A question about going in March?

I am Canadian, and recently found out that I will be in the Disneyland area for our spring break, which runs from March 14-21. I am normally someone who goes to Disneyworld, since it is so much closer, and I don't know anything about holiday breaks for the west coast. Does anyone know how crowded the Disneyland Park (not the California Adventure) would be at that time of year? We would still have to drive a few hours, and I don't want to put my 4 year-old son through that if it is going to be incredibly crowded. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's when many states go on break. I know Hawaii here does, and they head for Cali. I have heard it can get slammed at that tins, but i'm sure others here might have suggestions.

Whenever I go with my family we go during our spring break, which is the week later then you are going. But every time we've gone during that time, it was pretty crowded. The only time it wasn't crowded during that time was the year where it rained really hard the entire time!

I imagine next March will be better crowd wise simply because Easter is in April. I know Spring Break for us is always over Easter weekend. We're planning a trip for the 1st week of March.

March will be better crowd wise but it will still be busy. Around here you don't just have to watch for CA school breaks but also AZ, OR, WA, NV.....there are a lot of people who come to CA/DL for Spring Break. Oh and why would you not do DCA? When you buy multi day passes they are automatically park hoppers....and DCA is about 100 yards across the esplanade from DL so it really isn't any "trouble" to go to DCA as well as DL.

I agree, especially to avoid crowds at peak times in the day. hopping over to DCA (where your son will love bug's land) is a great idea.

We've always had pretty good luck with March even when we go during spring break. The majority of the Phoenix area (from what I've been told) it the 2nd and 3rd weeks fo March. I know ours is the 2nd week.

I'll be there the end of March while the kid goes on a school trip to Chicago. I'm kind of expecting a crowd though. That's o.k. It'll still be fun.

I also wholeheartedly second CA Adventure for your little one.

Another Canadian here ....We are going to be at DL and DCA on March 2,3 and 4th. Do any of you DL veterans have any crowd advice for early March. Should early March be quieter then late March ?

I'm not great with big big crowds. We did WDW last May (first week) and it was fabulous. I don't mind 20 min waits but I can't stand thick crowds where walking is difficult.
