A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

it was great seeing the different resorts. I was not sure of Shades of Green and had no idea how to ge tthere. :confused3

great update and pics.

That is CBR coming up. I went there and said I should have kept it as the resort it is beautiful. Oh well.

You gave me an idea of new photos. Light fixtures!! I'll have to pop on over to that thread and see what's happening. Hidden Mickey's and lights! Who could ask for more???

Light lover's thread, funny! I have to go check that out.

I think that "wonderful" is pretty safe. I don't think you can be too safe when working with third graders, or children in general. Don't want to plant any ideas in their minds!

I'm glad that Drew can move his arm now, and I am praying for the hearing in that one ear to come back too :goodvibes The hospital bill :scared: So sorry about that! Well, I'm sorry that any of it happened at all, but to have to deal with that on top of it all, stinks!

Also, I am impressed with you being able to keep this TR going until your Thanksgiving trip. ;) I am so glad that you are, because I really enjoy your reports!

I have to agree with Brooklyn, making music IS much more fun with you tongue hanging out! How adorable! :goodvibes I love the one of her outside too. I noticed that one on the Light Lovers thread and almost mentioned how cute she was...then remembered I was on the LIGHT Lovers thread and restrained my comment. So I'll say it here, and say it again...

BROOKLYN IS SO CUTE!

And being on topic with the Light Lovers thread, I have tried to post on there twice now and the first time my computer was being mean, and the second time was last night when the boards went down! So, eventually I will share my current pics on there. I plan to take many, many more in TEN DAYS with our new digital camera.

Looking forward to your adventure at Pepper Market! (That was Pepper Market, right? I've never been there, only seen pics...but really want to go...)

Ohh wonderful update of more shopping pictures. I had a dream last night that I went to WDW, in which I was very brave and drove in a few hours from my northern NY to Orlando, FL just so I could get to Disney World. I recall spending a lot of money and not being able to do anything, because when I got there the park was closed Not a very happy dream.
But your pictures are uplifting enough!
Brooklynn is absolutely adorable.

Glad you're with us! Don't I wish you could drive from NY to WDW in a few hours, because that would mean from TN it would probably be just an hour or so! That would, however, be DANGEROUS to my bank account, as anemic as it already is anyway.

Getting there and finding the park closed? Bad, bad, dream!!! Go back to sleep and do it over, with a better ending. This time, you find out the parks are open 24/7 and everything is half price!

If you come by Le Cellier a little after 6, you should be able to see the first surprise of our trip for our kids. They don't know that my inlaws are coming on our trip (they didn't want to tell the kids in case they had to cancel) and since we arrive at WDW 2 1/2 hours prior to inlaws we are planning to head over to Epcot and have them meet us at Le Cellier to surprise the kids. The plan is something like, "Let's call Granny & Poppy and let them know that we made it safely before we go to dinner." And as they are talking to them, mention something about Disney is the place dreams come true and then have them show themselves to the kids. So if you hear alot of screaming from that part of Canada pavillion, you will know it worked.

i will PM you my cell number too since I would love to say hi even if for just a few minutes.

Maybe I could stand over to the side and take pictures of the expressions on all of your faces when that big reveal comes. Capturing the kids' faces would be a treasure for you, and then your own joy at watching them would be another nice thing to have. We'll exchange numbers and see what happens. That's such a sweet idea for you to surprise them!

I agree we are very lucky that our gas has dropped to $1.99 or anywhere in that range. I hope it drops another .30 or so. Hopefully those prices will get to all of you very soon and stay there!

Thanks for another set of great pics. Brooklynne just gets more and more adorable every day!

Brookylnn also gets more and more sassy little girlish every day! She thinks she looks pretty spiffy in her painted fingernails, fake jewelry, and dress-up clothes. Gosh, just thinking about her brings tears to my eyes, because I love her so much!

Great safari photos, MeMom. The lion pics are fantastic!

I also loved your shopping pictures, of course. The gift shops in AK are my favorite. I love how they have all of the regular stuff, plus lots of unique things, too.

They do have the coolest things. If I had a house with fifteen rooms, I'd do one for about every resort/theme at WDW. I'd definitely love to have an AK/AKL room with all that unique stuff. I think all the plush characters in their safari clothes are too cute.

It's best not to put Wild up there too much! It seems it puts "ideas" into their heads! I had a very Wild Wednesday today! If one student had not been there it would have been a Wonderful Wednesday!

Great shopping pics! Brooklynn looks like she is a natural drummer!

Welcome back to school! One student can make a HUGE difference! I don't go with Wild very often, believe me! I'd love to put Whispering Wednesday up sometime, but I never have. I'd be sorely disappointed within the first few minutes of the day, I'm afraid.

That is CBR coming up. I went there and said I should have kept it as the resort it is beautiful. Oh well.

I love resort hopping, as you well know. CBR is pretty. It seems like a lot of people don't like the service there, but I don't know about that part.

You gave me an idea of new photos. Light fixtures!! I'll have to pop on over to that thread and see what's happening. Hidden Mickey's and lights! Who could ask for more???

It's an interesting thread. Lots of cool pictures! Come on over and add your own.

I seem to like to stretch one trip right into another. It just takes time to put up as many pictures as I do, so where one person might have ten pictures from a whole day, I have ten pictures of one fifteen minute event. :sad2:

I just like being there again in detail, rather than skirting through it. I do have to speed up on this, though, because we will be back in four weeks. I know Jill wants to share her October pictures, too, if she ever gets to be at a computer for any length of time.

Be sure to check out all the awesome Disney lighting over there on the LL thread.

Hooray for your now single digit countdown!!! Give that camera a good workout, and bring back lots of good pictures!

That picture was of Caribbean Beach. That's the food court. Doesn't it look so neat? Pictures next.

So, here we are at Caribbean Beach. Our mission here was pretty much just to eat, browse, and take some pictures.

I didn't buy one, but I think they're cute.

Get the resort mugs while they still make them. They seem to be making less and less resort specific stuff these days.

Have a thrilling Thursday, all!

Nice CBR pictures! Was the pool done when you were there? CBR looks like a fun place to stay!

CBR looks so nice. We stayed there the first time that we went to Disney as a family, in 1994. I want to dig out the pictures and see how different it looks now. I don't remember much of it, but I do remember finding a lizard in the bathtub on my tenth birthday. :rotfl:

Oh! WE'RE GOING BACK TO DISNEY! :woohoo:  At first, just the girls were going to go, but my dad wants to go back, too--my brother is not interested :( but he's a 21 year old male, so I can understand. My mom booked our room at Pop for February 11-18, so we'll be there for my sister's 16th birthday...on the 16th. I am so doing a pre-trip report, and we (mostly the girls) are hoping for a Pirate and Princess Party during the time that we're there. I'm SO EXCITED! :dance3:

Wow! :worship:

Hi Jill and MeMom and everyone else! I just started reading Trip reports and I have now finished both reports from your family! Just wanted to say that you have a beautiful family and I am very happy to hear all of your good news! (even that following the not-so-good news)
Your pictures and stories are very fun and lovely! I hope to see you guys around the parks around Thanksgiving! In anycase, I'm glad to hear that the family is doing well and thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Happy Halloween MeMom!!! I missed everyone on the DIS this past week. Everything is fine, just busy. Working 6 days a week now, leading up to Xmas. Yeah for retail :santa:

Your trunk & treat pics are great. What a fun idea. I wish I could come to your trunk for a cookie or two. Brooklynn looked so cute as Tinkerbell. I wish I could be her myself. Lexi will be Minnie Mouse, My DMom is finishing it today, I havnt seen it yet since Im still at work.

We are having Mummy dogs and green wormy punch tomorrow. Cupcakes and Brownies too. I dont get many trick or treaters since I live out of town but I do make up bags for the few I do get.

Have a great day....hope you dont get :scared1: ....by all the ghosts and goblins out and about.

PSST, I did notice the Halloween bag hanging on the back of your Van, I want one.;)

Oh I need to add that we got a dumpping of snow the other day, so much for a late winter, be glad you didnt have to drive to work in that, not much fun at all.

Nice CBR pictures! Was the pool done when you were there? CBR looks like a fun place to stay!

The pool was under construction when we were there. I've seen pictures of the completed work, and it looks like and awesome place to play now. I'm sure that the new pool and the pirate-themed rooms are helping draw more people to CBR now.

CBR was our first Disney resort and those pictures brought back happy memories! Have a Fanciful Friday!

I think it is a pretty resort. I haven't been able to explore it as much as I would like to, because I've only been there when it was a little rainy and when it was nearly dark. Eventually, I will get over there on a sunny day, and I'll get to explore more.

I will have a Fabulous Friday, too, since we are all so, so grateful the kids are not coming to us the morning after trick-or-treating!!! :)

It's cute what stands out to kids about their childhood. A lizard in the tub (on your birthday, no less!) is a cute memory.

Good for the February trip! That'll be in the dead of winter for us, so your report and/or pictures will brighten the cold, gray days. I hope there's a P&P Party for you, too!

We'll be at Epcot on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. A few from here are hoping to meet up for a quick hello and a picture. We'd love to have you join us! We're not going to take any time from anyone's families or plans or precious park time, but it would just be fun to put names and faces together and have a minute to meet in person. It makes talking on the boards more fun after you meet people in person. So, if you'll be in Epcot that day, we'll let you know more concrete plans closer to the time. I'm going to try to be at LeCellier at around 6 to meet janloz for a minute. I don't know if Swans and snowbell will want to just meet there, or if they want to meet earlier, but we'll work all that out when people have their plans a little more set. We'll be in Epcot all day, so we're flexible.

Have fun with all of your goodies. I'm sure your little Minnie Mouse will be so cute! We looked at the whole outfit when we were in WDW. It is so cute.

Jill brought the bag to me as one of my souvenirs. I've been taking it to school this week with some of my papers in it, and today I'll fill it with candy.

We don't get much snow here, so when we do, people go crazy. They close schools over just a dusting, most of th time, because we have so many hills and curves, and people are not used to driving in it. The one thing you can count on here at the mention of the word snow - the grocery stores will be overflowing! If they predict an inch, us country folks go buy enough food for a week and make plans to settle in to our caves for the duration. It's quite ridiculous and probably would be hysterical to a northener.

***************************************

Here are just a few pictures from Pop as we got back from CBR that night.

Brooklynn did some hula-hooping.

After a few minutes of 'hooping', we went back to the room and went to bed.

Next up: heading off to Epcot!

Have a safe and happy Halloween, everyone! If you would like to share, we'd love to see pictures of all of your own little ghosts and goblins and Tinkerbells and Minnies and Power Rangers and whatever any is being these days. Have a great Friday and a fun weekend!

The pictures of CBR look so great. I also would love to try out the zero entry pool. Thanks for the inside pictures... and have a Happy Halloween

:hmghost: HAPPY HALLOWEEN :hmghost: to memom, jill, brooklynn, john, trent, drew, kristy.....and anyone else i missed!!!!!

i love this picture - either erica or myself (can't remember which) took it at MNSSHP as we were leaving. thought i'd share it to put everyone in the halloween spirit. i love how they put in the fog for the party...so spooky!

I live in Massachusetts, and we get that too, trust me! I work as a front-end supervisor in a grocery store, so I've gotten to witness it firsthand for years. My mom thinks it's because a lot of people remember the infamous blizzard of '78--they predicted light snow, or just a few inches, I think, and it ended up being a full-out blizzard. Schools were closed for a week and no one was allowed out to drive, except for police, firemen, and ambulance drivers. Granted, this WAS thirty years ago, and technology has come a long way, but people still freak out at the mention of snow. If they start mentioning a nor'easter, forget it! :rotfl:

It's cute what stands out to kids about their childhood. A lizard in the tub (on your birthday, no less!) is a cute memory.

Yep, that stands out quite distinctly for me. :goodvibes

I'm really glad that we finally settled on February, just for that reason. It was either February, April, or June, and we quickly eliminated June, just due to the heat. April would've been good, but Easter falls around the same week that we would have gone, so February it was!

We're staying at Pop again, too :cloud9: so reading your report is getting me soooo much more excited for our trip! One thing that I would like to do during our time there (since we're there for a week!), is do a little resort-hopping. I'm making a "to-do" list, I think.

Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Thanks for the invite MeMom, but we're not coming in until the Sunday (Nov. 30), as it's not a holiday for us up here in Canada! But I hope you all have fun! Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!!!

MeMom - Your pictures of CBR brought back so many memories. That is where Joe and I stayed the first time we went to disney as a couple. that was back in May of 2004. I cannot believe I been to Disney 11 times since then. i cried like a little baby when we left in 04 b/c I did not know when we would get to go again....lol
Jill -- Brooklynn looks so cute in her costume. I hope she got may treats.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Dress Up Day! Brooklynn is just adorable! :lovestruc Love the pics and seeing "everyone and everything" Disney!!!! Here are some pics as you asked....can you guess who these girls are?????

So MeMom, I have to ask...

Did you have "fall parties" at school today? My 2nd grader did. I get such I kick out of that. I understand why the schools have changed it but I remember having halloween parties at school when I was a kid that included all the kids marching around the schoolyard in our costumes, so fun!

we did trick-or-treating tonight. This year the town decided to only have it for 1 1/2 hours, it really seemed like a short time. maybe because it was 60 degrees out when we started at 5:30, usually it's in the 40's. This was much nicer!

Happy Halloween everyone!
