I couldn't have said it better myself. My child stays in the stroller to keep her safe. I don't know how many times our stroller has been bumped, pushed etc. But thankfully she was strapped in and I had a good hold on it so it would not fall over. We try not to be in the mad rush out of the park after fireworks etc because of that very reason.Originally posted by damo
It is certainly better than the alternative. Can you imagine all of the toddlers running around and being knocked over? Now that is a lot more serious than being bumped into by a stroller.
No problems here either. They are part of life anywhere.Originally posted by disykat

Vhoffman being unfamiliar with a vehicle is no excuse for running over someone's foot. If they haven't gotten the hang of it then they should practice a bit before going out in the throngs of people. If they cannot handle one then please have someone wheel them in a chair. BTW, both times we've had our feet run over it was from an ECV backing up! They were not watching where they were going. They just decided to back up and ran right over our feet!Originally posted by vhoffman
Please do realize that ECV's are difficult to control in a crowd and can't be stopped on a dime. Also, like another poster pointed out, many people rent them and aren't really familiar with driving them. Kind of like how you feel when you drive a rent car--you just don't quite have the feel of it like your own car. I tell my children to be careful of ECV's for the reasons I just said. On our recent trip we were watching the parade at MGM. My six-year old son sat right next to a lady in an ECV. I knew he was too close to her for her to see him. I told him to move away and don't get too close to that lady. Well, the way I said it just came out wrong. It sounded like I thought she was something undesirable and wanted to keep my son away from her when actually I was just trying to be considerate of her. The look on her face told me she misinterpreted it. I felt so bad but couldn't say anything without making things worse. Hope I didn't ruin her day. But those darned things are hard to manuveur and people should try to stay out of their paths (and they should learn how to drive them better)

No disykat you are not. We've been there 3 times in 4 years, and I've never had any kind of bad experience with anyone pushing a stroller. We usually go in Jan or Feb and not during real busy times, maybe that's why. I've never really given the strollers a second thought.
