A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

Thank you, TeresaMRoberts. I hadn't thought about printing them right from the folder where I have them stored. I may end up doing that, but I do have until October, so I'm going to keep trying to figure this out. I would really like to get them printed as photos because the printing costs are so much less, especially if you pre-pay for the photos. I may have to take them to Kinkos to bind them. I have 4 books to make and I think I'll go through 2 or 3 printer cartridges if I print them myself. Ouch! When I upload them to any of the photo websites and preview the printing the edges are cut off. My only options are "crop" not "resize. My programs are Word and Paint and I can't figure out how to resize in Paint. When I try, it just cuts off most of the picture. It doesn't change the size of the whole image.

I am making my DBF's mother an autograph book to put into a Thank You basket for our upcoming trip. I decided to make my own pages inspired by some of the ones on this thread. I did not however put the characters name, I thought that the character's signature was sufficient! Please let me know what you think.

(This is also my first picture post so I hope it works.)

Great new autograph pages! Would love to use these on my 2013 trip when you've got a whole set. :thumbsup2

Depending on which windows you have Window's Live Photo Gallery will re-size a picture easy. I have windows 7 and it came with it. You probably can download it for free from Microsoft website. We are going the week of Halloween, I've finished two books for my kids already. I'm doing two more for a friends of mine. I also printed them out at work. I looked into having it printed but it was still cheaper to print at home because of how many pages I was going to be printing. Good luck!

Could I get an 8x8 disneyland cover?

Also is there a current list posted somewhere of DL characters who stop for photos/autographs? TIA

Your cards are really beautiful, simple and elegant. Are you uploading them to Photobucket so others can use them or are they just for yourself?

Thank you! I am hoping to get the rest up on photobucket. I am almost done with all the characters. I am trying to figure out what I want to do for generic ones. I dont think I want them park specific. Once I finish those I will get the rest up and post them here.

cpanagiotakos, those are beautiful! Great job!

For those that have had any copyright problems with getting printed, I designed my daughter's upcoming book on cvs for one day printing and went and picked it up yesterday and had no problems.

Granted, it may vary by store, and it also only had 20 pages as we are doing a cruise and there aren't as many characters, but I thought I'd pass that on to others as an option for printing.

And I was really impressed at the quality for a in house rush job. I'm now thinking if I can find all my daughter's sports pictures from year to year, that I'm going to scan them in this week and make my dad a father's day book.

Hello There!!!

Can you please help me with some designs?

I'm going to WDW on August 2012 with my niece and my nephew

I really need the character meal front page with the restaurants:

Cinderella's Royal Table, Crystal Palace, Chef's Mickey & 1900 Park Fare Breakfast for Luiza

Cinderella's Royal Table, Crystal Palace, Chef's Mickey & 1900 Park Fare Breakfast, T-Rex, Disney Junior Hollywood Vine & Luau at Polynesian Resort for Enzo

Also the front cover for autographs books 8x8 with the castle on the back and all the characters:

Luiza white background and Pink letters : Luiza's Autographs Book Walt Disney World 2012

Thank you so much and I love your designs...

Okay, so I've been playing around in Word with some Universal cards since there aren't many out there. I have everything set the way I want it to look. Now here's my question. How do I save it correctly so I can sent it to print as a picture with Shutterfly or someplace like that?

I just figured out another method that doesn't involved print screen and cropping. Do you have Paint? You should if you have Word. Right click on the image and then click on copy which should be the second option in the list. Then the menu will disappear. Right click on it again and "Paste Options" will appear right under where copy was. Chose the option on the right which looks like a clipboard and will say "picture" if you hover over it. Click on that and be patient. It may take a minute to copy. Open up Paint and use the shortcut control-V and your image will appear!

That's great. They're beautiful.

I just wanted to apologize to everyone for being AWOL for the last week and a half. We had an unexpected death in the family, and I have been trying to deal with the shock and the aftermath. I am back now and will be catching up with the requests shortly. Thank you for understanding.

Hello MusicMouse! I love your character meal covers! Are you still making those? If so, may I have:

one in blue that says: Joshua's Character Meals 2012
one in lavender that says: Evelyn's Character Meals 2012

We are going to Crystal Palace, Play & Dine @ Hollywood & Vine, and Garden Grill.

Thanks in advance!!

We just tried the Garden Grill in March - you are going to love it! Here you go :goodvibes:

We just love our autograph covers. We glued them to the back of a spiral bound notecard set. (we used the back because the lines on the notecards would have shown otherwise) Then I covered with clear packing tape to secure and laminate. They turned out so adorable!! When we return we will pull the notecards out from the perferations and place in a small photo album next to the picture we took with each character!! Thank you so much for your time and effort in helping our trip be all it can be!!!:flower3:

Thank you - I just love to hear the stories of what works for people. It gives everyone plenty of options when they are putting together their own books, and lets them know what works. I hope that you have a magical trip!! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry to hear that!!!!
Praying for you and your family!

I have tried to read this thread from beginning to end and finally skipped to the end around page 34 and worked my way back a bit! :faint: This thread is amazing!

I'm very thankful for those who have requested "Ethan" covers, as that's my little boy's name. He is taking his Wish Trip in November of this year and this will be his (as well as my husband's) first time at WDW. The last time I went was in '93! I know. It's been way too long!

At this time, we are only going to be able to hit 4 parks with 3 day park-hopper passes. We have talked about extending our trip for a day or two, at either the front or back end (depends on how much the flights would cost MAW if we could even do so- we arrive 11/10 and are supposed to depart 11/16).

My question is, how big of an autograph book should I shoot for since we will only have 3 days to hit 4 parks? We are hoping to go to Universal and Islands of Adventure...and maybe Sea World, but it's looking like that probably won't happen. Actually, we may not even do Epcot b/c DS is 3 (will be 4 in December) and it doesn't seem as kid-friendly. I don't know. He may never want to leave GKTW! (That's where we are staying) I wanted to go to MVMCP, but there are two big events at GKTW that conflict both nights the party is going on. What to do, what to do?? Some characters come to GKTW in the mornings, so I'm not sure if we'll do a character meal(s) or not...

Anyway, I'm sorry for rambling. I'm just a bit overwhelmed but tremendously excited! November can't get here fast enough!!

Thank you again. Please excuse this noob!

Would it be possible to have the words "When you wish upon a star..." at the top of the Ethan cover with all 4 parks? No rush, and no biggie if it doesn't work. I'm still trying to figure out what in the world I'm doing over here!

Sincerely,

Amy

You don't need to apologize, Amy. Going to WDW is really exciting!! :cool1: If you are only going to some of the parks and only for a couple of days, I would suggest making cards for the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto), and then use generic cards for the rest of your book (at least 25 more, depending on how crazy for characters that your son is). That way it won't matter who you see, you will have a card for them. I have some generic Disney cards in my photobucket, and Natalie has some lovely ones as well. Here is your cover :goodvibes:

Your cards are awesome! Would you mind starting a new thread with all of your new card DISigns in it so that I can link to them in the first post? (They will get lost in here, otherwise.) Thank you for sharing and welcome to the addiction!! :goodvibes

I'm having a hard time finding a Duffy the Disney Bear autograph card. I'm making a book using Natalie's vol.2 DISigns (2010 cards from her photobucket site). When I used the search forum, I found a Duffy card, enlarged it, downloaded it, but when I go to view it, it appears as a blank card with one thin strip of color in the center. :confused3 None of my other cards have downloaded this way, whether it be Natalie's or someone else's. Not sure, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone happens to have a Duffy card. Thanks!

Penny's right, I have these Duffy cards here :goodvibes:
