Now being an adult, I realize that both Disneyland and World are geared toward the younger members of our species. Great!! I hope that they continue to enjoy these places well into their old age as I intend to do (just put my ashes in the water past the railing at the Blue Bayou). But I am of the opinion that these kids should be able to be upwardly mobile on their own two feet. Does anyone out there hate to be run over by a parent that can't drive?? Should licences have to be earned to be able to drive a stroller?? This is one of my worst Disney peeves. And how about the traffic jams and overcrowded parking areas??(this must sound like I'm talking about downtown San Francisco) Yes, I think Disney needs to rethink the parking areas, but if taxi drivers have to abide by the law, then the all of the stroller driving Parnelli Joneses out there should to. Please let me know how you all feel about the inconsiderate so called stroller operators running loose in the Happiest Place on Earth and making some of the others of us unhappy.

WHAT ABOUT THE "UPWARDLY MOBIL" PEOPLE WHO CUT IN FRONT OF THE STROLLER AND LOOK AT YOU LIKE YOU'VE DONE SOMETHING WRONG.

what you are trying to say...however I wish you would have stated it better and perhaps--nicer.

Del:rolleyes:

I don't like inconsiderate stroller drivers but I also don't like inconsiderate pedestrians who don't watch where they are going and walk out in front of me and then flash me a dirty look. There are inconsiderate people everywhere and it is silly to label all stroller drivers that way. Just as it would be silly to label all people walking on two feet as inconsiderate.

I think it works both ways ...

there are maniacs out there pushing strollers ...

then there are rude/impatient people who just jumped in front of the strollers ...

and then there are times when both the pusher and the walkee aren't paying enough attention to where they are going ... accidents do happen.

Maybe Disney needs to lower the number of people they allow in the parks, but I don't see that happening.

My advise would be to visit Disney during the off-season, fewer people = fewer strollers.

Let me begin by saying that I don't lump all stroller drivers in the same boat. My concern is with those who can't even say "excuse me" or "pardon" or something to that effect. The ones who think that because they have a stroller, they have the right to crash into people, buildings, and yes I have seen it, other strollers. Kudos to all who are considerate and are just as perturbed about these things as I am. On the other note, I don't wish for Disney to limit the guests entering the parks. Yes, we know that will never happen. As far as going off season, well, I go at all times of the year and certain situations are let's just say, no different. I do however hope that Disney will eventually address the parking areas. I do hope that the parking areas will be rearranged as not to encroach into major traffic ways.:smooth:

Hey.

Some people are rude whether they have a stroller or not. What you're basically saying is no rude people allowed.

I agree.

And on our last trip I was repeatedly bumped by a kid pushing a stroller. He complained to his Mom that he couldn't keep up. She replied to just ram them (with the stroller) and they'd move. That was some stellar parenting. We had left our stroller behind that night, but if we hadn't we certainly wouldn't be using it as a weapon.

Sounds like you had a nice trip. Enjoyed reading your about your positive, enjoyable trip.

I can only hope we don't degenerate into something out of Mad Max and start massive stroller carnage down Main Street.

OH COOL!! Stroller Races!!!

Line em up parents!!

first one to hit a rude pedestrian speaking a foreign language smoking a cig on Main Street USA WINS!!!

IT's A JOKE!!!!

It is certainly better than the alternative. Can you imagine all of the toddlers running around and being knocked over? Now that is a lot more serious than being bumped into by a stroller.

I purposely didn't read the other posts before responding myself. I just have to say that there's another side to every story. I try to be very cognizant of others when I have DD in a stroller but I've encountered many people sans stroller that have litterly walked into my stroller when exiting a store/ride/restaurant and have really coped an attitude. I personally see many more children that probably should be in a stroller and aren't then ones that are and shouldn't be. It's hard for some children to sit so they are allowed to walk even though that might not be the best solution in a crowd. It's hard for other children to walk long distances or at a decent pace so they are allowed to ride even though that might not be the best solution in a crowd. My conclusion is that there's no pleasing everyone so I'm just going to do what I think is best and is the least disruptive to others.

Am I the only person in the world who has been to WDW three times and has never had a bad experience with someone pushing a stroller?

That's my big pet peeve. We've been hit by many an older sibling pushing a stroller. I also hate it when parents let their young children push shopping carts in the grocery store Thankfully, whoever thought up the brilliant idea of the little "kids carts" has reconsidered and all of our area stores have removed them. ::yes::

Worse than being hit by the strollers is being hit by those electric scooter things....I must have gotten rammed from behind a dozen times by people in those things last trip!!

I think the big problem with the scooters is that people rent them...but they don't practice driving them before they head out to the parks. Maybe they should have some sort of scooter driver's ed if they've never driven one before. :jester:

I see both sides of this even though our son is too old for a stroller now. Although I wish I could have ridden in one last time I was there:) We did run into a situation where a family was getting ready to go up some stairs (I think we were getting on the train at MK, I can't remember for sure) Anyway this family was having trouble collapsing their stroller. Dad took the little girl and went on up when they thought it was collapsed. As mom started up the stroller came open. So she stopped to fix it. We were behind them so we just waited. No big deal. However another couple behind us LITERALLY shoved past us. :earseek: This angered my husband. (Don't mess with a mom or a child when he is around:) ) He helped her get the stroller fixed then walked in front of her up the steps. Looked at the couple and told them to move so she could go through....Ok not in those words though. He said it very quietly and sternly so as to get his point across and not allow the small child to hear exactly what he said. The couple moved aside quickly and apologized to the mom with the stroller.:smooth: Rick is large and can look really mean, but those that know him know he is a teddy bear.;)

that would depend on who is falling and who is being bumped.
Control your kids and control your actions and no one has to get hurt.

YOu must be.

We've been 12 times (all adults only trips - no kids) and we have never had any problems at all with strollers. We're making our first trip with a baby of our own in May and we will have a stroller. We will, of course, be on our best behavior.
