She's also making them a necklace for Christmas with Minnie's head and their name in the middle. So I'm patiently waiting on those. I have finally found some awesome shirts courtesy of Etsy! So I'll be ordering them next week!

I do have some sad news to report, my mom and sister will no longer be joining us on this vacation. My mom work will not approve her time because they need everyone the week before Christmas. Apparently it's ridiculously busy at a Court House the week before Christmas, which is very sad :(. It's the Holidays we should all put our differences aside and get along this time of year. And my sister who is a college student has decided to get a part time job and they won't let her off work either. :furious: But it's ok, it's still Disney at Christmas :santa:!! We are sure to have a good time anyways!

Next weekend, I'll be working on my awesome Disney Christmas wreath and will post pictures when it's done. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is just two weeks away! My husband and I will be putting up our tree and everything the day after. We don't believe in putting it up before and like to celebrate on Holiday before another. Thanksgiving gets overlooked a lot and it sad because it's an important day too! So hopefully I'll get my wreath finished in plenty of time, we got a Christmas Mickey and Minnie plush yesterday at the Disney Store. They're super cute and can't wait to get them on the wreath! :santa:

I have started packing some clothes, it's mostly new things that were bought specifically for the trip, Mackenzie's Rapunzel's dress and their shorts and bathing suits since they won't be needing them anytime soon! I'm hoping to get a trip up to the Disney outlet soon too!

That's it for this update! Ta ta for now!:cool1:

Our Mickey mail came yesterday! :cheer2: It took all I had not to jump up dancing! But the girls were in view of me and I couldn't let on that something awesome came! Although my inside were screaming and dancing around like the Disney Freak that I am, I was very calm and collective. But as soon as the kids were in bed I hope onto mine and did my Mickey Mail Dance!:dancer::dancer:

Although I'm still super disappointed my mother and sister will not be joining us, know it'll be an unforgettable trip! The girls "Going to WDW" shirts have been ordered, their flip flops and hair bows will be here soon! I'm narrowing down what new DSI games to get them for the plane trip, I've got them their small coloring books and crayons. Their shorts and swimming suits are packed! Things are finally coming together! pixiedust:pixiedust:

We are no longer able to say we have X amount of months to go yesterday we crossed the 3 week mark! My heart is about to explode with pixie dust pixiedust:pixiedust:. We received their "Going to WDW"shirts came. Here's a picture of them
a476229b6c7933fa07cde04b40a97f15.jpg

Sadly we still haven't got our flip flops and bows, I had to get a little mean about them so we should have them no later than next week. Or we better! That'll e the two week mark and I always like to have most things packed by that time! We got the girls two new DSI games from the pane ride, we went with Brave for DD 7 y/o and Disney Princess game for DD 3 y/o. I think instead of getting them treats for their bags from DTD and have them shipped, I'll just make some of my own to try it out.

I've been dipping my fett into the crafting department myself so I think I may be able to pull off making some cute treats! I'm learning as I go but it's also been really fun. I made our Christmas wreath and some Mickey ornaments for the girls Disney tree. Depending on time I may be making more crafts before the trip. And I'll post them when they're done. Here's pics of the wreath and ornaments. 20 days to go
