A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

I have no pics of my daughter. She actually went trick or treating with my neighbor and got ready at their house. Since my kids range from 25 to 9 this was the first time in 20+ years I have not taken a kid out. I was a little glad to get to sit home in peace but a little sad that I wasn't going.

That last one is cool! There are some creative CMs at the resorts.

Yeah, that was the first time I had ever paid attention to them doing that. I don't spend a lot of time over at luggage services, but the cab dropped us off there, so that's why I noticed it.

CBR looks very neat! Was there a lot of variety at the food court?

They have different stations - pizza, sandwiches, and such - but as soon as I saw the chicken and broccoli, I knew exactly what I wanted.

The pictures of CBR look so great. I also would love to try out the zero entry pool.

I doubt I'll get over there this trip, but I look forward to going to see the finished pool on a future trip. It looks very interesting, and it should be a huge hit with kids.

:hmghost: HAPPY HALLOWEEN :hmghost: to memom, jill, brooklynn, john, trent, drew, kristy.....and anyone else i missed!!!!!

i love this picture - either erica or myself (can't remember which) took it at MNSSHP as we were leaving. thought i'd share it to put everyone in the halloween spirit. i love how they put in the fog for the party...so spooky!

That's a great picture! Don't you know how fun it must have been for those at Magic Kingdom last night?!?!?

And thanks. We hope you had a good one, too!

I live in Massachusetts, and we get that too, trust me! I work as a front-end supervisor in a grocery store, so I've gotten to witness it firsthand for years. My mom thinks it's because a lot of people remember the infamous blizzard of '78--they predicted light snow, or just a few inches, I think, and it ended up being a full-out blizzard. Schools were closed for a week and no one was allowed out to drive, except for police, firemen, and ambulance drivers. Granted, this WAS thirty years ago, and technology has come a long way, but people still freak out at the mention of snow. If they start mentioning a nor'easter, forget it!

Yep, that stands out quite distinctly for me. :goodvibes

I'm really glad that we finally settled on February, just for that reason. It was either February, April, or June, and we quickly eliminated June, just due to the heat. April would've been good, but Easter falls around the same week that we would have gone, so February it was!

We're staying at Pop again, too :cloud9: so reading your report is getting me soooo much more excited for our trip! One thing that I would like to do during our time there (since we're there for a week!), is do a little resort-hopping. I'm making a "to-do" list, I think.

Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Whenever the threat of snow is in the air here, you can bet the opening report of the evening news of all the channels will be live from some grocery store! :rotfl:

February seems like a good choice. And it happens to be first among your choices, so you don't have a long time to wait!

Thanks for the invite MeMom, but we're not coming in until the Sunday (Nov. 30), as it's not a holiday for us up here in Canada! But I hope you all have fun! Happy Halloween!

We'll be driving home on the 30th. We're going to probably make one last sweep through Fantasyland for Brooklynn, do our last minute shopping, get something to eat, and then hit the road.

Happy Halloween!!!!

MeMom - Your pictures of CBR brought back so many memories. That is where Joe and I stayed the first time we went to disney as a couple. that was back in May of 2004. I cannot believe I been to Disney 11 times since then. i cried like a little baby when we left in 04 b/c I did not know when we would get to go again....lol
Jill -- Brooklynn looks so cute in her costume. I hope she got may treats.
Have a wonderful weekend!

She has more candy than she'd need in a year. Jill said, of course, that she'll pick out a few goodies and then the rest would mysteriously disappear. John is a candy eater, so I'm sure he'll find a good place for it.

Happy Dress Up Day! Brooklynn is just adorable! :lovestruc Love the pics and seeing "everyone and everything" Disney!!!! Here are some pics as you asked....can you guess who these girls are?????

All the girls are so cute! Thanks so much for sharing those pictures. It must have been a lot of fun at your house! Brooklynn would have joined right in there with them with all of that dressing up.

The 'disguise' on the little girl on the hayride is cute.

The scary eye picture - WHOA! I guess she thought that was quite funny!

I guess you have about thirty pounds of candy at your house right now, don't you????

So MeMom, I have to ask...

Did you have "fall parties" at school today? My 2nd grader did. I get such I kick out of that. I understand why the schools have changed it but I remember having halloween parties at school when I was a kid that included all the kids marching around the schoolyard in our costumes, so fun!

we did trick-or-treating tonight. This year the town decided to only have it for 1 1/2 hours, it really seemed like a short time. maybe because it was 60 degrees out when we started at 5:30, usually it's in the 40's. This was much nicer!

Happy Halloween everyone!

My team teacher and I don't really do parties as far as games and such. We usually just keep it low key and do a snack, a short video, and then go outside and let them run their 'wildness' off. Yesterday, I took both classes in my room while she set up the food in her room. I showed a 30 minute video, and when she was ready, they went over a few at a time to get their food. We took it all outside, because the weather was great at that time of the day. They ate and played until time to go in for dismissal.

Jill's pre-school had a Fall Festival with games and activities, and she said her kids were all jumping around everywhere with excitement.

When I talked to Brooklynn yesterday, she told me she was wearing light up Halloween socks. She thought she was looking pretty spiffy!

I have no pics of my daughter. She actually went trick or treating with my neighbor and got ready at their house. Since my kids range from 25 to 9 this was the first time in 20+ years I have not taken a kid out. I was a little glad to get to sit home in peace but a little sad that I wasn't going.

Enjoy the peaceful days you get. Between all those great kids and the tons of grandkids you're going to have, you'll have plenty of wild ones ahead!

On to a day at Epcot.

Brooklynn woke up to breakfast in bed.

IMG_2483.jpg

It was just a few inches away from being breakfast in head!

I'd be happy to wake up to this this morning.

IMG_2484.jpg

Dressed and ready to go.

IMG_2486.jpg

While we were waiting for Jill and John to gather up, Brooklynn and I went walking. She wanted to play Twister, so we did.

Make that, she did.

She needs a little more practice on how to play the game.

IMG_2488.jpg

How many times did you really say this back in the day?

IMG_2491.jpg

I guess I took a shopping picture before I got started on the day.
I know that surprises everyone.

Did you notice the ticket taker? She's reading the paper while on the job, so that's no different than us sneaking in a Dis moment or two these days, right?

Very important questions are asked so that you can determine your future.

IMG_2524.jpg

IMG_2527.jpg

Looks like some of our group will become oceanographers someday.

IMG_2541.jpg

They don't appear to be excited about the job.

Then we just spent some time wandering around and doing some activities.

IMG_2542.jpg

Coming soon - later today, probably - we explore a house of the future.

IMG_2546.jpg

I'm off to the grocery store while it is nice and uncrowded. I'll be back before most of you ever wake up, so it'll be like I was never gone! ;)

Oh, yeah, I must mention that it is now officially November, so we can start saying, "We're going to Disney World this month!"

Hurray for going to Disney World this month!!! I know you are just as excited as can be! :goodvibes

Wish I had some Mickey waffles this morning -- those photos really made my stomach growl!

I love going to the grocery store so early in the morning. I don't work on Friday, so after I drop the kids off at school, I go. I think that time is the only time that Wal-Mart is not crowded. I am so glad you go to Disney this month. We have 48 days until we go and I am so excited.

That's a great picture! Don't you know how fun it must have been for those at Magic Kingdom last night?!?!?

i heard MNSSHP was sold out last night. i bet it was crazy! but fun.

that is some ROCKIN' hair! :thumbsup2

that looks like the "peeking upsidedown through my legs" game to me! :rotfl:

Oh, yeah, I must mention that it is now officially November, so we can start saying, "We're going to Disney World this month!"

:woohoo: my first thought this morning was, it's november....we're going to disney world next month!!!! great minds think alike.

one question about spaceship earth - when you have three people in one car, do they only take a picture of 2 of them to fit with the story at the end? just wondering b/c i'm sure anna, chris & luke will ride together.

Its so funny that you mention the panic when it snows down south. I can remember my first year in Georgia and there was a dusting of snow and everything closed. It was soo funny to me, I remember calling my DMom and we had a good laugh. The joke was on me when we went home for Xmas that year and there was lots of snow and we had no snow tires. I was never so glad to return to the sunny south. Everyone would make fun of me for wearing shorts all year. It was so weird to send my DS to kindergarden in a coat in the morning and he would return in the afternoon in shorts. DS did miss the snow, he is an outdoors kind of kid. He didn't learn to skate until he was 6yrs old when we came back to Canada. He did learn to skate very fast, once he started. He is very athletic.

I love the pic of Brooklynn with her bed hair and her waffles. How cute to see. I have wanted the Mickey waffle maker for some time now, I see them on EBay but havn't got one because the shipping is so expensive. I told DMom I wanted to get a waffle maker like the one in hotels, that flips over and is done in minutes. I think its so neat how it works so fast. Do you know what I'm talking about?

I can relate to Jill's problem with having too much candy, I live on a private street and Lexi was the only one out last night, all the neighbours bought tons for her. She is loaded up. Somehow I think her brother (pirate: ) will take some when he gets home as he was "too old" to go out himself. He went out for dinner with friends instead. (I am loving his new job as he never asks me for money anymore) :thumbsup2

I miss getting to shop in the morning, I'm usually at work. My WalMart recently started opening 24 hrs, I'm so excitted about that. :yay: I just laughed because the symbol for WalMart is the :) .

Only a few weeks until your trip !!! :woohoo:

Hope Drew is feeling more like himself. $19,000 bill, Oh my gosh !!!

Megablocks - So excitted for your Pre TR. Whats the temp like in February? Are the waterparks open then?

twob4him - My DD8 loved your costumes. She wants to marry Troy. She doesn't get that he is like 23yrs old? :rotfl:

sunny stace - :welcome: from a fellow Ontarian !!! Whats up with the snow so early???

Have a good weekend. Off to clean....:laundy: and work later today.

Brooklynn has rockin hair a lot of mornings! Ye sthey only take pictures of two people so I always just hold Brooklynn up in front of my own face for the picture.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween. We just hit a few friends houses last night, but that was plenty Brooklynn's Mickey pumpkin was overflowing. We had our fall festival at school so John came to play with Brooklynn since I had to supervise my class. When the festivities were over and I went to round up the small blonde to dress her as Tinkerbell she had a giant brown football painted right in the middle of her forehead! So while we ate dinner at Steak and Shake I would wet a napkin and scrub til she hollered and then stop. I finally did get it off though!

sunny stace - :welcome: from a fellow Ontarian !!! Whats up with the snow so early???

Oh we got this fabulous (sarcasm anyone? ;)) freak snowstorm out of nowhere on Tuesday night! Crazy heavy wet snow and then regular snow on top of that so it knocked down all kinds of power lines and huge trees and their branches and such all over the city! :headache: And of course it only hit London, nowhere else! However we're hardly the first place in the country to get snow. And since the next day it went back up to 16 degrees, it's all gone now! :woohoo:

MeMom - sorry we'll miss you but I look forward to seeing a trip report! I know you guys will have an amazing Thanksgiving!

I absolutely love the pictures of Brooklyn! She is just the cutest little thing! I'd like just scoop her up and put her in my pocket! :cutie: I'm sure she'll be a great big "sissa"! I think she and I have the same hairdo right now (I have yet to straighten mine this morning), it's just stickin' out all over the place this morning!

Love Brooklynn's "bedhead." Hannah's hair looks like that most mornings too!

We had a fabulous time at trunk and treat last night! Here are pictures of "HannahBelle" and "YodaOwen." There are lots more pictures on the blog!

It's starting to sink in. School is still overwhelming right now, but on weekends, I get the chance to think about it. We're almost at the three week mark.

I'm in the stage where we're eating down what we have for a few days, so a combo breakfast would probably be a hit around here. I was going to go to the store this morning, but we're okay on milk and bread, and I still had cube steaks and pork chops in the freezer, so I decided to try to hold off for as long as I could. I just had to have a new water heater put in, so that put a little bite in my budget this month. I decided we're going to do with what we have for at least a couple more days. When we get to meals of broccoli and pancakes or oatmeal and carrots, then I'll break down and go. ;)

I love going to the grocery store so early in the morning. I don't work on Friday, so after I drop the kids off at school, I go. I think that time is the only time that Wal-Mart is not crowded. I am so glad you go to Disney this month. We have 48 days until we go and I am so excited.

Yep, I'm in and out of the store with just the stockers to dodge in the aisles early in the morning.

We've got three weeks and a couple of days, and with all that has to be done at school, it is truly going by quickly. There definitely has not been a slow spot in this wait!

i heard MNSSHP was sold out last night. i bet it was crazy! but fun.

Michelle and The DISney Family were there last night. I know they'll have great pictures when they return.

Even though you missed a lot of it, what did Luke think of Disney on Ice?

Jill already got your SSE question. If they all want to be on a card, they'll have to ride twice and take turns with Luke.

I told DMom I wanted to get a waffle maker like the one in hotels, that flips over and is done in minutes. I think its so neat how it works so fast. Do you know what I'm talking about?

I have a Mickey waffle maker. I think I got it from JCP actually. We've had it a while.

It is nice when the kids are making their own money, especially with how much things are going up every day.

Our Super Walmart is 24/7, too. We're very close to Kroger and Target, so I go there a lot.

Yeah, I told Drew he better get a good job to pay that hospital bill. His expression was a stunned one, naturally. The insurance should cover the major portion of it, and whatever we owe, we'll just have to do it in small monthly payments as best we can.

Oh we got this fabulous (sarcasm anyone? ;)) freak snowstorm out of nowhere on Tuesday night! Crazy heavy wet snow and then regular snow on top of that so it knocked down all kinds of power lines and huge trees and their branches and such all over the city! Downed power lines are no good! We've only had power outages on rare occasions here, and it is not fun, so I feel very sorry for those who have no power.

She will be a good big sis to AvaGarrett. She calls the baby Baby Kermit for now. Jill said she thinks everyone has a Baby Kermit in their tummies. She can't even comprehend what is going on right now. I think the final names are Ava for a girl and Garrett for a boy, so for now, I'm calling it AvaGarrett. Hopefully, she'll know in about three weeks whether we drop the Ava part of the name or the Garrett part of the name.

So, how come we don't get a picture of your bedhead???

Love Brooklynn's "bedhead." Hannah's hair looks like that most mornings too!

We had a fabulous time at trunk and treat last night! Here are pictures of "HannahBelle" and "YodaOwen." There are lots more pictures on the blog!

I actually had just looked at those sweet pictures early this morning. They are precious! I think Owen may have captured his granddad's heart, huh?

After SSE and a Kidcot stop, we entered the House of the Future.

IMG_2549.jpg

IMG_2550.jpg

This TV did all kinds of cool things!

IMG_2551.jpg

In the future, book is still a book.

IMG_2552.jpg

To help tell the stocks:

IMG_2553.jpg

Wonder what colors it has been over the past few weeks?

Fine dining.

IMG_2554.jpg

Nice enough, but not very comfy cozy, if you ask me.

IMG_2555.jpg

Brooklynn would enjoy this swinging bed.

IMG_2556.jpg

A magic carpet to fly you off to wherever.

IMG_2560.jpg

No, not really. Just a place to sit, I'm afraid.

A drum set that made all kinds of interesting sounds.

IMG_2561.jpg

I can see Dawn and her crew enjoying some time with that.

Bathroom.

IMG_2562.jpg

I can't remember what Brooklynn was waving here.

IMG_2563.jpg

A nice, neat garage.

IMG_2564.jpg

A place to grill out delicious futuredogs.

IMG_2565.jpg

The place you will sit and eat futuredogs.

Transportation.

That's it for the house.

Back from the future.

That attraction was invented by teenagers or two year olds, I feel sure.

I had thought this picture was over in The Land, but as I go back through pictures, I realize my mistake.

IMG_2571.jpg

I had it blown up a little, and I have it on one of my classroom bulletin boards, along with a stuffed Jiminy Cricket.

Brooklynn making paper.

IMG_2573.jpg

This was neat, so if you haven't done this with your kids, try to get by there some time. They'd probably enjoy it.

Random pictures.

Lest you forget how to make your meal, there are instructions.

IMG_2600.jpg

And that was it for Innoventions.

But, were we through with Epcot?

IMG_2601.jpg

...we were not!

Oh, Epcot is my favorite park. I love the future house--I would love that hanging bed! Might take a little getting used to, though.

My mom booked our room at Pop, AND our flights, AND a couple of ADR's. We're just getting one room at Pop, since there's only four of us going this time, and even though there is a fee for having three "adults" :rolleyes1 in the room, it's still much cheaper. Our flight to Orlando leaves Logan at 10:20 or 10:40, and it's a direct flight, so we'll get there nice and early! :woohoo: AK has nighttime EMH that night, too, so we might take advantage of that. My mom booked a Chef Mickey's dinner for my little sister's birthday (she's turning 16  ), and a Boma dinner. :cloud9: I would also like to go to Liberty Tree Tavern...I can't recall if that is still character dining. :confused3 Either way, I would love to go, because we haven't been there in ages, and I'm pretty sure that Kailyn (little sis) found stuff to eat before.

Megablocks - So excitted for your Pre TR. Whats the temp like in February? Are the waterparks open then?

Awww thank you! :goodvibes I haven't been in February for a while, but judging by the pictures I have looked at from then, it is pretty nice! Nice enough that we could comfortably wear jeans and t-shirts during the day, and a sweatshirt or a light jacket at night. We went in January a few times, and I can remember it being chilly then--in the low 60's or a little cooler during the day. The CM's and some guests were wearing gloves and earmuffs. :rotfl: We got a kick out of that, having left behind snow, ice, and nighttime temps sometimes getting down to the single digits. The water parks, I'm not sure about, because we don't go to those, but I think they are. :)

Even though you missed a lot of it, what did Luke think of Disney on Ice?

oh, he loved it! we didn't let on that he missed some of it because we didn't want him to be disapointed. he got one of those hats that brooklynn got with the cotton candy except his was lightning mcqueen. as soon as anna sends me her pics, i will post an update in my pre-TR about it.
Wonder what colors it has been over the past few weeks?

i'd be surprised if it hasn't exploded! :rotfl2:

I can see Dawn and her crew enjoying some time with that.

my brother, specifically. or ray. ray's pretty good on the drums, too. i hate the drums....they're too difficult! i usually either play the guitar or sing badly.

that future house kinda looks like the houses we live in today! maybe it's due for an update. i've never seen it before. thanks for sharing!

I like the future house! Is wish my garage was that clean!:rotfl:
The swing bed is interesting! Hannah would love it!

Hee Hee Hee....one who is smart hides the camera until her bedhead has been styled...especially when one has gone to bed with wet hair! ;) My hair looked like Mufasa's mane! Ava and Garrett are both very nice names by the way IMHO!

I love the food instructions at Epcot! I could use those in my kitchen...maybe then I could make something besides toast and reservations! :)

Great updates MeMom. I love the House of the Future. I think my girls would love to have that round hanging bed. It won't be long and you'll be back. My DH is talking about wanting to go back next summer and so do the girls. Who knows? Have a great weekend.

Cathy

Thanks for the PM MeMom, It feels so nice to be included.

The baby names are great choices, I hope Jill can find out whether she will have a girl or boy.

I was told at my first ultrasound my son was a girl. Luckily, I had another one and they said he was definitely NOT a girl. I do tease DS that he got dresses and jewlery before he was born. Funny story, when DS was born my brother was away on vacation (I was overdue) so he sent a huge balloon basket. It arrived "Congrats on having a Girl". I was still kindove out of it so I asked "I did have a boy right?" :rotfl: The shop did make a mistake and in no time an It's a Boy basket came. My brother was not impressed but I can laugh at it now. DD didn't co operate during the ultrasound so she was a total surprise. There were two eager Grammas in the waiting room praying for a girl, they got thier wish. It drove me nuts (crazy planner I am) to not be able to finish the nursery until after. I sent my DMom out to get girly outfits that day. I feel so blessed to have a son and daughter. :cloud9:

Congratulations on getting everything booked! I can't think of a better place to be in February!

Or March.
Or April.
Or any other month..... ;)

I'm pretty sure LTT is closing out the characters in January. They say that people wanted less character dining, but then I think a lot of people really only go to LTT for the characters. It would be nice if they could do half and half. Maybe they could do character lunches and non-character dinners or do characters on certain days. That way, everyone could get the kind of meal they wanted. I'd be interested to see the statistics to know if ADR's drop significantly for that restaurant when it becomes character-free. I am happy that we are getting to see the characters on this trip. We're eating there on Wednesday night before Thanksgiving.

That's good that he never knew what he missed, then. I think you were headed out to eat when I talked to you. Did you have a nice meal?

I guess that house is more innovative than futuristic. Some of you guys who live in more modern houses may have some of that stuff already. My house is neither futuristic nor innovative. It is thirty years old and is held together with duct tape in a few spots. :rotfl: I keep saying that when my boys are gone and we stop taking Disney trips, I can use that food/trip money to fix my house up.

But then I know that I'm in no hurry for my food-grubbing boys to leave, and I don't know if I'll ever stop wanting to go to Disney, so I don't know when the house will be looking very futuristic or innovative.

I better just go buy another roll of duct tape! :)

I like the future house! Is wish my garage was that clean!:rotfl:
The swing bed is interesting! Hannah would love it!

I wish Drew's tool were that organized, too. I would love to buy him a big old shed to have all to himself. He'd probably put a TV out there and live in it!

With both of us working with kids, Jill had to work at it a little bit to come up with names that weren't the same as any 'demon' children we might have talked about in the past. She said things like, "I could never name a kid Cody, because I've had three horrible Codys in my classes." So far, she has had only very good Garretts, and she loves the name Ava, so I think those are the finalists.

Great updates MeMom. I love the House of the Future. I think my girls would love to have that round hanging bed. It won't be long and you'll be back. My DH is talking about wanting to go back next summer and so do the girls. Who knows? Have a great weekend.

Cathy

Oh, yes, I hope you do get to go back. It is such a fun place to be, even in the hot summer. Let us know if you go back at the end of July/first of August, because that's when we'll be there.

I bet all of our girls, the big ones and the little ones, would love to have that hanging bed!

:cloud9:

When I had Jill, ultrasounds were pretty much only done in case of problems. I didn't know what my kids were until they were born. They had said Jill was a boy all along, and when they plopped her out, they said, "There he is!" There were a few seconds of cleaning going on, and then the anesthesiologist, who was standing right behind me, spoke up and said, "I think it's a girl, y'all." We're in Tennessee. The natives say y'all here. So, I thought I had a boy at first, but within seconds, he turned out to be a she.

I agree about having both. I am very glad I have had the blessing of experiencing both a daughter and sons.

I got the turkey gobbler from a beloved Diser, and I passed it on to some of you. I just grabbed a few names off the pages, and I do not want to leave anyone out, so if you want to be 'gobbled', just PM me. I normally don't forward those, but I did this time. Now I'm feeling all seventh-gradish and feeling like I left someone out. Anyway, if you want a happy little gobblin' guy and I didn't send him your way, just let me know, and I will.

After Innoventions, we went here.

This place holds two of my favorite attractions.

We got in the very short and quickly moving line for 'the vegetable ride', as someone recently called it on one of the reports I was reading.

This saying was contributed by a girl from Nashville. I don't know how old it is, but I guess she's grown now. It would be pretty cool to have your words on that wall.

Since you've seen about fifty thousand pictures from this ride from me before, you are free to scroll through quickly, if you would like.

Exactly what kind of miracles come with eating this? Anyone know?

IMG_2625.jpg

Maybe we'll be eating some of these at LTT or Chef Mickey's on this upcoming trip.

I truly need a banana tree in my backyard. Trent eats two a day.

Although this brings out my claustrophobia, (I can't stand it that the pumpkin is enclosed, and I take deep breaths on its behalf) it's just a given that you have to take an Earning My Ears picture. This one has a little while to go before it gets there.

I just want to take a hammer and crack the case open to free the little guy.

For high class salad eaters.
