~ A PTR for a CAMPING Trip That Might Never Be ~ *TR Started (link inside)*

I didn't know UG had the book Beyond Disney. How do you like it? Think is worth it to buy now to use over the next 5 years or so? I'm planning only one or two days off disney property is coming trip.

I love Sea World. Have you been in awhile? We went Jan 07. Let me know if you need info. They have the worst website.

I haven't really read that one enough to give you my opinion on it. I'll look through it more today and get back to you :thumbsup2

The only Sea World we've been to is the one in Australia so I'm very excited to go to the one in Orlando. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for you as I begin planning.

Please tell me that's not a baboon on his CHEEK? :scared1:

It looks like Rafiki ;)

Nope. Keep guessing ;)

Your sons are so cute. Love the pics of boys feeding the wallaby. Too cute!

We share the same book obsession. I LOVE bookstores and can't resist. Barnes & Noble and Borders are visited at least once a week. And there's a small shop called The Corner Bookstore near work that has books that are harder to find. Like you, I love reading travel books and getting all sorts of ideas.

I meant to start working on my ptr, but then had some unexpected things pop up. I hope to start tomorrow after work. I'll bring my laptop to MD so as I'm eating Chick Fil A, I can compose an installment of my report. I need serious help :rotfl2:

So when is your first camping trip?

I'm not sure yet. It'll probably be sometime in April. Just waiting for some warmer weather to arrive! Hopefull this week I'll actually make a reservation somewhere.

Congratulations.gif

You must be so excited!!!

Were you in the bathroom while writing this? I'm picturing you sneaking in there with your laptop like someone else might sneak and smoke a cigarette :rotfl:

As expected, had a hard time falling asleep last night even though I didn't go to bed until almost 11 (which was still only 10 for me). I told my husband to wake me up before he left for work since I had a feeling I would oversleep. I'm normally up by 6 or 6:30, but with the time change and the fact that the boys have to leave for school at 7:35, I didn't want to risk it. They're still sleeping of course (they're always up early!) so I'll probably have to wake them up in a bit. I'm glad we turned the clocks ahead, but hopefully we'll all adjust soon!

Thanks because I'd love a reason to buy another vacation book.

SeaWorld is park that needs a plan. The shows are timed in such a way that you could miss most of them if you did have a game plan ahead of time.

:rotfl: I hear ya!

Just had to come and do some celebratory dancing since I turned in my final paper and I am now finished with my last assignment for my Associates Degree!!!!!

(I had to delete your smilies, because then I was over the limit to add mine!)

:yay: :yay: :yay: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Congratulations!!!

Btw, what is your Associate's Degree for? I don't remember you ever saying - and what will you be continuing on for your Bachelor's? (great grammar there, lol!)

I have to admit, I'm much too cheap to buy lots of books at a time. I do have a huge bag that goes to the library with me each week, however. But, I've gotten a lot pickier about actually buying books lately. Esp. since I'm out of bookshelf space!

I was telling dh last night that the 2 ways I could end up blowing lots of money very quickly are either on travel or stuff for the house & garden/yard. Other than that, I'm pretty frugal - tho it doesn't seem that way when groceries are over $100 a week. Eek! But, I digress...

You do have some utterly adorable pics of the kids in there - and love the repeat of Pepere's pic!

My Associates is in Criminal Justice. It was the only thing that really piqued my interest when I enrolled. It's in Social and Behavorial Sciences, which I love so I went with it. I'm very glad to be done with it though! I've had enough of law and crime. I have considered being a parole officer in the future (one who mainly deals with juveniles), but it's a very small possibility. My major before (when I was taking classes at UMaine) was elementary education. My Bachelors will be in Human Services Management.

Nope. Not a wallaby. Here's a picture of what's on his cheek:

If no one gets it by tonight, I'll give the answer ;)

[raises hand and jumps up and down in her seat] I know I know!!! Pick me Pick me!!!

(i googgled it so I won't spoil the answer in case someone actually knows it)

Go ahead! I figured someone would have to do research to find out (unless an Aussie stumbled across the thread, but then they'd have an unfair advantage :rotfl: ).

AH!! I know now!!! How did I not know that it was a bilby??? I did a report on them last year!!

:rotfl2:

Wow.

Wow.

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner folks!!

That cute, adorable rat-looking creature is a bilby. It's kind of like an Australian rabbit and so you see lots of stuffed bilbies around at Easter. There's even a book called Easter Bilby and the day that Owen got that bilby painted on his face, we got to meet the author of the books. She was from the town we lived in (Alice Springs).

It's how the old Easter Bunny is getting tired and he's trying to find someone to take over his job. And since rabbits were brought over to Australia many years ago (they're not native), they pretty much overran the poor bilbies. Rabbits were/are a huge problem in Australia. So the Easter Bunny passes the job to the Easter Bilby.

And that's your Australian lesson for the day :)

Dani, here's your prize!

If I would have known there was a cookie for a prize I would have spilled the jelly beans! :lmao:

You will love camping at FW. I started taking my boys to FW when my third was 2.5 and I took my youngest for the first time when he was 1.5. My boys are now 22, 19, 15 and 11 and they still love to go to FW. The oldest 2 now have their own busy lives with work and college but every time they hear we are going to the fort they try to take some time from their schedules to join us for a few days. My second one even told me that when he has own family he wants to take them camping at the fort.

We started out with tent camping using air matresses and sleeping bags and in 2006 we bought a pop-up camper and love it. On our last camping trip we did not even go to the theme parks, we just enjoyed the campground and everything it has to offer.

I look forward to seeing how your plans work out.
