A Surprise fit for a Princess...A Pre-Trip Report

Hope it feels better!

Hi everyone! I hope to post an update sometime this week. I'll have one up by Monday at the latest (don't hold me to it!). I've been quite busy lately and I'm also trying to take care of my latest injury. Yes, I have an injury. As you know, I'm on a dance team. While dancing at my game on 3/21, I hurt my right knee. I woke up the next day and it was throbbing! So, I got it looked at and it was a combo of things. The back of my knee hurt because I tweaked my hamstring. The side of it hurt because it was inflamed. I basically have no cartiledge left in my knee due to dancing my whole life. So, I'm trying to rest it, ice it and I'm taking some anti-inflammitories (aka Motrin). So....I've been hobbling around a bit and trying not to dance so hard. It's torture! I LOVE to dance and it's very hard to take it easy. Anyways....I'll be updating soon!

Hope you feel better soon!!!!

Hope it feels better!

So sorry about your injuries! Hope you come back soon :)

Thanks for your well wishes! My knee pain comes and goes. I have to pick up my new knee brace tomorrow. I hope that helps! I'm also hoping that this awful headache goes away too. I've had it since Wed afternoon! It went away for a bit Wed evening and then came back even stronger today while I was at work. Yuck! It's not a sinus headache....I think it's a tension headache. I'm so uncomfortable! I hope to be back to my normal self soon.

I'm joining in late in the game. Sounds like a really fun trip so far. We took our 4 YO DD on dinosaur this March. She said it was scary and doesn't want to do it again ,but she never screamed and I really had a hard time gaging how she felt the whole ride. LOL! She loved Splash, Bight Thunder Mountain Railroad, Test track, and TOT.

My sister was there the same time as your early part of the trip. I think she left that Sunday. They had surprised their DD on her b-day. They just woke her up, like you did, and had a few "disney gifts", and off to the airport the ywent. She said her DD kept asking, "did you pack me clothes?, did you bring bandaids, do they know we are coming?". LOL! She is 5.

Thanks so much for reading! I'm so happy that we surprised our DD with this trip. It was so worth it! I know I won't be able to pull it off again. It was very difficult keeping it a secret for so long. On our next trip (whenever that may be), I'm sure Maddie will want to go on the bigger, more daring rides. She still says she'll never so on Splash again, but I told her she'll like it when she's bigger.

Sorry to hear you've not been feeling well, Meghan. Here's some PixieDust to help you feel better very soon!! :wizard:

Yea! I hope that means you are feeling better!

I'm way bigger than Maddie, and I still don't like Splash -- but I love Space, so it's clearly a personal preference! :)

Magic Kingdom Day 2

January 28th

The day was FINALLY here! The day I had been waiting for! I jumped out of bed that morning and got ready to go in a flash. I just couldn't wait to get to MK that day. You see, we had a very important breakfast date with some characters from the Hundred Acre Woods! We arrived at MK around 7:30/7:45am. There was a decent sized line that morning, but nothing crazy. It was just us crazy early ADR people! The CM's were passing out stickers to the kids and getting everyone very excited for their walk down the empty Main Street.

What a beautiful sight! I didn't notice it at the time, but look at the mom with her daughter in the pic. Isn't it just precious?! It really captures that Disney magic.

Ah...we've reached our destination

While we waited to check in for our ADR, I just HAD to take some pictures! It was the most beautiful morning of the whole week! Sunny, warm....picture perfect.

I heart Cinderella's castle!

Castle!!!

While waiting for our name to be called, we got to meet Kim (NorthernDisneyGirl) and her family. They were super duper sweet and her girls were just precious! I really enjoyed meeting some fellow Dissers/Snowbirds on this trip! We said goodbye once our name got called and we were seated at a table by the window. We had a lovely view of the other families waiting to check in for their ADR's. :rotfl: However, we were at the 3rd table that the characters would come to. Hooray! We didn't have to wait long at all for our first friend to come and visit.

Piglet and Maddie....so cute!

100_0534.jpg

Tigger was next. He gave my DH a fist pound!

100_0535.jpg

Next was Winnie the Pooh himself. He was so cuddly!

Madison didn't want to participate in the parade, so we just ate and enjoyed our food. We had to wait a little bit for our last friend to visit.

Eeyore with Maddie

This was by far our favorite TS meal all week. It will definately become a tradition for us. The food was fantastic, the characters were cute and cuddly and it didn't put a huge dent in our wallets like the other TS meals!

It was such a beautiful day!

After CP, we were off the the Harmony Barber Shop for Madison's very first haircut!!!!

Cont in next post....

Great update and what a beautiful day it was!! Loved the character pics with Maddie, too cute, but especially loved the one with her a Eeyore!! She looked like she was having a great time and what a nice tradition for your family!! Love your castle pics, too!!! Looking forward to seeing/hearing about Maddie's 1st haircut!!!!!:goodvibes

ps-- hope you're feeling better!!?:confused3

cont....

We got to the barber shop around 9:05 or 9:10. MK had just opened, but the line was already super long. While Madison and I waited in line, Tony went to get some FP's for Buzz (we love that ride!). I think we waited about 30-40 minutes, but it was so worth it! She just got a little trim (like an inch or so) because I couldn't bear to get anymore cut off. She was very excited!

100_0545.jpg

Sitting pretty!

100_0548.jpg

All done! As you can see, she got pink and red hair gel and LOADS of pixie dust! She got compliments all day long and people were constantly asking us where we got it done.

After we were done with the barber shop, we headed to Tomorrowland. We used our FP's for Buzz and then went back to the Laugh Floor. Our joke was not picked this time, but it was still funny. We then went over to Space Mtn. There was only a five minute wait, so Tony decided to ride first. I waited with Madison and we passed the time by filling our her "Guide to the Magic". After a few minutes, I noticed that they were turning people away from Space Mtn. I thought that the ride must have been having problems. Tony then comes walking out with a strange look on his face. He rode Space with the lights on!!!! He said it was pretty lame. I jumped at the chance to see this, so it was off to the TTA!!!! Sure enough, the lights were still on and I snapped a few pics.

100_0552.jpg

100_0553.jpg

So cool!!!

We then decided to ride Buzz again. There was only a 10 min wait and I don't think we even waited that long. Afterwards, we hit up Carousel of Progress. My DH had never seen it! We did get stuck once and we watch the 4th of July scene twice. I remember when I was little, the theater would be packed! I think there were maybe 10 people in there with us! Anyways...Space was still shut down, so we grabbed FP's for late. We then made our way to Toontown via the "secret" path. It was a very nice walk. It was so quiet and serene. Madison had not seen her favorite princess yet, so we decided to hop into the Princess line. The Fairy line was insane, but the princess line was only 20 minutes. While we were waiting, Madison said she didn't want to wait. So, Tony went and asked a CM which princesses were there. He came back to us and told us it was Sleeping Beauty (saw her), Belle (saw her twice) and CINDERELLA! (Maddie's favorite). She then decided she could wait for her.

So precious!
Cindy asked Madison if she was here with her brother and sister!!! Usually I would take offense, but you just can't get mad at Cinderella

Belle

We then headed out of Toontown and Maddie and Tony wanted to ride the teacups again.

100_0560.jpg

We walked through Fantasyland and grabbed FP's for Peter Pan (why is the line always so long?!). Madison said she wanted to go to the Haunted Mansion next, so that's where we went. This time, we got stuck in the hallway with the banging doors. Will we ever make it through without stopping? By this time, we were hungry for lunch. We ate at the Columbia Harbor House. We got the 6 and 8 piece chicken nuggets and shared them. Very cost effective!:thumbsup2 Next, we went to Adventureland via Fantasyland. We cut over by Sleepy Hollow. We rode the Jungle Cruise (only a 10 min wait) and had a very funny CM as our guide. Madison wanted to ride the Magic Carpets again, so we hopped in the very short line. We didn't not get "spit" on this time because the camel was not "spitting". It didn't bother me! We also got into the Tiki Room right as the show was about to start. Afterwards, we rode Pirates with absolutely no wait. We then had to race over to Fantasyland. The afternoon parade was going to start soon and we didn't want to get stuck. We did manage to see this guy first.

100_0563.jpg

Madison really liked Rafiki!

On our way back, we stopped for a few more pics.
image145.jpg

image146.jpg

We had yet to see Ariel so we got in line. The line was pretty long, but we later found out it was because Ariel had been taking a little break.

image150.jpg

Ariel must get a work-out! She would lay down for every single guest!

After our visit to Ariel's grotto, we rode Snow White again (we walked on). We then used our FP's for Peter Pan and then went over to the carrousel. I spotted Cindy's horse and once they let us on, we bolted for it!

100_0566.jpg

Madison and Tony on their horses

100_0567.jpg

Madison rode Cinderella's horse!

We had done everything in Fantasyland, so we decided to head over to Frontierland. There was a 5 min wait for Big Thunder, so I rode it by myself first. I decided that Madison would be able to handle it (no big drops, just fast), so we all got in line together. She was a little nervous, but I told her she's love it. After our Splash disaster, I told her I wouldn't take her on anything she couldn't handle. She LOVED it!!! No tears! We weren't about to go on Splash again, so we took the train over to Toontown. I don't think I've even taken a ride on the train before. It was very nice and relaxing. Once we got to Toontown, Madison wanted to see Mickey's house. However, she didn't want to go see Mickey. It was ok with us, so we walked over to Tomorrowland.

Tony and I took turns using our FP's for Space Mtn. This time, the lights were off. :thumbsup2 It was great being able to ride it one last time before they changed it. While I was riding Space, Madison and Tony went over to the Laugh Floor again. Tony texted in a joke for Madison, and they used it! While I waited for them, I had some time to write in my trip journal and get all caught up. Once their show was over, we rode the TTA and Buzz again. Madison wanted to go over to the Speedway, so that's where we went. It was about a 20 minute wait, but it wasn't too bad. After our trip around the track, we browsed around at Mickey's Star Traders. It was time for a snack and we knew just where to go.

On our way to Adventureland, we got to see about 5 minutes of the castle show. It looked very cute, but we had a very important snack to go get. Ah...the sight of Aloha Isle brings a smile to my face every time. I had a Dole Whip, Tony had a float and Madison had vanilla ice cream. I savored each and every bite. I don't think I've ever eaten a dole whip so slow in all my life! I just didn't want this day to end! After our most delicious snack, we went over to the Emporium. We bought some awesome Disney puzzles, a Buzz nerf gun for Maddie and a Mickey t for me! We made our way out to Main Street to get ready for Wishes.

Some nighttime pictures:

That's when it hit me. The smell of cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven. I ran over to the Main Street Bakery and there was no line! I bought two huge cinnamon rolls (to go please!) and raced back to my spot on Main Street just as Wishes was about to start. I got a bit teary eyed. I knew it was our last day at MK for awhile, and I was very sad. We had such a wonderful day and I didn't want it to end. The day had been so relaxed. We didn't rush around at all, the lines were non-existent and the weather was just perfect. We didn't even need to change into our jeans and hoodies that night! What a fantastic day!

What a great picture at the end of a great day!!!

It makes me laugh cause your DH is always in Sabres or Bills gear. My Dh isn't such a fan of the mickey t's either :) At least your DH is supporting our teams!!!

Love the update. Can't wait for more

Thanks!

I'm feeling much much better. Thank you. I do love that pic of Maddie and Eeyore. My DH actually helped Eeyore by holding open Madison's autograph book (he was having some troubles). Eeyore then patted him on the head!

Tony definately supported our teams that week! Everyone always knew where we were from! He has yet to buy a Bandits t-shirt. You'd think with me being on the dance team he'd have one by now! However, he's not allowed to wear orange to their games. Everytime he does, they lose! I do love that last pic I put up. One of the favs from the week.

Great updates! :thumbsup2 We love Crystal Palace too! We always have the best service and excellent food there! :goodvibes

CP is a must do now for every trip. Super delicious and who doesn't love Winnie and Friends?

So sorry to hear of your knee injury Meghan! I too have suffered with no cartilege in my knees - but from years of figure skating. This is why I don't run anymore except when being chased or chasing kids!!

LOVE the latest update! The ending picture is just perfect. I hope you framed it!
I can't wait to hear more from your trip! It helps me to relive ours! Thank you!

That really was a fantastic day. When we were at MK in early Jan SM was running with the lights on, and I decided not to do it. We went through TTA, and it just looked...sad. I can't wait for the rehab, we're coming back in Nov., and my lil' coaster junkie cannot wait to ride it!

What a great day! It is getting me so excited for our trip next month!

I hope that you have so much fun on your trip! I can't wait to go back (whenever that is).

My knee is much better. I got a new knee brace earlier this week that is working out quite nicely. I bought a few frames while we were down there, but I have yet to print any pics! All I've done is upload them to photbucket and facebook. I bought a scrapbook, but that is totally on the back burner. I'll need something to do once I'm done with my TR!
