A precious gem of a weekend!7/23 Finished! link to new TR

LOVE the picture (both of them) but I think you guys look even better now!

Sorry about the stomach flu and the laundry. UGH.

Love the pictures....there is something about that fountain that I love. When we travelled in 2007 with my BFF, her hubby and daughter, they had a photopass photographer there when we came out of dinner and it's one of my favorities of our entire trip...it's in a frame on top of my fridge in the kitchen!!! Brenda has her's in the living room....great memories.\

So sorry about the flu, it's a terrible thing, especially if it makes round 2....hopefully not!!!

Ah, the joy of finally making it all the way through :)!! :surfweb:

You have a great trip report going!! Very, very fun to read!

I'll pick up the comments from the last installment:

Don't you love the Morocco Pav?? I think it's so pretty! The tile work is just my colors.

I had to chuckle at the picture taking fiasco- and I definitelyl think it was the buzz wearing off combined with a grumpy DH that made you want to get a little perturbed at taking everyone and their Great Aunt Sally's picture.

LOVE the shot you finally DID get at the fountain though. That's one of my photo themes for our upcoming Sept. Extravaganza!! I'm thinking every Pav. has one.

bummer his beer luck was NOT happenin'. Will he keep up the search??

I can't believe what you had to go through to get a picture in front of the fountain! :lmao: You deserved another slushie!

That's great about booking your stay! Have you stayed at BC before? You're gonna love it!

Wow - I got really far behind on your TR and now I am catching up at work. Unfortunately, I can not see any photobucket pictures here so I can't even see how your fountain picture turned out. I just can't believe you had to go through all the trouble to get your picture taken. OMG! And the poor man who couldn't figure out how to work your camera. You were so gracious! kudos to you!

Congrats on booking a summer trip! I am sure you will have a blast whereever you stay, but I like your idea of the split stay! I really enjoyed CSR last summer. It is beautiful!

When I last left you, we had travelled from Canada to Italy. I had drank (devoured is really more like it) a grey goose slushie, a tangerine champangne, a cheddar soup, a spanakapita (my greek is not so good) and a baclava. Dh had tried three different beers and hated taking his mood down with each one, but loved his falafel and whatever else he got at the greek shop that he eat before I got to him. Plus we had recaptured a photo moment from our disneymoon after I got blisters on my fingers from taking other people's fountain poses.

My buzz was definitely gone at this point. It was time for a refill.

I had my sights set on a margarita in Mexico. I've always wanted one. But we were still in Italy and Dh hadn't perked up. I was beginning to doubt that he could walk to Mexico with me. Or at least walk happily.

Then I spotted the stand outside Italy that sells Margaritas. OR maybe Dh spotted it.

I did question Italy selling margaritas. I didn't think they were really a national drink? Oh well, I figured a margarita in Italy is better than no margarita at all.:confused3

So in line I went.

Bottoms up.

It was okay.

I’m kind of sorry I didn’t hold out for the one in Mexico. But now I have something else to look forward to on my next trip.

As it happens the margarita stand was near the friendship dock. I’ve never taken the boat before and as I mentioned Dh wasn’t getting any happier so I thought we might give it a try.

“Want to take the boat back?”

“What boat and back where?”

He was a little crotchety.

“The landing for the boat that takes us to world showcase entrance is right here. Do you want to walk or do you want to take the boat

I knew it was a silly question. Of course he was going to take the boat but I thought I would make it appear as if I was asking his opinion. As predicted he jumped at the offer.

“Let’s take the boat.
”

We got in line for the boat. We were about fifth in line. But it grew pretty quickly. We chatted about what to do next while in line. Or rather it went more like this.

“What’s next on the agenda boss

“Walking all the way around the world so I guess we’ll have some free time
”

“How much free time?”

“Maybe an hour or so by the time we get back to the hotel. Do you feel like checking out the pool and going for a swim?”

It was almost hot out. I don’t know what the temperature was exactly but I knew tomorrow was supposed to be colder. So I thought we could try a swim. Florida was having record high temperatures just a few days earlier but it was definitely cooler now and as I mentioned calling for even cooler tomorrow. I knew this would be our only possible time to brave a swim.

“An hour or so ehh?” Dh says as he raises his eyebrows and pulls me into a bear hug. I’m happy he’s found his way out of his grump but really this is not the time or the place.

“Oh you two must be on your honeymoon,” says a lady behind us in line.

We just look at each other and slowly nod.:rolleyes1

Cause really what’s the harm? This trip has been better than our honeymoon was.:confused3

“You should really get those pins they give out” as she continues to give us advice on the perks of wearing honeymoon pins. She starts to ask about our wedding. I’ve already lied to her and feel compelled to continue lying so I don’t hurt her feelings.

“Did you get married here on property?”

“No, I didn’t know Disney did weddings. So we had it back home in Toronto

Now this is mostly true. I knew Disney was building a wedding pavilion when I was planning our wedding but it was too late by the time I found out. I had already settled on a venue and a date at home.

“Was it a big wedding?”

“We had about 150 people so not too big.
”

Luckily the boat arrives and we board before she starts asking us too many more questions. We purposely find a seat far away from her.

The boat gets crowed. I start to feel guilty that I have a seat while families with young children are standing. Yes, I waited a good 10 minutes for the boat (it would have been shorter to walk around) and they just ran on but still… I felt guilty.

I started to stand up. Dh stopped me. Then I stopped him from stopping me and before I knew it we were both standing up and offering our seats to a frazzled family with three children under five. They were appreciative.

I would have rather sat but at the end of the day when my head hits my pillow I have to be happy with the choices I have made that day. Although it appeared my head would be hitting my pillow sooner than bedtime if Dh had his way. He wasn’t giving up on his idea of how that hour or so should be spent.

Finally we docked and on our way through I saw a photopass photographer hanging out by the base of the "golfball" as my children like to call it.

I just couldn’t resist having these photopass pictures done.

I had to ask for this next picture. But I think it turned out really great.

Bye-bye Food and Wine Festival!

Then I just couldn’t resist going into mousegears.

Sadly I never bought anything.:sad2:

Dh followed me around making shopping miserable for me. I finally sent him outside. Once again I looked at the hoodies but it was busy in there and Dh’s negative reaction to shopping hovered with me. I felt too guilty to shop. Or rather too guilty to enjoy shopping. I couldn’t find it in myself to really look. I wish I had of. I could have used a warm hoodie later in the trip. But more about that later.

How cold could it get in the middle of October? If you notice from our pictures we are wearing our coats again by the time we get to the front of Epcot. In the worldshowcase, there didn't seem to be a breeze so we were warm enough to take them off but now it was getting cooler again.

Just how cool would it get this trip and how much would I regret not getting that hoodie? Click here to find out. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36022122&postcount=217

What a great update!! I cracked up that you DH was hounding you- mine would be doing the exact same thing. Especially after a bunch of beer. What else is vacation for? :confused3:lmao:

Oh, I was cracking up while I was reading about your "wedding" conversation!!! Too funny!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I didn't know Italy had margaritas either -- did it have tequila in it like the Mexican ones?

Liar Liar Pants on Fire :rolleyes1

You SHOULD have made a full committment to your fib and worn the buttons. Your DH would have loved all the perks ;)

Tpp funny about the honeymoon conversation. Just think of the stories you could have told if you hadn't avoided her on the boat.

I hope you guys have a nice break back at the hotel (wink wink). And I suspect it is about to get real cold outside! brrrrrrh!

LOVE the pictures & love the split stay!! :cool1:

Thanks!

Got some news coming up about the split stay soon!

LOVE the picture (both of them) but I think you guys look even better now!

Sorry about the stomach flu and the laundry. UGH.

Thank goodness it's all over now. Only two of us went down with it.

Love the pictures....there is something about that fountain that I love. Brenda has her's in the living room....great memories.\

So sorry about the flu, it's a terrible thing, especially if it makes round 2....hopefully not!!!

I've never seen a photopass person there but it certainly makes sense to have one there.

I love the fountain too. But more from the memories of our honeymoon than anything else. We only did one table service on our honeymoon and it was the original alfredo's. Which is gone but luckily the fountain is still there.

Ah, the joy of finally making it all the way through :)!! :surfweb:

Welcome! Glad you could make it over.

I imagine you'll have more than one theme for each pavilion on each trip. I'm looking forward to reading all about it.

Dh is always in search of a good beer. He's been spoiled here in canada and always has a hard time when we go to the states. Why he just didn't get a beer at the canadian pavilion I'll never understand.:sad2:

I can't believe what you had to go through to get a picture in front of the fountain! :lmao: You deserved another slushie!

That's great about booking your stay! Have you stayed at BC before? You're gonna love it!

The slushie was certainly my favorite.

Haven't stayed at the BC before and I have more coming up on whether I will or will not be soon.

The man with a camera was a first timer to Disney with his wife. She was in a personalized motorized vehicle. They were both looking very overwhelmed.

I think the kids will enjoy CSR. It's so pretty. Especially the fact that their friends from dance will be there with them. I'm looking forward being able to lounge by the pool while my kids are kept occupied with their friends.

More on my split stay soon.

What a great update!! I cracked up that you DH was hounding you- mine would be doing the exact same thing. Especially after a bunch of beer. What else is vacation for? :confused3:lmao:

Oh the "hounding" continues whether we are on vacation or not. Just this morning I had to side step around some tentacles.

Oh, I was cracking up while I was reading about your "wedding" conversation!!! Too funny!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I didn't know Italy had margaritas either -- did it have tequila in it like the Mexican ones?

I'm not even sure it had alcohol in it. Maybe Grappa? Is that alcohol? It was very lemony.

Liar Liar Pants on Fire :rolleyes1

You SHOULD have made a full committment to your fib and worn the buttons. Your DH would have loved all the perks ;)

It crossed my mind to get the buttons. I will admit even before I met that lady.

Tpp funny about the honeymoon conversation. Just think of the stories you could have told if you hadn't avoided her on the boat.

I hope you guys have a nice break back at the hotel (wink wink). And I suspect it is about to get real cold outside! brrrrrrh!

It was sweet she though we were newlyweds instead of a grumpy old tipsy couple we really are. LOL

Octopus man appears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am :lmao: about the wedding story but that's actually very cute.

I think we need to make your DH a beer cheat sheet so he knows where to go for stuff he'd like and then require him to stick to the list. It's when they deviate that problems ensue. Jeff would be cranky too.

I hope your "siesta" improves DH's mood!!

Somehow I don't think you hit the pool.

I think I will have to check out that beer cheat sheet next time. Selfishly I had only looked up items I wanted to consume.:rolleyes1

:rotfl: You must both be good actors! BTW - I just saw your pics and love the one of your DH holding the Mickey balloons. I have never seen that before. Must remember to request it!

:lmao:

I'm thinking the Italian margarita wasn't on that list....

Nope. Desperate times calls for desperate actions!

The whole pretending to be a DIS newbie had me cracking up!

Great update!

Maybe with my acting skills and your dancing skills we should take our act on the road. Or at least Disney. Think they would hire us?

It's my photo album cover. I really wanted the soarin photopass picture but the CM couldn't do it.

Oh my friend, you crack me up:lmao: My BFF and I had the margaritas in Mexico and as Jasmine tells the story, we could hardly walk to the bus, that it was a good thing she was there to help us;) they were strong, but she exaggerates.....but they were yummy!!!
