Disney is usually great at creating problems and then offering a paid solution.

In this case, they didn't create the problem, but they definitely found a paid solution. And yes, it's designed to capitalize on the diehards.

My reaction to this was:
1. That seems expensive.
2. If we still lived in southern CA, I'd want to go.
3. Why is it at DCA and not DL? Bigger walkways, so they can get more people in there?

I actually thought the $75 price point was reasonable -- I thought they would push a $100+ entry point. And honestly, the $25 dining credit with entry surprised me (I thought there wouldn't be anything).

I'm sure that by only offering tickets through early April means they will see how popular this event is and if it justifies a price increase.

But yes, this is a money grab -- but I'll try to be there at least for one day!

I’m basically counting it as $50/pp since you get the $25 food credit. Which honestly isn’t too bad if you ask me. Especially with photopass included. The parking is what it is. Nice to not have to pay another $20 to park, but multiple people going in one car makes it a waste. Either way I’m happy it gets some cast members back to work and will try to attend one of the days.

$75 to get into DCA just to spend money and not ride anything. What a joke.
When we were local APs, we regularly visited the parks for a few hours without riding much at all, especially when it was crowded. Often on Friday evenings after work. Since the target for this event is local former APs, there’ll be a lot of demand for it.

I don't mind the cost. I just was hoping there would be more to it. There is so many things they could do like the WOC fountains doing short sequences, a scavenger hunt, live music, displays from the Disney archives, projections, etc. But then again, maybe too much offerings and it basically is the same as opening the parks.

I am worried about the quality of offerings after the park opens with all the cuts and this didn't comfort me the quality would be there.

Question. Can you use the $25- food credit at LLL or Carthay instead of one of the food booths?

It seems odd to me that you have been able to get into DCA for free and dine at some of the places. Why would you pay $75? Because more places you can pay for food are going to be open?

Hmm, since my daughter and I meet there and thus have 2 cars that we pay to park, the cost of this is really about $25./pp when I factor in parking and the food credit. The thing is, we spend a lot of money eating and drinking at DL. It's rare that either of us doesn't buy any merchandise. Honestly, this thing could cost us hundreds of dollars for a few hours.

With that said, it's likely that I will go if I can get a date that works for both of us. The main reason for going is that our last visit was scheduled for the day the parks closed. Since we missed that, my birthday, mother's day, 4th of July, her birthday (we always have a day at DL for that), Halloweentime and Christmas - I can actually look at this as a huge cost savings over what I would have spent on all of those other DL visits. popcorn:::drinking1

Because it won't be free anymore.

(The last day it's free is March 14th.)
