A pregnant mama, Mr. Crazypants, and Ga-Gae celebrate Epcots 30th! TR LINK-10/16!

Note: all pictures taken from the internet (I'm too lazy to look back through my files)

Ok, now on to a detailed look at our first day!

We are leaving out of Hartford Airport on Jetblue at 8 am, which means we will need to be up really early. I figure if we leave the house at 6 am we should be OK, but maybe since it is a weekday and I have to consider traffic, 5:30 might be better- ugg. I always think that these early morning flights are such a great idea when I’m booking them, but then I’m kicking myself when the actual departure day comes around.

Once at the airport we’ll probably grab a muffin or something for breakfast and then try to get Everett to run around a little to burn off some energy. This is going to Everett’s longest flight to date, and I am a little nervous. I know that Jetblue has individual TVs, which will be entertaining, and I’ll have the ipad and some new fun toys.

We’re scheduled to land at MCO at 10:48, at which point I will be once again very happy I decided on the early flight. We’ll go pick up our rental car and then head over to the world.

I’m hoping to arrive at WDW a little after noon, check in at the Contemporary,

and then grab lunch at the Contempo Café. I’ll probably pack a few snacks for Everett and myself, because we’ll likely be eating a little later than we usually do.

After that, well, it will be naptime, but I learned from our time in the hotel in Norfolk that Everett does not nap in hotel rooms. So, what we will do is head over to the MK (probably by monorail) and I’ll try to get Everett to sleep pushing him around in the stroller. I know he’ll be tired, so I’m hoping it will work.

If he does fall asleep I will take some time to play SotMK, which I really enjoyed on our last trips.

If he does not, we’ll likely do some rides with shorter lines, like Pirates and HM, the Tiki room and the treehouse.

If he does fall asleep, we’ll do a few rides when he wakes up. I’m thinking we’ll stick to the Adventureland/Frontierland/Liberty Square side of the park.
The night of the 25th is a party night, and I’ve found that the crowds really dissipate in the afternoon, so I’m hoping for short lines.

I’m planning on having dinner at the CHH- and I’ve learned from other TRs that it often closes early, so I’ll be sure to pick up a times guide on the way in so we can make it there before close.

We’ll stay at the MK until 7, and then we’ll head back to the Contemporary. Since it will be such an early morning, I think it will be good to make it an early night. That way we can all get our sleep and not start the vacation grumpy.

We also have the option of watching the Electrical Water Pageant from our balcony if any of us stay up that late.

So, what do you guys think?

I love, love, love the costumes for MNSSHP! That really was a brilliant idea on your part - especially the pajamas. Your mom should definitely go as a lion. Y'all are going to look so cute!

I don't blame you for taking AK off the schedule. Sounds like it just wouldn't be a good park this go around for y'all. And I am envisioning Everett doing some Celtic dancing. :lmao:

That's great that you were able to get an ADR for breakfast at Cape May. I had thought about doing that one this year since I've heard good things about it & we've never tried it. Unfortunately, it just didn't make the cut. So many Disney restaurants, so little time. :rotfl2:

You are a lightning fast poster! I didn't even finish my update! :rotfl2:

I think that the pajamas are a good call, if Everett doesn't get better about costumes, I might just dress him in skeleton pajamas for halloween too! :rotfl:

Everett has many talents, celtic dancing is now one of them :dance3::rotfl2:

I haven't heard too much about Cape May breakfast, but we do enjoy dinner there. Good to hear that the reports have been positive! :thumbsup2

Your Celtic Dance story cracked me up. I can just picture that. :lmao:

I'm sorry you can't go to Animal Kingdom! That would make me so sad, but in your situation it definitely makes the most sense. :thumbsup2

LOVE the costumes! That is such an awesome idea! I also feel like it's really original!

Your 'borrowed' CR pictures are making me really excited! That sounds like a good first day, no need to push it too soon!

I can't believe you're leaving in three days...AAAHHH! You better take lots of pictures of BLT, I'm counting on it! ;)

Yeah, life with Everett is never boring  He really does love dancing, maybe I should get him in a dance class for the fall.

I am sad about AK, but I'll be in Disney so it won't be all bad, right? :goodvibes Plus it gives us more time in Epcot and the MK, and there is so much there that I want to do, I'll need the extra time.

I think the costumes will work out OK. Truthfully, I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, because I always feel like there is so much pressure on thinking up cool costumes, and I'm not that creative. Maybe I'm improving in my old age :lmao:

Hi Marissa! I can't believe I didn't even know you had a PTR going!

First, Everett is such a cutie!!!

Second, congrats on the baby girl news! You are going to have so much fun! :woohoo:

Your trip is sounding great. I am loving your costume idea!

Your costume ideas sound great. I love the pj costume too! That will work out great.

Your first night sound like a good idea. I'm sure you'll all be tired from your early travels, so an early night in sounds perfect! :)

All you Marissa's getting to stay at BLT....I'm so jealous! Guess I need to change my name. :rotfl2:

I think your plans sound great for the day! I never even attempt to get Reid to nap at the hotel. That's why we just stay in the parks. I have a much better chance of him falling asleep in his stroller.

For the SotMK, does it really take up a lot of your time in the park? I really want to try it on our trip but I also don't want it to control our day either.

Sounds like a really good idea to have a low-key day at the MK & call it an early night! :thumbsup2

You are a lightning fast poster! I didn't even finish my update! :rotfl2:

Speed. I am Speed. Ka-Chow! :lmao:

I think that the pajamas are a good call, if Everett doesn't get better about costumes, I might just dress him in skeleton pajamas for halloween too! :rotfl:

Hey, if it works, I say go for it! Definitely cheaper than the costumes, too! :thumbsup2

Everett has many talents, celtic dancing is now one of them :dance3::rotfl2:

Maybe he could go on tour! I bet people would pay big bucks to see that. I know I would!

I haven't heard too much about Cape May breakfast, but we do enjoy dinner there. Good to hear that the reports have been positive! :thumbsup2

I'd like to try dinner there once. I love seafood. But Ed isn't as big on seafood as I am. Do they have a good selection of meats as well?

:lmao::lmao: Everett, Lord of the Dance!!

I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, but you seem to be able to laugh about it now. :thumbsup2

I think skipping AK makes sense for this trip. If there's nothing for you to do but a petting zoo, I'd skip it.

I love those early flights! Disney excitement always seems to carry us through.

Great costumes! Very creative, I hope that you can convince your mom to dress up with you!

I've heard good things about Cape May breakfast, and the costumes the characters wear are really cute!

And Amanda, they do have a good selection of meats for dinner. I'll review it in my TR eventually! :rotfl:

I love your costume idea for Everett! And your coordinating costume as well!!

Yeah...it also probably wouldn't be best for Everett to start doing his best impression of the fire-eater either... :scared:

I think your plans sound great! I always like doing the earliest flight, more Disney time that day!!! :thumbsup2

Well I guess you are forgiven, considering you were busy cruising and all ;)

I'm really enjoying checking out all the cute pink dresses and can't wait to have a closet full of princess gear like Miss Willow! :rotfl:

I'm sure we could go a little harder, and the excitement would take us through, but better to take it easy. I know that this is going to be a harder trip for me physically, but I am really stubborn, so taking down time is going to be a challenge.

SotMK can take as little as 15-20 mins or you could play it all day! Each challenge takes place in one land, and you visit 4-5 portals. If it is crowded and you have to wait it could take longer, and if you are a map dummy like me, it could take you some time to find the portals. :rotfl2:

If Everett is out for an hour or more, I'll have the time to do at least two challenges, and also pick up some more cards!

When we went they did have a good overall balance of meat and seafood. My MIL doesn't do any seafood and she still enjoyed it. I'm sure that Shannon will have a much more detailed report, so I defer to her.

He had never seen anyone dance like that before, so I guess it would seem really interesting. I do love musicals, and I've subjected Everett to watching a few. He always trying to dance along, which is pretty hilarious. I should predicted what would happen.

I bet my mom will do it, she is a good sport. I'll talk to her about it this weekend.

I'm glad you guys think it is a good idea, instead of being shocked that I would dress my child in pajamas in public. :lmao:

extra Disney = extra good day! :thumbsup2

The costume idea is a great idea. Pajama/costume for Everett should work out really well.

It was probably a good choice to cut AK if you have to cut anything. When we went last year, DW really couldn't do anything. We went and I rode EE, but I didn't even ride anything else because I didn't want her to have to sit around and wait for me. All we did was ride Triceratop Spin, walk the trails, ride the train and leave. Just nothing there that she could do and DS could sit through.

So, what do you guys think?
I think any day that involves getting on a plane and ending up in the MK is a good day.:thumbsup2 I hope Everett cooperates with your nap plan. I think SOTMK looks like a lot of fun!

I love your costume ideas! Practical in the heat, and most importantly, comfortable. :thumbsup2 Can't get much better than that when planning for a pregnant mama and a toddler!

I understand your feelings about AK. It stinks to entirely miss out on a park, but with your group of travelers, it looks like you are right about that being the best option. I'm hoping Paxton will enjoy FotLK, but I too know better than to try to get him to sit through that AND the Finding Nemo show in one day. That is just asking too much from a busy boy!

Your first day looks great too. I know precisely what you mean about those early flights! When I book them, all I am thinking about is how early we will be at our destination instead of how early that means we will be getting up! :rotfl: Hopefully it all works out to where Everett is super tired and conks out for a good nap, whether in the stroller or at the room. I know I wasn't expecting Paxton to do that on our DL trip, but he napped and napped in that stroller like nobody's business!

you realize that none of us believe that even for a second- right! :rotfl2:

Yeah, I know. :sad2: :rotfl:

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2 Thinking I may pick up the cards when we go to our 2nd MK day and we can work it in on that day.

Whoa, I've fallen behind! First off, congrats on finding out the gender of your little one! princess:

I can understand why you canceled the dinner package. 3:40 is such an odd time. That's right smack dab in the middle of lunch and dinner. I'd be afraid I would become hungry later on in the evening. Switching to Brown Derby was probably a good idea.

I like your first day plans; getting an early night at Disney in the beginning of a trip can make the world of difference, and I have a feeling it'll still be hot out when you're there.

Well I guess you are forgiven, considering you were busy cruising and all
Well, there was that. :rotfl2:

I'm really enjoying checking out all the cute pink dresses and can't wait to have a closet full of princess gear like Miss Willow!
Oh, you are going to have so much fun! :woohoo:
