A thought for the Day

2 Corinthians 4
18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is
unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is
eternal.

Peace to All

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm. . . . As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

-- Audrey Hepburn

"The power of accurate observation is frequently called cynicism by those who don't have it."

- George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950)

A bone to the dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog.

"The cynic is one who never sees a good quality in a man and never fails to see a bad one. He is the human owl, vigilant in darkness and blind to light, mousing for vermin, and never seeing noble game. The cynic puts all human actions into two classes - openly bad and secretly bad. "

Henry Ward Beecher

Great thought, DD!! And Landshark, Henry Beecher sounds like he was a very wise man.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other.

-- George Eliot

Actually, EROS, DD is far better at ignoring you than you are at ignoring her.;)

Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themsleves.-- James M. Barrie

See the best

There is a world that you will soon come to know. There is a life that you will soon begin to live. There is a person whom you will one day become, and that day is fast approaching. Can you see it in your mind?
Yes, you can see it even now. For the things you most consistently visualize today are what will define your reality tomorrow. Where your most sincere and abiding thoughts are now is where the rest of you will soon be. Whatever you can see most intensely in your mind's eye, you are already beginning to become.

The choice you have is not whether to visualize, but what to visualize. For you are always visualizing something. So choose to see the best, in clear and rich detail. And let your most positive, brilliant vision guide you steadily there.

-- Ralph Marston

"It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity."

- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

There have been some absolutely wonderful posts here lately! I just went through and read a lot of them and they are really great! Thank you all!!!

Have you had a kindness shown?
Pass it on;
'Twas not given for thee alone,
Pass it on;
Let it travel down the years,
Let it wipe another's tears,
'Till in Heaven the deed appears--
Pass it on.
~ Rev. Henry Burton, Pass It On

We will speed the day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing ...Free at last, Free at last, Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last.

--Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

- Reinhold Niebuhr

The next hour

In just one hour from now, your world can be an entirely different place than it is this moment. You can make it a better place as a result of what you do with this time that you now have.
One hour from now, you can be well on your way toward your most treasured dream. One hour from now, you can experience the exhilarating freedom of moving surely and steadily beyond your most difficult challenge.

In just one hour from now, you can be looking back with satisfaction at how much you've been able to accomplish. In just one hour's time, your whole attitude can be a thousand times more positive and productive than it is even now.

Yes, you could spend the next hour wandering aimlessly through a fog of anger, despair or frustration, and if you wish you'll find plenty of excuses for doing so. Or you can really and truly live the next hour with energy and vitality, looking positively forward with the very best you have to give.

The next hour is absolutely critical, for it is the one over which you now have control. You have every reason, every resource and every ability to make it the very best you've ever lived.

-- Ralph Marston

When God is going to do a wonderful thing, He begins with a difficulty. When God is going to do a very wonderful thing, He begins with an impossibility.

--Charles Inwood
