That sounds like a wonderful time for Thanksgiving! Mickey's BBQ is on my list of places to try someday. My cousin and her family are going there in February but Mom and I are sticking with my brother & SIL and we let them pick all the meals this time. Seemed only fair since Mom and I go way more often.

I really don't feel like working today even though I have lots of stuff to get down before going on vacation tomorrow. So instead I'm stalking the DIS boards this morning. I really need to quit this and get some work done!!

Go to work I won't influence you anymore I am going to sign off for now too I have a ton of laundry to do and doggies to feed Fred just called he has a pick up in GA at 6 am tomorrow and clear headed husband that he is was worried that we would miss Mickeys tomorrow I have learned to NEVER make reservations on the day he is supposed to be home by now Now that he is reassured ( and there is no threat of losing $ 20 for a late cancellation/no show ) all is good I figure he'll be home by tomorrow afternoon

Yes you will love Mickeys you really should plan to go sometime He's never been there & I have been a few years ago Really looking forward to it

When was he home last ??.......July I think ? What a year this has been anyway BIG plans ! Home tomorrow until Sat

When I get out of work in the morning I am off until Sat night Grabbed an off site reservation for a place to crash after heavy eating/some drinking because that is the plan !

1- When he gets home off we go..check in, maybe light dinner at Earl of Sandwich and definitely some DTD shopping..Christmas Pluto top of list Also on the hunt for the new Pluto bank that was supposed to come in mid/end of November...doesn't take much to make me happy

2- Thanksgiving Dinner at Mickey's backyard BBQ where they promise Thanksgiving fare for all you can eat buffet...originally I made plans for a resort dinner but them having Thanksgiving food at Mickeys was the tipping deciding factor Fort Wilderness has a place in our heart...first resort we ever stayed in 20 + years ago so this was a win-win Hoping to get over to DTD after this to see late night showing of " Frozen " that comes out today

2- Next day 27 th Wedding Anniversary Spending day at EPCOT and then eating at Via Napoli I have heard all good about this restaurant so here we come

for Fred coming home for Thanksgiving and some plans. I probably won't get here again before we leave (the newlyweds will be here all weekend), so I wish you and Fred a very Happy Thanksgiving, Ruthie.

Roni I think Willow would love talking Mickey ! I don't think he will be going away anytime soon Thought of her with Christmas Pluto If you want me to pick up one for her let me know it would be no trouble at all Meant to tell you & Ariana: Did you see Pluto in pajamas Disney store online Soooo cute & on sale now $14.95 Oh you really must come over Christmas, not just for DHS but for the resorts AMAZING !

Thanks Ruthie - you are so sweet! I actually ordered the Pluto in PJs from Disneystore on-line a while back when they had a Disney Visa sale, so I think Miss Willow is set with Pluto stuffies for THIS Christmas.

I really hope to get there sometime during the Christmas holidays. I am toying with the idea of DLR next year since we will have the APs, but we shall see.

Oh, your plans sound AMAZING! I would totally opt for the T-Day fare at Mickey's Backyard BBQ too. We haven't been there yet, but I think it sounds like such a fun place, and it will feel very Thanksgiving-y.

I have read great things about Via Napoli (except for those of us who can't eat gluten) - I bet it will be a wonderful spot for an anniversary dinner.

1- I could have died or been paralyzed in that accident in Jan I have improved enormously

2- Fred & I both have incomes No longer home owners but not homeless either The marriage was renewed pulled back from the brink

3- I have an awesome family.... for the most part..... a few nuts on the branches like everyone elses family.... but I have been extra blessed that I have awesome friends to make up for it and are now my family

4- I have shared the life of some pretty amazing animals and continue to do so

5- I have managed to rely on my faith, my humor, and my inner 5 year old to get through it all some days one day at a time one hour at a time or one minute at a time

6- I have learned to forgive and to accept Grace

That's a lot to be thankful for...God Bless Us All and let us be smart enough to realize it

Yes had to learn a lot of lessons and had to put them in place over the past 24 hours.......Happy Thanksgiving to you too !


So he made his delivery in Atlanta GA at 6 am yesterday and then of course the company doesn't want an empty truck going all the way to FL so he and his student have to wait to meet up with a truck get their trailer and head to Orlando The other truck was about 100 miles away from them No big deal....right ? Truck breaks down at 10 am they are still waiting for another load to come to FL just sitting and waiting for instructions and I am waiting to know when he will arrive in FL

But you see I am getting smarter I had made NO ADR for home arrival day...the new cancel/no show policy and the $10 I lost in Sept for sleeping through the ADR time was a real kick in the wallet So I learned I actually like the policy to stop the double booking and ADR hoarding that goes on sometimes and I will make my point in a minute

I called the motel we were going to stay at and talked to a really sweet guy, he understood perfectly what the situation was and changed our check-in to today with no penalty BIG thank you to him Now instead of Wed --Sat it is Thurs--Sun...I told Fred I have to work Sat night and I will kick the bed when I leave its only a 6 hour shift so I really don't care about that

So by 2 pm we know he's not going to make it home this day....we say see you real soon and say Goodnight.....Its almost 8 am now and he has dropped the delivery trailer in Orlando and has just passed Mickey's house and will be home soon ...so all is good, some home time, a shower, a cup of coffee and off we go

While waiting yesterday I got to thinking about the anniversary dinner at Via Napoli...I realized we are just not fancy sit down TS people, we are character lovers and the trucker has an all you can eat mentality so I hit the WDW dining website......what did I find ? Chef Mickey's had an open seating for 11 am Fri/Anniversary day REALLY !! ?? I have to chalk it up to the new cancel policy as this has NEVER happened ! Chef Mickeys is a very tough ADR to get....so yes we are celebrating our anniversary with the Fab Five ! Because you KNOW I got on the phone immediately after booking and asked the CM to note the important date

A very special Thanksgiving /Anniversary trip indeed !

I'm sorry things didn't work out quite like you planned, but I'm glad you can be flexible and roll with it. I hope you and Fred are having a great time and enjoy Chef Mickeys!

I'll be making my ADRs for my next trip tomorrow. I'm gonna put you in on at least one and we talked about having you over for dinner in the villa one night. I know you have no idea what your work schedule will look like then, but we can be flexible. I have an idea what we'll have for dinnner on the nights we don't have ADRs and see how that works out fr our schedules wheb the time comes!

So sweet I want to see you both very much Alison ( & Fran ) ....Dinner YUM ! a great invitation that I wouldn't miss As far as ADRs yes pretty much don't know my schedule yet but can be 99.999999 % sure 8 - 8:30 am would be perfect for breakfast ADR works...dinner I will make it happen I'm up to date on the house posts, your Thanksgiving turkey had me drooling I wanted that drumstick Our dinner was good but I miss the leftovers Will have to cook Christmas home time for Fred I think we both agreed

It was delicious especially the Pluto cheese blitzes Hey that's what they called them Not sure I even took a picture of them although I did get better remembering to take food pictures We had several great days...a few moments of snippiness but kiss & made up Hope family is well with you too Dee and that you had a great Thanksgiving

Photos courtesy of the internet...because I forgot before the room was "lived in " Destiny Palms Maingate West on 192 in Kissimmee was 10.6 miles from AKL ( to use this as a reference point) Got a deal through Booking.com they don't charge a fee and nothing has to be paid/no deposit nothing until check in Then you pay it all off at that time 3 nights= $171.00 Close enough to WDW plenty of restaurants etc but set back a little off the main road and you couldn't hear traffic or anything Wonderful quiet !

We loved it and would go there again in a heartbeat only one thing I absolutely missed...no tub..only showers but so worth it

Clean, beautiful, excellent " pixie dust" filled staff Beautiful hardwood, granite tops, comfortable king sized bed, toaster oven & refrig in room The pool looked clean but it was too freakin cold to even consider that

Breakfast was included..continental but fresh fruit muffins pancakes french toast hard boiled eggs pots and pots of coffee fresh juice all excellent !
