Well, actually, more than one question.

1. How 'effective' is Pal Mickey? Is it really fun and informative? or does it become annoying after awhile?

2. Is it worth renting or should I just buy the thing.

3. It's mentioned that if you buy it, we can also use it for interactive Disney games. Is this true or is it only something that Disney plan to do in their future games?

We never actually ended up renting one, but talked to someone at AKL about it and if you rent it and then decide to purchase it, you can apply the rental fee toward to price.

I bought ours the first day we were there, thinking my 4 year old would play with him. She enjoyed him but I must say it was the adults who had the most fun with him. Everytime we went past a new ride he vibrates and laughs and then tells you something about that attraction. For example on Space Mountain he said "Hold my ears back next to my head, cause thats how they will look on this ride. It goes really fast!" I though he was really funny! I put him on a bottle strap and wore him around my neck. He also plays games and tells really corny jokes. I thought he was areally fun toy!:D

it has been a blast for our entire family as our anticipation and excitement builds. My youngest DD'd Godfather brought one back for her birthday in September. We break it out after dinner a couple times a week. We play the games and then it gets us started talking about what we'll be doing first in each park. It really has already been a lot of fun. I hope we enjoy it as much on out trip. I am wondering if we'll get tired of keeping track of Pal, though. The way I look at it, if you have little ones to keep track of anyway.

We rented one on our Oct trip and we actually thought it was pretty lame. He told the same corny jokes over and over again and not much interesting information. But we seem to be in the minority.

YIKES.... don't tell me that.... I was so excited that I was high bidder on one on e-bay this week!! Can't wait to get it!! ..P

dsneygirl, did yours tell about park rides and shows? Ours had trouble the 2nd day (it was telling us the parade was about to start at 2 instead of 3) anyway sometimes they need to be rebooted. If yours only told the jokes it may have not been picking up the signals from around the park. That would not have been as much fun.:D

That's possible. I'm thinking maybe the jokes are like the default setting when it can't pick up a signal.
I was expecting it to me full of information but we would go into a country at Epcot and it would tell us one really obvious statement. (I thought it had insider info)

I've found that the farther you venture into each of the Epcot countries, the more Mickey has to say about it. Like if you just walk past the country, he says one thing. But if you walk back into the country and explore the shops and attractions and stuff, he says more about that country. I think he had like 4 or 5 things to say around Norway, for example.

Where do you get them, if you want to get it before your trip? I think it would be a great gift for my girls for Christmas.

when I looked there were about three different ones available.... one brand new in the package, one brand new but no package, and one slightly used. I opted to bid on the new but no package one, as I thought it seemed like the best deal. I won it for a total of $45 including S/H for priority mail. Assuming that it is as it was represented to be (I haven't received it yet), then I got a good deal. You also may be able to call the stores at the parks and order one to be mailed. I believe the total regular price, including tax is $60.00. I also heard rumor that the price is going up, but just a rumor!!!

Thanks Pjilla, I looked on e-Bay and there was one with 6 days left to go at $20. I will watch that one, I may try to call down there and get one. Thanks again!!
