Ok here goes my first quick dining review
Counter Service
Pecos Bill - I still really love the burgers here, I don't love the crowds, but the night we got a table a view of the spectromagic parade, was nice
Tempura Bar in Japan - Sushi and Tempura, with really good Sake, can't be beat
Earl of Sandwhich - I like the sandwhich's, but this place seems crazy all the time, and the CM's don't seem like they always enjoy (yet I can't blame them)
The Fish and Chips place in England - Fish was really good, and it was always nice, to be washed down with a nice tall Boddingtons. One thing to mention is that one of the bartenders, Carl, is probably one of the best we have seen, in a long time (this coming from two bartenders)
The Bar by the Flatbread place - Good drinks and another great bartender, Randy was our man for a quick beer for a break.
Table Service
Le'Cellier - Service was great, she was training, and seemed better than most that we have had, that weren't training. We really enjoyed the atmospehre also. Oddly enough the dining room was smaller than I thought. My girlfriend really enjoyed the pork tenderloin that she got. I got the mushroom filet, all though it was good very good flavor, it seemed the steak was a bit tough, but what accompianed it, was amazing, and really made up for it. For an appetiezer we had Mussels (very good), and the cheese soup, the soup just didn't really go with the mussels, but was still very good...
California Grill - Service wasn't great, seemed as if she were new, but we cut her some slack, as she was very nice, but it seemed as if we had to shut out every time we wanted another glass of wine. The food here was very good, the sashimi platter was really good, the fish was amazing fresh. The DGF has the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravoli, and seemed to enjoy it. For Entree's I had the Filet, which was good, once again I thought it could be a bit more tender, but it was still good. The GF had Pork once again (BTW these reviews are not in chronological order), she thought it was good, but perfered the Le'Celleier. I don't remember dessert, but it was paired well with a few dessert wines, and were enjoyable. I don't think I would go back to the california grill, if it weren't for the amazing view, although, I would consder it if it were a less rushed server (she always seemed to be running around like a crazy person, while everyone else were much more casual)
Artist Point
Donald was our server, and he was very good, and very friendly. We had the Mussels and Cheese plate as appitiezers. The cheese was good, the Mussels were good, and there had to be 50 of them, would definetly get them again. DGF had the Buffalo Sirlion, she liked it, but thought it just tasted like a steak, but a bit more tender. I had the Salmon, and it was defintely one the better ones I have ever had. Once again, I don't remember the desserts, well mine anyway, but DGF loved the Coffee Two ways.
Jiko
This was probably our best experience at a restraunt in the World. Lucius was our server, and if you go, and want a great experience, ask for him. Being novices with South African wines, we asked him to guide our wine exprience, gave him an idea of what we liked, and from there, the wine selections were amazing. We started with the Maize and Sweet Potato Tamales, which were very good, and Bacon-Arugla Tomato Flatbread, which was just ok, nothing amazing, but ok. DGF had the Halibut, which she really enjoyed, and she was a bit apprehensive, but after trying a bite, she fell in love with it. I had the Filet (again), and this was by far the best one I had, the sauce and the macaroni and cheese with it were amazing, and the steak was very tender. Finally we finished off with the cheese plate, and two great wines, with it. Out of all our TS meals Jiko is top of the list. Plus we really liked walking around the AKL (probably be our next stay), amazing views, great CM's, and a great restraunt.
Man that was long, well any questions, I am willing and hopefully able to answer them....
