A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

I have tried to read this thread from beginning to end and finally skipped to the end around page 34 and worked my way back a bit! :faint: This thread is amazing!

I'm very thankful for those who have requested "Ethan" covers, as that's my little boy's name. He is taking his Wish Trip in November of this year and this will be his (as well as my husband's) first time at WDW. The last time I went was in '93! I know. It's been way too long!

At this time, we are only going to be able to hit 4 parks with 3 day park-hopper passes. We have talked about extending our trip for a day or two, at either the front or back end (depends on how much the flights would cost MAW if we could even do so- we arrive 11/10 and are supposed to depart 11/16).

My question is, how big of an autograph book should I shoot for since we will only have 3 days to hit 4 parks? We are hoping to go to Universal and Islands of Adventure...and maybe Sea World, but it's looking like that probably won't happen. Actually, we may not even do Epcot b/c DS is 3 (will be 4 in December) and it doesn't seem as kid-friendly. I don't know. He may never want to leave GKTW! (That's where we are staying) I wanted to go to MVMCP, but there are two big events at GKTW that conflict both nights the party is going on. What to do, what to do?? Some characters come to GKTW in the mornings, so I'm not sure if we'll do a character meal(s) or not...

Anyway, I'm sorry for rambling. I'm just a bit overwhelmed but tremendously excited! November can't get here fast enough!!

Thank you again. Please excuse this noob!

Would it be possible to have the words "When you wish upon a star..." at the top of the Ethan cover with all 4 parks? No rush, and no biggie if it doesn't work. I'm still trying to figure out what in the world I'm doing over here!

Sincerely,

Amy

::yes::Good Morning Amy, there is plenty of things to do with Ethan in EPCOT, there's: Finding Nemo, Turtle Talk with Crush, and if take a walk "Around the Worlds", there's FunCot Kid Stop, that's where the little ones make masks for themselves. There is plenty do there, as when my DW and I took our DD's, which they were 2 and 1, we had fun, I mean not that much fun as Magic Kingdom, but there will be plenty. God Bless you and your family and I hope this helps you a little, Make A Wish and Have a Magical Day. pixiedust:

So I've planned our first trip to Disney World The week of Halloween this year. My son will be turning 7 the week we are their and my daughter will be 5 1/2. I bought a Disney autograph book from like Amazon or Ebay. It only has like 10-15 pages... and every other one is a photo page. Really didn't think that out, kinda a wast of money. I got on the internet started googling and found this awesome form. So after find some really cool pages, there wasn't any really creative way to bind them. So after some other research I came up with some really cute ways to bind my book. After making the first one and it turning out adorable I filmed making my second one. I thought some other parents might like to use my ideas, or take them and put their own twist to it.

Grr... Because I don't have 10 Post it wont let me attach my picture links... Pardon me while I post real quick...

I am making my DBF's mother an autograph book to put into a Thank You basket for our upcoming trip. I decided to make my own pages inspired by some of the ones on this thread. I did not however put the characters name, I thought that the character's signature was sufficient! Please let me know what you think.

(This is also my first picture post so I hope it works.)

I'm having a hard time finding a Duffy the Disney Bear autograph card. I'm making a book using Natalie's vol.2 DISigns (2010 cards from her photobucket site). When I used the search forum, I found a Duffy card, enlarged it, downloaded it, but when I go to view it, it appears as a blank card with one thin strip of color in the center. :confused3 None of my other cards have downloaded this way, whether it be Natalie's or someone else's. Not sure, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone happens to have a Duffy card. Thanks!

I am pretty sure Dr. Music Mouse has one, plus I believe she does ones like Natalie if asked. I have some also, but they are not like Natalie's. Penny:goodvibes

Okay, so I've been playing around in Word with some Universal cards since there aren't many out there. I have everything set the way I want it to look. Now here's my question. How do I save it correctly so I can sent it to print as a picture with Shutterfly or someplace like that?

I'm slowly making my way through this thread while also collecting the cards I need to make a book for my daughter for our Halloween trip this fall. I'm also making books for the 3 sons of good family friends who will be going the week before us. Their parents are our best friends and the both work full-time and have 4 kids and don't want to time to make photo books and such, so I'm doing it for them. Anyway... not that you needed to know all that. :)

At this point I have 3 questions, but I'm sure I'll have more later.

1. Has anyone used Vistaprint for flip books? I want a flip book style and they have one where you can add pages. Has anyone had them challenge you for copyright issues?

2. How can I tell which cards are already sized 4 x 6, instead of 4.3 by 6.5 etc., ? Do I need to upload them to a photo website and see what gets cropped to be able to tell?

3. If I do need to resize them, the only programs I have are Word and Paint. I think Word won't work as I intend to upload them as photos. When I try to resize them in Paint it asks me what percentage or pixels I want. Can you tell me how I resize to get 4 x 6?

Sorry, that ended up being longer than I intended. Thank you!

I would save it as a PDF. When you "save As" Underneath the name part it will ask File type. Just chose PDF. I'm not sure what if Sutterfly will accept PDF but I know fed-kinkos will. You wont beable to save it as a JPG in word I don't believe. What I do when I want a Jpeg out of Word is take a screen shot paste it into one of my graphics programs ( i use freebee ones) and crop it. save as jepg..

Hope this helps!

So one of my friends is planning a trip in December of this year. She has a set of twin boys and isn't as crafty as I. She asked me to a make her a set of books like mine and is going to pay for it :) I worked out her design Covers and just finished embroidering one.

Didn't it turn out cute! I also wanted to throw out there if anyone liked my books and knows anyone with a embroidery machine or has one themselves I'd me more than happy to send over any designs for covers :)

For these books I used a Universal page. Its saved to my office computer. I'll post it for everyone tomorrow :)

Thanks so much! It doesn't take PDF but your cropping method totally worked!!

I thought about using shutterfly but i wanted the color to the go to the edges and where the binded the book it would cut some of the pictures off of the pages i chose to use. I was also afraid that semi gloss paper they use would not dry fast and smear the autographs accidentally. I didn't look into vista print though.

2 The 5x7 pages should shrink down to 4/6 just fine. The main sizes I've seen are 8x8 and 5x7. If its a square page chances are 8x8, rectangle pages changes are 5x7. :)

3. This is how I printed mine. ( i did 5x7 but this will work for 4x6)
Highlight the pages you wish to print. Choose print link at the top of the window. (See screen shot)

Then chose 4x6 option to the right of the window. You may have to play with the "fit picture to frame" check box to get the best picture. (see screen shot)

Hope this helps!
