I've mentioned our Royal Botanical Gardens on threads here before. It's a gorgeous and world famous (especially the Lilac Dell) gardens, with thousands of visitors every year. My DH built the Mediterranean Greenhouse many years ago.
Yesterday a grade 5 class was on a school outing at the gardens, one group out of approx. 200 children who had toured the park that day.
It was a very windy day here, and a powerful gust of wind (perhaps a micro burst), blew down a large tree and killed a 10 year old boy.
Three other students suffered minor injuries.
Such a tragic and freak occurence at a place of such beauty.
That poor little boy, and his devastated family. My heart goes out to them.
