Ticket buying question??? Can I buy a ticket for a friend on my Disney account if I am not going to the event? I live out of state and will not be going to the event. My friend is a local of Disneyland and can not afford to buy a ticket. I want to surprise my friend and buy the ticket without them knowing. How can I make this work? Thanks to all in this community that are sharing info on this event.

Argh. I had thought at T-1 to ticket purchasing day that Disney Parks would have announced the time the tickets go on sale. :surfweb:

They said on FB to keep an eye on the page ON March 4 to be “among the first to know” when tickets go on sale. That indicates they aren’t announcing the time until tomorrow. Unclear whether there will be warning or just “they’re on sale now!”

Are we to assume that Buena Vista street will be open on the days TOD isn't running- Tuesdays and Wednesdays?

I don’t think so - from the Disney Parks Blog article, it looks like BVS will be closed for the duration of ToD -

Downtown Disney District will remain open seven days a week with unique dining and shopping that includes Black Tap Craft Burgers and Shakes, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, Naples Ristorante e Bar, World of Disney and Star Wars Trading Post, which recently opened in a new location. Buena Vista Street will remain open as an extension of the Downtown Disney District through March 14, and will be closed beginning March 15. Beginning March 18, Buena Vista Street will become part of A Touch of Disney.

Seems silly to not open BVS during those 2 days the festival isn't taking place.

The only reason that BVS was open at all was because the park wasn't open and they couldn't really charge admission. It's not something they wanted - just something they could do.

Now that the park will be "open", there's really no reason to continue doing it. Downtown Disney has enough going on by itself to satisfy the two lowest-attendance days of the week.

If they did open it, it would also be a discouragement against buying a ticket to the event. As someone asked earlier: "Why spend money on the event if I can go to BVS for free on Tuesday?"

One would assume the reason for attending TOD would be to see more of the park, see characters and sample the offerings of the event. 🤷‍♀️
Still doesn't make much sense to me for Disney to cut cast members hours and close up shops that could be generating income on those days. But that's just me.🤔

It is sort of comparable to public transportation, except public transport is a necessary item in most cases, and Disneyland is a luxury. And since the state has said "No rides" and they will be the ones to approve the reopening, Disney isn't going to endanger that.

IN MY OPINION - It really depends on IF AB 420 passes. Without AB 420, maybe Sept? With AB 420, we stand a chance by Memorial Day. I know a lot of people think it could be sooner if AB 420 passes (we could reach Orange if all the planets align by mid-April) but thinking of all the maintenance to get rides back up after sitting idle for more than a year gives me pause to give them more time. I mean, the Wheel of Death was in pieces a couple weeks ago when we were there. We could see soft openings by mid May, but really thinking end of May at the earliest. Will be very happy to eat my words.

Rides are cycled as a part of their maintenance, they didn’t sit idle.😊

I called (because I had to call anyways, we had a lost refund check) and also asked a plaid vest who knows people who know things. No one is saying a word about the time.

I mean... smart on one hand. There are a million AP’s having massive withdraws and foaming at the mouth ready to crash the server that already is iffy at best 🤣 ok, me. I’m that person

I’m guessing it is a reset issue. Too much to move/changeover on off days maybe?

Not cutting hours. 5 days a week is full time. It is too difficult to turn the park over and close off for only 2 days, just to turn around and redo it back to open.

Interesting, as the people I know who are still working have said they were pretty much idle unless they were among the rides being refurbed.

Also, I THINK the rides will also have to have a DOSH inspection prior to guests riding.

The tickets for Disney After Dark events have gone on sale at very random times. Looking at the timestamps on the email receipts from the ones I've bought tickets to, they've gone live just after midnight, at ~2am, at ~6am, and at ~7am. I'm just assuming these could go on sale at any point and I'm prepared for a long night head. I also got my first corona shot today so it's definitely going to be a pleasant night, haha o_O

Glad I didn't bother to get up overnight! But I am checking the site and DLLP Facebook group at the top of every hour.
