Has DA Pins made to much of a good thing? I was just looking at it and was amazed to see some nice looking pins still up there. And LE's of 500. I was wondering do you think DA has made to much of a good thing with all the pins they are putting out? Should they maybe limit them to once a week or twice a month?

I feel they have made to many pins. I would like to see them maybe offer one a week or two at most. But to put 3 or 4 twice a week is way to many. And it is showing as they are sitting on the shelf (so to speak). They keep relisting older DA pins but those sit as well.

What is your opinion?

So, you have been reviewing your tape of the superbowl again? ;) Maggie

Sorry, I could not resist. :teeth:

I think Disney went to the well one too many times on the frequency of pins being put up for auction. Don't get me wrong some pins are great (i.e. Stitch pins, and villains like Maleficent), but there have been some clunkers put up too and the only reason those have sold were because of the LE factor.

I would like to see 5 to 10 pins offered at one time staggered throughout the day so people in all time zones could get a shot of bidding on a pin rather than finding out 500 Stitch pin sold out in 6 minutes while at work. And they would be offered two times per month to maintain the newness of the DA's.

Hmmmmm................

Although I hate to say this, because I absolutely love DA pins, and I love the whole concept, but I think it's a case of too many P.I.N.S. released, AND not enough traders!! Really! I mean 500 is a very low edition, so I think part of the reason these pins aren't selling out is that perhaps the number of traders/collectors has gone down. There was a day, when an LE of a 1000 let alone a 500 whould have sold out in no time.

I think I would have to agree--maybe once a week release as a first change; if that doesn't do the trick, maybe once a week, and reduce the number released.

I think Disney is releasing too many pins in general, not only P.I.N.S., but the parks and all around the world. They are flooding the market, and the quality of many of the pins is not up to par...

People are becoming disenchanted with the weekly auction pins because some of them sell out so fast. I wish there was a way for DA to limit the number of pins purchased to make it more equitable for everyone.

I think we may have crossed the line on how many new pins we can handle in one week....and this is every week! :earseek:

I'm not sure I have an issue with the quality, so much as the creativity. Some of the DA P.I.N.S. are wonderful! The carousel series particularly is one of my favorites. :teeth: (But where's my Minnie??? :( )

But how many versions of Stitch with Duckings do we actually need???

And must we really have Maleficient and the Raven three different ways???? I'm now waiting for the fourth version, in which we see a rear view of Maleficient with the Raven. :smooth:

On the other hand, I definitely did run into one big quality issue: The princesses at their mirrors. :( I was ssssooo disappointed. The faces are done so poorly. When I saw the preview of this set, I really wanted it for my collection. But once I bought the first two pins, I gave up on the set entirely. Belle looked like she had collagen injections in her lips. :crazy2:

LOL RobYn...that Belle pin is awful(so much attention paid to the chair and dressing table...Belle was almost an afterthought)! She looks like Meg "I don't know what you're talking about, I haven't done anything to my lips" Ryan. Maybe it's the start of a new set...the big lipped princess series:

Can't wait to see Cinderella's new lips! :teeth:

Creativity had definitely dropped off (when I said quality, I was refering to quality of design). They are just pumping them put too fast.

Right, Leslie!

We were on the same track. Poor quality = how about a new design?

I'd forgotten about that scary Tink pin..... :earseek:

I really think it is too much of a good thing.

From someone that has only visited there a few times, and only because I do not have a snowballs' chance in hades of getting them.

And for those of us that do not have may pins to trade, we may never see them unless you have a generous trader.
