A Princess, Pirates and Pixie Dust!

OMG! I hope you weren't seriously hurt, even though the pain in your wrist is not indicating good news. :scared1:

The Pirate League looks like a lot of fun. :thumbsup2 Your grandsons all look like mighty scary pirates! :goodvibes

Ouch! Hope your wrist ends up being ok. People are just so oblivious to their surroundings sometimes.

$30 isn't terrible for the makeovers. I'm putting on the list for my niece and nephew's next trip.

Oh I hope you were all right !! Sometimes people jus don't pay attention to their surroundings and who could be hurt by what they are doing !!! The PL looks great !!

Comments on the wrist below - PL was really better than I expected!

They did have a lot of fun! It was so fun to have Londynn all fixed up like a princess, and then the boys all done up like pirates!

I think they will really enjoy it! They do a mermaid look for girls, too!

About the wrist -I probably should have been seen, but I didn't really know where to go, and by time we got home it was improving quite a bit - it took about a month to be able to use it right, and about 3 months to get my strength back - it's just that if you wait too long, there's not much they can do for you - I have been working for orthopedic surgeons - I kind of have a hunch or two. Some nerve symptoms still, but with a new job, I guess I'll just wait for it to be a bigger concern, or not. :goodvibes

And then IT happened.

Cue foreboding music...

I was looking for the sign, and then it happened – it felt like slow motion, as these things do….. I felt myself falling – actually something pushed me over…I let go of Londynn… I tried to stumble forward and get my balance, and something was stopping me….I looked down to see a big blue sneaker wrapped around my ankle! Then

BAM! I hit the ground, first on my hands, then my knees, and then the kids tell me, my face!

 Holy smokes!!

The gentleman with the big blue sneakers picked me up, I know – kind of held me standing until my family came over. He apologized, and asked if I was okay. I remember saying yes, my knee just hurts. And then he was gone like Donkey Kong!

What? He just... left????
What's with that???

(To be fair, I think I heard Ryan say, "Dude! what were you doing?" and Lindsay said something to him, too. I think he was scared.)

You still don't just buzz off!

I looked over at my kids..”He TRIPPED ME!” I was so confused as to why someone would trip you right there in the MK!

I know this is bad... but...
That's funny.

There's no crying... or Tripping... in Disney!

Mark was extremely upset

I would think so!

It turns out from the report of my kids, my head bounced off the pavement pretty good.

You're lucky you weren't knocked out.

I was either hard headed or my angel was watching over me.

I'll go with hard headed.

what?

About this time, I noticed my left thumb wouldn’t move, and my wrist hurt really bad.

Oh, carp.

I could see she was prepared with her loss prevention training, and quite relieved when she didn’t need it. And when I looked back, she also was gone like Donkey Kong

What's with everybody taking off?

He offered to call the medics, but I said not now. I was not missing this Pirate appointment with my little guys!

Oh, you're such a grandma!

He got me an ice pack and told me if I needed anything else he would be right there.

Odd....
He didn't run off.

Jim showed up and I had him pull on my thumb (not my finger :rotfl2:)

:lmao:

they put on the old Cockney accents, (Londynn decided to talk like that for half the next day. :rotfl2:)

:lmao:

The boys all got to choose their make- up style, and they got a sword and a leather-like sash, and a little bag of pirate loot, as well as a pirate scroll with their pirate name.

That's pretty cool for little boys.

Then I heard that if they were close to age 3 you could get them to fudge it for you. So I called and added him to the ressie – I just explained that he would be a month away from his birthday, (which was true) and she said, “and what is your 3 years olds name?”

Love that!

I really like that shot.

Oh, just a side note - I have resigned my Oregon job and I have been promoted to Office Manager at the Texas job - I start Monday morning - I am sad that I won't be working from home much, but happy that I will be getting vacation time and more $$ for Disney! :dance3:

Good luck with the new job.
And thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

Cue foreboding music...

 Holy smokes!!

What? He just... left????
What's with that???

You still don't just buzz off!

It was cowardly - maybe he was afraid of a lawsuit or had ADRS at CP! :lmao:

I know this is bad... but...
That's funny.

There's no crying... or Tripping... in Disney!

Hey now! :)

what?

Oh, carp.

What's with everybody taking off?

Funny, you know if I was standing on a fence rail or something she would have been right there - if you might need to file an insurance claim, they are nowhere to be found. It's happened to me before at a college football game, too. What's bad is sometimes you need medical attention and don't know where to get it. :sad2:

Oh, you're such a grandma!

Odd....
He didn't run off.

:lmao:

I really like that shot.

I love how she took so much time to just chat with him.

Good luck with the new job.
And thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

Thank you! and thanks for reading.

I'm back and it seems my computer is cooperating, so I'll get this pirate update wrapped up.

Here's a couple more finished.

After all the pirate transformations were done, we tipped our pirate ladies and were taken through a secret door for a secret pirate oath and a great photo session. Here's the CM getting an oath of secrecy from our worthy pirates:

The secret door:

We got packages for each of the boys included in our FP+!!! Evan was afraid of the photographer (she had some kind of disfiguring disease, I think. Her nose was VERY large, and she looked a little frightening in the dim light.) She was wonderful she took him outside and took a private session of him outside the only thing bad was that we had to come back for his package, and somehow it didnt make it onto our FP card.

Here's some from the boys' photoshoot

I spoke to the gentleman about the medics I was thinking it might be good to get an x-ray. My hand was not moving well, and it was painful and numb at the same time not much swelling, but a lot of pain. He said that if he called them, they would have to take me out on a stretcher, because they have to treat all patients the same. Okay, in the words of a president I once admired, Not gonna do it! I was not about to interrupt our MK day for something like that. I decided to stick it out and check with first aid later.

I almost forgot to mention the Pixie Dust the CM who gave me the ice pack also asked how many in our party and gave us a 11 FP for anything in the park that day! Mark said I took one for the team. This was the start of many magical moments that happened for us the rest of the trip! I'm wondering if Mickey was watching on the security camera, and they recognized us and tried to make sure I had a great rest of my trip :confused3
With pirates and princess in tow, what should we do??? Ride POC of course!

We had almost no wait for POC, and then we headed over to JC very short wait there, also. The skipper made a comment that we needed to keep our hands out of the water, because the crocodiles were hungry, especially for little girls wearing tiaras. Londynn picked right up on what she said and gave him the evil eye. Then he had the boat sing Happy Birthday to her, cuz she had a Birthday Princess sash. He got her back, because she blushed very red!

After getting off POC, I noticed this walkway that went toward the back of the building with this really cool backdrop that was roped off. I asked a CM if we could duck in there for pictures, and she was happy to oblige us.

Now it was time to use our FP for Splash! We all took turns Mason was in this seat with Ryan and Dana, but you cant see him ducking down.

. I guess we didnt get Marks on their ride, but we did take turns again while the toddlers napped in the strollers. We tried to get on the train back to Main Street station from Frontierland, but they wouldnt let us bring the stroller up the wheelchair ramp. They wanted us to take the sleeping babies out and fold the stroller up and carry it so we walked.

Oh wait! Maybe my theory is blown right there. They should have sent a private car around for us and carried the stroller up the steps for us. :lmao:

At this time, we decided to split up and then meet up on Main Street for our dinner ADRs. Of course, it was getting to be 3pm by this time do we all know what that means in July in Olando???? Ill let you keep guessing.

Oh no about getting tripped!! Sorry to hear it took so long for your wrist to feel better. :sad2:

The boys look great after their makeovers!!! Something I so want to do with my boys!!

Sounds like you still got a lot done after PL. That was awesome that they gave you FP for any ride. Hope you were able to put them to good use!

Yes, the PL is great fun for the little boys, and not too expensive. I didn't know they would get into it as much as they did - I just wanted to try to do something for them since I was doing BBB for Londynn.

Funny, because we were so excited to have the FP, but we already had them for Splash, and then we didn't need them for POC or JC. I think Ryan and Dana used them for date night later that night - and Mark's used them for Stitch, as you will see.

thanks for all the pirate pics, i havent seen that many before usually just one or two. so good to see what it entails.

I am happy to share! After the makeover, they are invited to be in a pirate parade later ,but we only had this one day left at MK so we wanted to get some rides in. Do you think this will be on your agenda for Parker soon?pirate:

'Cause what's a pirate without a secret door and oath?

the only thing bad was that we had to come back for his package, and somehow it didnt make it onto our FP card.

So you have none of those shots?

Here's some from the boys' photoshoot

I would not want to run across these characters in a dark alley!

He said that if he called them, they would have to take me out on a stretcher, because they have to treat all patients the same.

I can see you arguing as they put you on the stretcher:
"I'm telling you, I'm fine! It's just my wrist! I can walk! Honest!"

Okay, in the words of a president I once admired, Not gonna do it!

Hmmm.... Course I'm not as up on your Presidents, but... Bush Sr.?

I was not about to interrupt our MK day for something like that. I decided to stick it out and check with first aid later.

That's our girl! What a trouper!

I almost forgot to mention the Pixie Dust the CM who gave me the ice pack also asked how many in our party and gave us a 11 FP for anything in the park that day!

Nice! Paid a high price for them, though.

I'm wondering if Mickey was watching on the security camera, and they recognized us and tried to make sure I had a great rest of my trip

Yeah. That's probably it.

The skipper made a comment that we needed to keep our hands out of the water, because the crocodiles were hungry, especially for little girls wearing tiaras.

:lmao:

Londynn picked right up on what she said and gave him the evil eye. Then he had the boat sing Happy Birthday to her, cuz she had a Birthday Princess sash. He got her back, because she blushed very red!

Excellent! :rotfl:

After getting off POC, I noticed this walkway that went toward the back of the building with this really cool backdrop that was roped off. I asked a CM if we could duck in there for pictures, and she was happy to oblige us.

That's pretty good pixie dust right there.

They wanted us to take the sleeping babies out and fold the stroller up and carry it so we walked.

Probably a good choice.

Been there, done that.

Oh wait! Maybe my theory is blown right there. They should have sent a private car around for us and carried the stroller up the steps for us. :lmao:

At least you don't expect much now, do you?

Of course, it was getting to be 3pm by this time do we all know what that means in July in Olando????

Yup. Hundreds of people in MK start asking, "When is the three o'clock parade?"

NEXT UP: Drowning on TTA

Oh, dear.

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

That's why I want to do it for the boys. Since I want to do BBB for Sarah. Price is right too since I'll have 2 boys to pay for since the baby will be way to young in June.

Well at least they got used. But for Stitch anything but Stitch!!! :confused3

Donna, thank you for your sweet comments and Welcome! :welcome:

I'm so sorry to hear that your dad didn't get to meet your son, or for your family to be all together for the memories. I'm glad you are making the time to go with your mom. Maybe you could do something special to honor your dad's memory. KatMark who is on this thread, buys a balloon to give a chld in her dad's honor, because he always bought her boys a balloon in the park. :goodvibes

Thank you so much for reading! I will put up another installment tomorrow - just for you! :goodvibes

That is an awesome idea!! I will definitely do that. Will have to look at the pictures and find a good spot to do something! Thanks so much for the idea!!!

So sorry about the wrist!:scared:
The pirates are super cutepirate:

Thank you! They did turn out really well.

'Cause what's a pirate without a secret door and oath?

Right? pirate:

So you have none of those shots?

I don't have them on PP, but we did get a physical package, so I have an original at least.

I would not want to run across these characters in a dark alley!

They look pretty tough, don't they!

I can see you arguing as they put you on the stretcher:
"I'm telling you, I'm fine! It's just my wrist! I can walk! Honest!"
:rotfl2:

Hmmm.... Course I'm not as up on your Presidents, but... Bush Sr.?

Ding! Ding! Ding! You win a free virtual pizza! that's pretty good for a furener or for anyone!

That's our girl! What a trouper!

Nice! Paid a high price for them, though.

Yeah. That's probably it.

It's the Mickey Big Brother Conspiracy theory!

:lmao:

Excellent! :rotfl:

Yup. Hundreds of people in MK start asking, "When is the three o'clock parade?"

Oh, that's right! According to Kathy (KatMark) I should have said 4 pm, but I think that's in August!

Oh, dear.

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

You're welcome! Enjoyed your comments, as always!

Your kids will all love it! Be sure you get up and call for the BBB at 7am exactly 6 mos. out from the date you want it, if you want to have it in the castle. That one books up. (That will be 4am your time. PM if you would like some help with that- I'm usually up at 6am here anyway) :goodvibes

That is an awesome idea!! I will definitely do that. Will have to look at the pictures and find a good spot to do something! Thanks so much for the idea!!!

It was not my idea, but I love it! Here is a link to the page where Kathy (KatMark) tells her story. Be prepared, it is very touching, and you will relate, I'm sure - but it is special. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3167549&page=77

Thanks for the help!! I'll be sure to let you know once I know what our plans are. Looking at maybe changing dates a little bit but not by much. Really wish I could just get Jeff to agree on where he want's to stay so I can just book the trip!! He wants to do it just afraid that the drive is going to be too much for all of us (especially the kids).

Donna, I've been doing this since 2008 and it warms my heart immensely and brings a lot of good memories back.

Tammie, sorry I'm so slow again (we went to see the newlyweds this weekend and work has been nuts; don't they know they are interfering with my DIS time?)

I am so sorry you got knocked over and hurt your wrist. I truly cannot count how many times I've seen people get bowled over because the other person is not looking or just doesn't care.

The pictures from the Pirate makeover are terrific. I sure wish they'd had that when our boys were little.

Fun pictures on Jungle Cruise and Splash Mountain.

I'm anxious to hear where dinner is this evening.

It will be a long trip with 4 kiddos for sure, but lots of memories - you can see lots of new things along the way and teach your kids things - I think I would even do it in May if you could - less crowds and you can do a little history and geography lesson along the way. School work would be something to do in the car :goodvibes I mean who doesn't need to see the world's biggest ball of twine or even the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone once in their lifetime?

Thanks! I think people just get out of their usual mode and get so busy having fun they forget their surroundings. :rolleyes2

The pics did turn out really good - they do such a good job at PL!

Update coming soon!

It'll be memories that we can continue to make while they are young. We're told all the time oh don't do that the kids aren't going to remember and my response has always been they may not remember but I will and we'll have the pictures to look back on for them to enjoy the trip all over again. Seems to stop most people in their comments. I'd love to do it in May but I just don't feel comfortable pulling them out for 2 weeks so close to the end of the year (plus they can't miss any of the last 10 days of school or else they lose their spot in the school for the following year). I'd love to have the lower crowds but then again the last trip we took in May we looked like drowned rats by the time we'd get back to our hotel. :rotfl2: So maybe June is better for us. :confused3
