A story of renewed hope & the power of Dis

Hi Ruthie. Very beautiful post and great pictures about Dillon. I agree that they are so much more than just pets even if they are with us for just a short time too.

I am more of a cat than a dog person and this reminded me of our "Mischief" that we had to put to sleep when he was only 2 years old after having 2 major surgeries.

I may be away from the boards for a little while. I sent you an email about what is going on here.

Hope you and Fred have a wonderful Happy Thanksgiving.

Hope to talk soon.

Ed

Ruthie, I love all the photos of you, Jim and Ariana at the party (especially the one in front of Pluto).

Count me in with the rest with a tear in my eye reading about Dillon.

Thank you for being here, thank you for sending your love and compassion For those who have been through what I went through with Dillon thank you for sharing I'm sorry I made you cry, but I'm glad you care enough that you did
I will always remember all of your fur babies too

:grouphug:

Okay then, lets get back to MNSSHP shall we ?

Talking Mickey...pretty neat or down right creepy ??????? maybe you can tell from my expression

I had heard Mickey now talks at the M & G at the Town Square Theater When Ariana & Jim and I parted from each other at MNSSHP I headed out I noticed there was a 5 minute wait for Mickey I had some trepidation about this " new & improved" Mickey Of course we had seen his mouth and eyes move when he is in the castle stage shows and the parades From a distance this was okay with me but up close I thought it would be kind of creepy Not sure about this.....

You talking to me ???? You talking to me ???? :eek:I have no idea what he said...something about my backpack and my Pluto ears :rotfl2:

I KNOW I absolutely froze in place....I know he came over to me and grabbed me in a hug I know he then took my Pluto bag and put it in the bottom of his wardrobe closet I know I wish someone had taken a picture of that I know my mind went blank, he must have thought I was daft I know I can't recall a thing he said :rotfl:

So cool or Creepy..?..cool when he talks, cool when his eyes move, kind of creepy when his eyelids close  I'll have to go back and do this again now that the shock has worn off and I know what to expect....we'll see !

What fun pictures with Mickey!!!

I vaguely remember reading about that and hadn't heard anything since. I'm not sure how I feel about it. :confused3

Oh man, I do wish we had stayed and met talking Mickey. I don't think I told you but when you headed out and Jim and I got in line I realized that he was just done with the night. He was getting extremely grumpy so I said let's just go and we did. :sad2: I hope I can catch Mickey in February, might even have to FP+ that one on our second day in MK.

I had jumped ahead in the reporting when I wanted to share about Dillon's Angel....at this point I think I am still a little out of order, but no big deal I had also gone to TPC ( Theme Park Connection ) twice in the past month..yes twice..I went this past Saturday for their official Grand re-opening at the new location in Orlando I needed to get out of the house and shake myself of the sadness so it was a good decision I'll share the great items I got as soon as I get pictures taken and uploaded Until then please join me for The Osborne Family Spectacle Of Lights at DHS

continued next post......

I was emotional when seeing the houses that reminded me of Queens, NY I really need to get up there and see Aunt Mary and my youngest DD, DSIL, and DGS, cousins, etc I miss NY especially at Christmas time, going to Rockefeller Center, eating in Little Italy and China Town It won't be the same but I am really hoping so much I can get there in the spring

Glow with the Show ears...LIKE them !

Hiya Kermit...its snowing :goodvibes

So pretty

Peace found....

What fun pictures with Mickey!!!

Still not sure how I feel either ...trying to keep an open mind until I go there again

:rotfl2: Oh boy glad I didn't meet Jim's grumpy side...I get it though my behind was dragging at that point and I was ready to go home It was fun but a long day I'm sure you will catch him in Feb, I don't think you'll have to use a FP+ for him, If plans allow I would either head there first thing in AM when the masses are heading to the castle OR leave it for park closing

Ooooh....can't wait to see those lights in just over a week. :)
Oh that's right ...I AM behind in your PTR :upsidedow are you totally planned out or do you have any free time any morning around 8/8:30 ? I would love to meet you ! Long overdue Interested ? I better get over there & catch up on your plans...and YES Goofy meets at DHS as Santa...L O N G lines though

I'm sad I have to wait a whole year to see those lights again. I think I could stand there for hours and just watch them!

I haven't quite decided what I think of the glow with the show ears. I definitely don't want a pair, I just can't justify spending the money to put them on my head where I won't be able to see what they do. They were pretty to watch during the shows except when they were right in front of me blocking my view. Of course that is true of any hat or ears on a tall person.

Mom and I went to NYC for a few days in December 2005. That was a really fun trip and I loved seeing all of the Christmas decorations.

Wow... I was way behind. I'm not going to quote the pictures. But I have to say i LOVE your new camera! Great photo's. The halloween pictures are great! Jim & Arianna's halloween costumes are great. Reminds me of one my Mom won contests with about 25 yrs ago. Chef & "miss Piggy", who eventually ended up squished on the shelf of a cart with her head under a serving dome, and Chef would lift the dome & my Mom aka MIss Piggy would have an apple in her mouth, not moving until the judge got to her.

Yea! You got to the first part of our DISmeet! Thank you again for having Peter do that for us, it was such a nice surprise. i will cherish that Pluto photo forever! I plan on framing it to put in my Pluto room.

I really did mean to note the anniversary on my reservation but kept forgetting everytime I called. I think I would have died if Pluto delivered the balloon himself! I'm such a teenage fangirl when it comes to my Pluto!

Oh, thanks for cropping my toes out of the photo of the Pluto card. :rotfl: I didn't realize I got them in the picture till after I had sent it too you.

Jim disappeared because we had a little miscommunication. For some reason he thought we were picking him up at the room. :confused3 No idea how he got that idea since we told him your car was out front. Oh well, it just gave us some more time to gab and do some pin trading! ::yes::

Thanks again for taking us over to Fort Wilderness so we didn't have to use multiple transportation modes to get there! That really meant a lot to both of us. I do know that Jim liked you too because he said he was impressed that you were the second person we had met off the DIS that was not a serial killer. :lmao:

NAH, not a serial killer.... just a stalker. ;) :rotfl:my favorite stalker of all time though. Speaking of which Ruthie, Mark mentioned he hasn't heard any updates about you & your shenanigans lately. So, I'll have to update him now that I'm caught up on your TR.

So have you made Vampire Pluto dance for your dogs (for those that don't know, he dances around in a circle and plays a song)? I put him in the middle of my kitchen floor and drove my dogs nuts with him. :rotfl2:

 for the sad anniversary coming up. We lost our first Schnauzer, Haley, 3 1/2 years ago and we both still mourn a little bit for her. I still haven't been able to take her picture off my computer screen even though I used to change that picture often. And Jim still burns a candle for her every year on her birthday.

Now I'll just sit back and wait for part 2 of the meet!

I have to admit I am like most people, I hesitated with the whole meeting in 3D experience We all hear about the horrors of that with the internet but so glad you & I opened that door to friendship 3 yrs ago There is not one person I have met that I would not welcome into my home I am blessed
So Happy to hear this, because... the gift I bought Mark for our recent anniversary... I may need somewhere to live soon. lol No it's not a living thing.

Now about the anniversary of Dillon. I'm happy your other kiddos brought you back to the here & now. Grieving is healthy, but not too much. :hug:I'm sorry I missed the actual date. Dillon lives on in every memory that makes you smile. So, smile on my love!

Also wanted to comment I'm not a big Sally & Jack fan, but DD#1 used to love them. I may have to plan another trip around halloween, everything points to that. But then I see your beautiful pictures from Osborne lights. and that makes me want to go at Christmas again. What's a gal to do? pirate: or :santa:

I have to run. Sorry to everyone else that I am behind on those TR/PTR's as well. I'll catch up one of these days.

I love your pictures! It will seem very strange to see Mickey talk!,but I can't wait to see him do it! Love the pix of the lights! I imagine the "special" ears make it even more special. Have a wonderful time this week with Fred!

Wow - I was so excited to read about Talking Mickey!!! I have wondered whether it would be creepy or cool, so I would have gone in with the same trepidation. I'm glad to hear that it is mostly cool. I haven't even told Willow about this yet in case it doesn't last.

I LOVE the Christmas Pluto stuffies! Too cute!

The Osborne Lights always look incredible in pictures. I really need to bite the bullet one year and take us at Christmas time. It just all looks so magical. :wizard:

What fantastic pictures Ruthie. That picture of you and Mickey is just brilliant. Did you get yourself a Christmas Pluto?

Ruthie, I just wanted to stop in and give a little :wave2: today. Mom flies in tomorrow for Thanksgiving (well I hope with this weird weather we are having) and she is here till December 4th. I won't be getting on the DIS during that time so I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi Ladies so glad to see you all here...responses..and then YEAH updates :cool1:

I'm sad I have to wait a whole year to see those lights again. I think I could stand there for hours and just watch them!

I could have slept on NY Street that night and felt totally happy, even if they let me; I had to get out of there and go to work

I've seen those hats in action I think its really pretty I also think they are too expensive ( $25. ) and I hear they are heavy due to the battery pack I rather have them in front of me than having to either look through someones Ipad screen or worse ( and you know I am not tall ) last minute having someone hoist a kid on their shoulders with no warning right in front of me :crazy2: doesn't happen often though as the more I go the more I am finding out of the way places to watch things

Mom and I went to NYC for a few days in December 2005. That was a really fun trip and I loved seeing all of the Christmas decorations.

That's a trip we could plan ! There is no place in the world better than NY at Christmas and I know the BEST Irish pub right near Broadway food and atmosphere is wonderful & we'd then go see Aunt Mary and have a big Italian feast YUM !!

Good Grief woman where have you been ?????? !!!!!! That story is too funny.....stop disappearing around here !

So Happy to hear this, because... the gift I bought Mark for our recent anniversary... I may need somewhere to live soon. lol No it's not a living thing.

Uh Oh !!!! :scared: I can't even imagine what you did :rotfl2: No fair leaving us hanging though Do tell ! You KNOW you are always welcome here but I doubt its that bad

Thank you sweetheart I know you're right Everyone here has been very supportive I am happy that he also lives on with the Pointer Rescue group I used to belong to I checked their online store and 2 greeting cards featuring him are still there after many years Also happy to see several shirts with my " Pointer Sisters" ( and their sister that lives in CT) still for sale there so that makes me feel pretty good :goodvibes

Well if Mark throws you out and you end up here no worries :joker:

Seriously what you HAVE to do is plan is what I did when I was a tourist plan to be here and attend the last MNSSHP and the first MVMCP Its a pretty neat thing to do and will confuse the heck out of you when you get back to you real life at home :rotfl2:

I have to run. Sorry to everyone else that I am behind on those TR/PTR's as well. I'll catch up one of these days.

Come back come back real soon :thumbsup2

Oh I guess I forgot to mention that Pluto in PJs made it to my house not too long after we got home from Disney along with three new Disney shirts I did not need. :rotfl: I did some shopping during the Friends and Family weekend. :thumbsup2

When was he home last ??.....:confused3..July I think ? What a year this has been anyway BIG plans ! :goodvibes Home tomorrow until Sat

When I get out of work in the morning I am off until Sat night :cool1: Grabbed an off site reservation for a place to crash after heavy eating/some drinking because that is the plan !

1- When he gets home off we go..check in, maybe light dinner at Earl of Sandwich and definitely some DTD shopping..Christmas Pluto top of list :) Also on the hunt for the new Pluto bank that was supposed to come in mid/end of November...doesn't take much to make me happy

2- Thanksgiving Dinner at Mickey's backyard BBQ where they promise Thanksgiving fare for all you can eat buffet...originally I made plans for a resort dinner but them having Thanksgiving food at Mickeys was the tipping deciding factor Fort Wilderness has a place in our heart...first resort we ever stayed in 20 + years ago so this was a win-win :thumbsup2 Hoping to get over to DTD after this to see late night showing of " Frozen " that comes out today

2- Next day 27 th Wedding Anniversary :faint: Spending day at EPCOT and then eating at Via Napoli I have heard all good about this restaurant so here we come ::yes::
