Wanted my 500th to be special but don't have any trip updates. So here's a picture of my furry princess instead.

Isn't she cute? :lovestruc

Hi just stared reading your PTR I really enjoyed it. I wood like to go on a solo trip to WDW but DH isn't sure if he tinks it a good idea.

I agree that waiting until the thrid day of your trip to go the Magic KIngdom would be hard tio wait for. Why no go, if it to crowded you could always just people watch or go to another park.

I like your drink list and your other list too. Could you please tell what and where to get the Lapa-Lapa and The Grand marnia slushi.

Lucky you a AP, I wish I could go more often, but always once every 3 or 4 years is all I can afford. Looking forward to reading your TR.

What a beautiful picture of your Molly!!! She looks just like the Golden we used to have, named Brandy. We had her for 14 years and she was by far the best dog we ever had.

Awww. Thanks. Her name is Molly. Miss Molly when she's being bad. ;)

I have a long way to go in terms of posts to get into the big leagues with you two -- in the thousands!!! :worship:

It happens fast, I promise! I don't even know how I managed to have a post count quite so high -- I guess I like commenting on everything I read! :goodvibes

Hi!! :wave2: Thanks for joining! Yes, I think I've decided that I simply must make it to MK on my first day. My latest plan is to get to the Beach Club, check in, lunch at Beaches 'n Cream or an Epcot counter service then monorail it over to MK. OK there may be a celebratory glass of champagne from France in the plan too... you caught me. :rolleyes1 And yes, I am slightly alarmed that my plan gets down to that level of detail!

Thanks so much! Goldens are the best. I had one before Molly too and they are amazing. Characters but amazing! Molly is the hit of my neighborhood. I don't have kids but the kids in the neighborhood ring the doorbell and ask to play with Molly!

I can see how addictive it is. In fact, I find myself emailing with "regular" friends (you all are my "special" friends ;) ) and looking for a certain smiley or using DIS abbreviations and realizing that these people aren't going to have any clue what I'm talking about.

I do that, too! I really could use the DIS smileys in regular emails because I no longer know how to convey :scared1: and  without them! :rotfl:

Yikes! I meant to answer this question... and I thought I had my priorities straight! :sad2:

The Lapu-Lapu, as far as I know, is available exclusively at the Polynesian hotel. The Grand Marnier slushie is available, I think, at a stand in the France pavilion within World Showcase.

I haven't tried either so can report more definitively on a location in October. :goodvibes

Exactly! :rotfl2:

What if it rains? A few DIS friends have returned from trips recently and they had a lot of rain. A LOT. And it got me thinking about how I would handle it if it rained a lot during my trip.

Do you remember the commercial that went something like this:

We are nippersnickers (sp?)
We're in luck
If it rains all day, we'll pretend we're ducks
Quack, quack, waddle, waddle....

Anyone? Hello?

Here's my "rain pledge" and I may waddle... just not on purpose :rotfl:

*I will not let it ruin my trip.
*I will remember that I cannot control mother nature.
*I will remember that only the wicked witch melts in the rain and despite what the people at work say, I am not her ;)
*I will put on my poncho and get to it!
*I will enjoy just NOT being at work and being at my happy place
*I will duck into a restaurant and have myself a drink (even if it's 9am-- mimosas anyone?)
*I will remember some strategic attractions for rain showers:
MK- Hall of Presidents, Tiki Room, Philharmagic, the Emporium!
EP - Ellen's Universe of Energy or whatever it is called, The Land pavilion, Mousegear, Innoventions
HS- One Man's Dream, Animation bldg
AK- Safari - supposedly the animals are more active in the rain/cooler temps?
Downtown Disney- shops and/or restaurants; maybe a movie
* I will look for rainbows

What are your suggestions for a rainy day???

I really really needed to read this tonight. It's perfect for all my rainy day worries! Thank you!

No worries, LL - you're going to have a GREAT time!!! I'll miss you while you're traveling but know it will be worth it when you're back!! :goodvibes Take good notes and good pedicure juju to you!!

*You will bring a light sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt to throw on as when you are wet, those AC attractions can be FREEZING!

*You will switch out shoes. Wear one pair by day, another at night. Wearing the same pair when your feet are soaked all day I found to be really uncomfy and things rubbed and switching shoes changed up where things rubbed so it helped a bit.

If it rains, just Slosh On!

I love WDW in the rain. My advice would be to hope that everybody else chickens out and you'll have the parks to yourself!

The countdown is at 52 days and it feels like it will never get here! I really cannot wait! And it doesn't help that in between now and then I have several high stress projects at work that I am dreading. Dreading. I have got to get a job that does not induce panic attacks! :sad2:

But that's not why I'm posting. Have you heard of wine lanyards? The F&W thread mentioned them so I googled and there they were! Lanyards that attach to the stem of your wine glass so as to allow your hands to be free for eating, picture taking or whatever. A little dorky maybe but practical.
