When I last left you, we had travelled from Canada to Italy. I had drank (devoured is really more like it) a grey goose slushie, a tangerine champangne, a cheddar soup, a spanakapita (my greek is not so good) and a baclava. Dh had tried three different beers and hated taking his mood down with each one, but loved his falafel and whatever else he got at the greek shop that he eat before I got to him. Plus we had recaptured a photo moment from our disneymoon after I got blisters on my fingers from taking other people's fountain poses.
My buzz was definitely gone at this point. It was time for a refill.
I had my sights set on a margarita in Mexico. I've always wanted one. But we were still in Italy and Dh hadn't perked up. I was beginning to doubt that he could walk to Mexico with me. Or at least walk happily.
Then I spotted the stand outside Italy that sells Margaritas. OR maybe Dh spotted it.
I did question Italy selling margaritas. I didn't think they were really a national drink? Oh well, I figured a margarita in Italy is better than no margarita at all.
So in line I went.
Bottoms up.
It was okay.
Im kind of sorry I didnt hold out for the one in Mexico. But now I have something else to look forward to on my next trip.
As it happens the margarita stand was near the friendship dock. Ive never taken the boat before and as I mentioned Dh wasnt getting any happier so I thought we might give it a try.
Want to take the boat back?
What boat and back where?
He was a little crotchety.
The landing for the boat that takes us to world showcase entrance is right here. Do you want to walk or do you want to take the boat?
I knew it was a silly question. Of course he was going to take the boat but I thought I would make it appear as if I was asking his opinion. As predicted he jumped at the offer.
Lets take the boat.
We got in line for the boat. We were about fifth in line. But it grew pretty quickly. We chatted about what to do next while in line. Or rather it went more like this.
Whats next on the agenda boss?
Walking all the way around the world so I guess well have some free time
How much free time?
Maybe an hour or so by the time we get back to the hotel. Do you feel like checking out the pool and going for a swim?
It was almost hot out. I dont know what the temperature was exactly but I knew tomorrow was supposed to be colder. So I thought we could try a swim. Florida was having record high temperatures just a few days earlier but it was definitely cooler now and as I mentioned calling for even cooler tomorrow. I knew this would be our only possible time to brave a swim.
An hour or so ehh? Dh says as he raises his eyebrows and pulls me into a bear hug. Im happy hes found his way out of his grump but really this is not the time or the place.
Oh you two must be on your honeymoon, says a lady behind us in line.
We just look at each other and slowly nod.
Cause really whats the harm? This trip has been better than our honeymoon was.
You should really get those pins they give out as she continues to give us advice on the perks of wearing honeymoon pins. She starts to ask about our wedding. Ive already lied to her and feel compelled to continue lying so I dont hurt her feelings.
Did you get married here on property?
No, I didnt know Disney did weddings. So we had it back home in Toronto.
Now this is mostly true. I knew Disney was building a wedding pavilion when I was planning our wedding but it was too late by the time I found out. I had already settled on a venue and a date at home.
Was it a big wedding?
We had about 150 people so not too big.
Luckily the boat arrives and we board before she starts asking us too many more questions. We purposely find a seat far away from her.
The boat gets crowed. I start to feel guilty that I have a seat while families with young children are standing. Yes, I waited a good 10 minutes for the boat (it would have been shorter to walk around) and they just ran on but still
I felt guilty.
I started to stand up. Dh stopped me. Then I stopped him from stopping me and before I knew it we were both standing up and offering our seats to a frazzled family with three children under five. They were appreciative.
I would have rather sat but at the end of the day when my head hits my pillow I have to be happy with the choices I have made that day. Although it appeared my head would be hitting my pillow sooner than bedtime if Dh had his way. He wasnt giving up on his idea of how that hour or so should be spent.
Finally we docked and on our way through I saw a photopass photographer hanging out by the base of the "golfball" as my children like to call it.
I just couldnt resist having these photopass pictures done.
I had to ask for this next picture. But I think it turned out really great.
Bye-bye Food and Wine Festival!
Then I just couldnt resist going into mousegears.
Sadly I never bought anything.
Dh followed me around making shopping miserable for me. I finally sent him outside. Once again I looked at the hoodies but it was busy in there and Dhs negative reaction to shopping hovered with me. I felt too guilty to shop. Or rather too guilty to enjoy shopping. I couldnt find it in myself to really look. I wish I had of. I could have used a warm hoodie later in the trip. But more about that later.
How cold could it get in the middle of October? If you notice from our pictures we are wearing our coats again by the time we get to the front of Epcot. In the worldshowcase, there didn't seem to be a breeze so we were warm enough to take them off but now it was getting cooler again.
Just how cool would it get this trip and how much would I regret not getting that hoodie? Click here to find out.
