Ok, now on to a detailed look at our first day!
We are leaving out of Hartford Airport on Jetblue at 8 am, which means we will need to be up really early. I figure if we leave the house at 6 am we should be OK, but maybe since it is a weekday and I have to consider traffic, 5:30 might be better- ugg. I always think that these early morning flights are such a great idea when I’m booking them, but then I’m kicking myself when the actual departure day comes around.
Once at the airport we’ll probably grab a muffin or something for breakfast and then try to get Everett to run around a little to burn off some energy. This is going to Everett’s longest flight to date, and I am a little nervous. I know that Jetblue has individual TVs, which will be entertaining, and I’ll have the ipad and some new fun toys.
We’re scheduled to land at MCO at 10:48, at which point I will be once again very happy I decided on the early flight. We’ll go pick up our rental car and then head over to the world.
I’m hoping to arrive at WDW a little after noon, check in at the Contemporary,
and then grab lunch at the Contempo Café. I’ll probably pack a few snacks for Everett and myself, because we’ll likely be eating a little later than we usually do.
After that, well, it will be naptime, but I learned from our time in the hotel in Norfolk that Everett does not nap in hotel rooms. So, what we will do is head over to the MK (probably by monorail) and I’ll try to get Everett to sleep pushing him around in the stroller. I know he’ll be tired, so I’m hoping it will work.
If he does fall asleep I will take some time to play SotMK, which I really enjoyed on our last trips.
If he does not, we’ll likely do some rides with shorter lines, like Pirates and HM, the Tiki room and the treehouse.
If he does fall asleep, we’ll do a few rides when he wakes up. I’m thinking we’ll stick to the Adventureland/Frontierland/Liberty Square side of the park.
The night of the 25th is a party night, and I’ve found that the crowds really dissipate in the afternoon, so I’m hoping for short lines.
I’m planning on having dinner at the CHH- and I’ve learned from other TRs that it often closes early, so I’ll be sure to pick up a times guide on the way in so we can make it there before close.
We’ll stay at the MK until 7, and then we’ll head back to the Contemporary. Since it will be such an early morning, I think it will be good to make it an early night. That way we can all get our sleep and not start the vacation grumpy.
We also have the option of watching the Electrical Water Pageant from our balcony if any of us stay up that late.
So, what do you guys think?
