After we dropped our kids at their various venues I would have killed to find a bathroom. Now if you have ever been to a city like San Francisco that is almost impossible. It is unlike any other city I have visited. There are not gas stations at nearly every corner. I now understand why the gas in San Francisco is so expensive.
I finally decided that Ghirardelli Square had bathrooms so that was where we headed. Of course our GPS is lame and if you don't have actually addresses it isn't going to find it. Thankfully I found the 49 mile scenic drive and we were on our way. Whew!
Pressing business taken care of and we were on our way. It was time to explore. We hit some fun little shops like the one where I got myself nesting doll measuring spoons. I love nesting dolls so I was thrilled. We visited this pampered pet shop and wow what a place. They had all sorts of things for little dogs. Poor Shelby the only thing they had for big dogs was life jackets and since we don't have a boat she was doomed to be left out.
But, the place that attracted my attention was Kara's Cupcakes!! Oh my goodness!! I love me some cupcakes.
We got the ones on the left. They are spice cupcakes with banana and caramel. Oh worth they lovely.
Because I wanted to validate our parking ticket I made sure we spent the $20 so we got some more for the road. We got different types to share. A dark chocolate velvet cupcake, a chocolate peanut butter, and a lemony one. We took our loot and went.
We sat down on a bench so that we could watch the world go by and I could check on our kids. I wasn't thrilled leaving Loren and Kody at the Warfield after I saw it. Wow not in the best neighborhood. Kacy and her friend David were at the Fillmore which was in a better neighborhood thank goodness. Everyone was okay but I will tell you it was a learning experience for Kody and Loren. Their venue was next to a strip club.
We had company at the bench. I am not a fan of pigeons but I do think they are interesting.
This fountain is up on the top floor of Ghirardelli Square. This is the family friendly side.
I thought this was cool. This is one of those old quarter ride on toys that you used to see all the time in front of stores.
I love Betty Boop so I had to take this. That and the cable car was a cool bonus.
I loved the gas/hog thing here.
I am not sure what this is used for but I thought it was cool.
Now, I am not much for hanging out in one place when there is so much about San Francisco that I want to see so we were on our way again. Note ate this point parking is outrageous there. Seriously outrageous. $11.25 to park there for one hour and seven minutes. Thankfully we had that validated so we only had to pay $2.25. It is more expensive than
Disneyland, $32 a day.
