2010 Fall Promo - Latest Rumor 4/14/2010

Ok - I heard this from several different and unconnected sources yesterday all somewhere after 4pm..

I STRESS - THIS IS STILL A RUMOR - DO NOT BANK ON THIS OR CHANGE PLANS TO ACCOMMODATE THIS RUMOR. DO NOT PLACE ANY SPECIAL STOCK IN THIS RUMOR BECAUSE OF ANY REASON.

IT IS WHAT IT IS - JUST A RUMOR AT THIS POINT.

Ok, with the legalese out of the way.. here's what I got.

I'm being told that F/D WILL be offered.

Specifically, it will be available for public booking on Monday, May 3 for dates from August 15th to very early October. The end dates I've seen didn't agree. Most common end date was 10/2.

All sources agree, there will be less inventory than we're probably used to so more likelihood of folks having to change resorts and/or possibly dates to get it. Just as suspected QSDP for the values, Reg DP for the mod and deluxe resorts.

And finally.. the 'booking window' (or the spread between May 3 and the book-by date will be larger than we've seen before.

I didn't see any information on when this would be available to Disney Visa holders.. so I can't answer that one.

As with ALL things in life...

This is subject to possible change.

I guess we'll know in couple of weeks if this turns out to right or not. But that's the first multiple confirmations of similar information that I've seen.

Let the jubilee and excitement begin.. (on Monday May 3) ..

Thanks, I do love our AK day outfits!!! YES ANN, I saw that, isn't it exciting. I so hope I can switch to POR if that comes out. BUT...... I have another problem now. If that happens the regular DDP will be offered to the moderate resorts. What to do.... I can't wait to see if that promo comes out, by then, there will be no ADRs to make, everything will be booked, the minute that promo comes out. I know there would be slim pickings now, but if I wait til May 3rd, i'm sure i'd have no luck.

So, problem is I believe Nicole is sticking with the QS, so I don't know if I just wanna stay with that too. I just know Manny would LOVE to try the regular ddp and the kids will LOVE. We've only done QS. But, then they'll be the tips and mugs. I won't go without the mugs after doing them last year. We would have used all our snack credits on drinks. We filled them bad boys up all the time. They were amazing.

Well, I certainly think the DDP is the way to go, but I've never had either plan or the mugs, so I can't tell you anything from experience. I will be buying the mugs for us all and I already have my envelopes made up for my tips. I'm figuring on $10 per TS meal for a tip, so it's just a matter of having an extra $10 an throwing it in the envelope between now and the trip. As for the ADR's you can always make them now and cancel them if you stick with the QSDP. It's a lot to think about, I know.

First off, it's actually cheaper for you to stay at POR than ASMU Suite now, so the money you would save could pay for your tips and mugs. I think you would come out about even.

I don't know if you and Nicole planned on spending the WHOLE time together? This might change those plans a bit, but I don't think it would ruin anything. Eating at the TS restaurants is fun, I think if you have never done it, you might like it AND, my guess is that Anthony is going to grow out of this stage in the next year or so and come with you next time, so you'll be back in the suites. This is a chance you might not have again! (I also think QSDP will be for Values from here on out).

As for ADR's, get on the computer and make them RIGHT NOW! You can cancel if you change your mind, you don't have to know what you are going to do or wait for the promotion to come out!

So that's my 2cents. Of course, there's nothing wrong with going with something you know you love already. We're staying at ASMU with free QSDP b/c we've never done it and want to try something new, each family is different!

Ann is really on to something there.....you should think about a few TS meals you would want to try and make some ADRS now....if you decide to stay with QSDP then you can always go online and cancel...also lots of people cancel ADR's all the time so if what you want isn't available today there is always tomorrow...

and lastly I was so totally bummed Anthony decided not to join you guys but excited that the rest of you may get to try a Mod....I have upgrade fever and I am torn between POR and POFQ never stayed in a Mod before not sure I want to pay to upgrade yet though....but in your case your SAVING!!! I wish

So I talked to Nicole yesterday and we talked about the DDP. She is not going to upgrade, she's going to stay with the QSDP, Which, of course made me want to stick with it so we'd be on the same plan. But after talking we decided that it would be ok for me to go with the DDP and still be on the same "page" because we are a family that enjoys the mid day breaks at the hotel and pool, and Nicole and her kids do not do breaks. So basically during the afternoons we'd be separated anyway. I figured i'd do my TS meals in the afternoons and QS's for dinner with her. We did go through our week and pick our park days, so we have a definite plan and we will be in the same parks on the same days. I'm excited about that.

AND I MADE RESERVATIONS!!!!! I'm actually so excited about the reservations, character meals and fancy restaurants that I know Manny would love that i believe i'm going to upgrade to the ddp from qsdp even if I can't get into POR! It's something we've never done and I would LOVE to have that experience.

So, here are our park days and reservations.

Saturday 9/18: Nothing planned for arrival day as we have no idea what time we will be getting in. If we end up flying jetblue it looks like we'll have a night flight.

Sunday 9/19: Magic Kingdom (EMH 9-12a) ADR. Crystal Palace, 1:55pm.

Monday 9/20: Epcot ADR. Coral Reef, 6:40. (I wanted a dinner res for this one, I figured it would be more romantic)

Tuesday 9/21: We're going to relax by the pool today and have a CS lunch with Nicole. This is MNSSHP night. ADR. The Plaza, 4:45p

Wednesday 9/22: AK (EMH 5-8) ADR. Yak and Yeti, 2:00p

Thursday 9/23: DHS, ADR. Sci Fi,2:05p

Friday 9/24: Day off day for DTD. ADR Chef Mickey's, 11:10am

Saturday 9/25: Epcot ADR, Akershus, 1:40p

Sunday 9/26: MK (EMH 8-11) ADR, Ohana's best friends breakfast, 10:55a

Monday 9/27: Check out day. Nothing planned yet, as we do not know flight times (Heck we don't even know how we're getting there and back yet.)

So, I am beyond excited about these reservations. I've dreamed of eating at some of these restaurants and I cannot wait.

Question. For tuesday, MNSSHP night. Do you think a 4:45 ADR at the Plaza is ok. I figured if we got to the MK before 4pm, Got in right at 4 with our party ticket, got our wristbands and maps we could be at the plaza in time. Is this doable or should I consider changing this. I figured while we ate we could go through the map and map out our route and when we were done eating we'd still have plenty of time before the party started. Does this sound good, or do you think that we may not get seated in time because EVERYONE is trying to eat dinner before the party. I DO NOT want to be late for the party. I want to be in line for Snow White the 7 dwarfs before 7.

I am soooooooo happy that you made your ADR's!!! Isn't it great??? This is so exciting!!! I'm sure you've been reading the Rumor thread, too, and May 3rd is right around the corner. My only concern is that my TA won't be able to be on the phone first thing in the morning to make resort ressies. From what I've read, POR rooms for FD will go quickly, so I'm just hoping.......My TA is on a cruise with DisneyMagic right now, so I can't even reach her! But, she will be back by May 3rd. This is so nerve wracking!!! I thing I will be all calm once my ressies with FD for POR are made.....Lookie there, I'm following you to a new resort AGAIN!!!

I could have sworn that I posted an "I hope you feel better" post but I guess I didn't. My darn computer at work is still acting up so I could have done it and it just didn't go through. Anyway, hope you are feeling better and the pain has gone away.

Second, I love the shirts. They are so cute. I still wish I had thought about making shirts back when my kids were young enough to agree to wearing them.

I think you made an excellent choice in upgrading to the DDP. We absolutely love it. As far as the mugs go, don't forget that you will have a fridge in your room if you get to upgrade to Port Orleans. If you drive, you could always bring along drinks and put them in the fridge. If you decide to fly, you could place an order with Garden Grocer. We used them last year and they saved us a lot of money.

I like the ADRs that you made. We have eaten at several of the places you have on your list. The Crystal Palace is a must do for us as is the Coral Reef. We haven't eaten at the Sci-Fi or the Plaza in a couple of years but are our list for our upcoming trip. Yes, I did hear that POR will be one of the first to fill up. That scares me. I'll be on the phone right away, but still.... Who knows, maybe POR is already full and we're gonna be out of luck no matter what time we get up I'm so STRESSED OUT right now. I'm excited that you'll come to POR too if you can. Oh, I meant to mention that my neck is even better today than yesterday, and especially the day before. Last night at work my friend, Robin, gave me a neck rub, it was great. She's going to do it again tonight. I think that's what I needed, after that it was like 30 times better. I was able to sleep last night, so that's always a good thing!

And, I'm still so excited about my reservations!!! We won't even need to stand in the Princess line this year because we'll be at Akershus. Last year we waited in that line for 60+ minutes!!!!

I've also still been writing down MNSSHP tips from that great thread and I can't wait to go to that. I really want a picture with the Villans after their show and Snow White with the 7 dwarfs. That's gotta be 2 really great pictures!

I'm excited about the DDP upgrade too, I think we'll all have a blast. And it will be nice to go sit in some nice AC in the middle of the day.

We were really looking forward to eating at Chef Mickeys but were disappointed. There was food on the floor, all over the buffet table and our server wasn't so great. We had to flag her down several times throughout the meal. We basically filled up on salads and bread.

The first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party of 2010 will be held in the Magic Kingdom on September 14 and then on select nights up through November 1. Official information about specific dates and tickets has not been released yet, but will be available soon at www.disneyworld.com/halloween.

I'm glad to hear your neck is better! That's good. Yeah, I really should be working, and I do work in between checking the boards!! My job is just so teadious lately and I am in real need of a vacation, so for me to stay focused is hard! Ugh! I just can't wait for May 3rd!
